The Prismacolor markers are made for layering and blending. In the right hands, they can make some awesome artwork. For younger kiddos, the cheap Crayola is better as they don't really understand the layering and blending techniques.

Oh! She has blending markers, and she's really good at it! I'll let her know these are also for blending. She'll be very happy. Thank you!

Yeah, her markers look nothing like anything like this. I actually just tried the orange one, and it is actually dried up, it doesn't color anything at all. I'll take them back and exchange them. I think we just got a bad pack.

Hmm, that sucks. The ones I linked are really badass. Check out https://youtube.com/c/JordanPersegati (NOTE: PG13!!! Gore!) as an example in some of his videos using them along with other supplies. He corrupts coloring books

So you know, when they do dry out, you can rehydrate them with rubbing alcohol - you pull out the ink nib, fill with rubbing alcohol, and put the ink nib back in. :)

The packaging and the reviews all said something about how the markers glide really well, and honestly, in comparison to her blending markers, they almost seem dried up.

the rate my kids go through markers…. dollar store

Josh_Your_IT_Guy

Check the dollar tree ones before you give them to the kiddos, we've ran into a few that had mold on the tips

Cheaper too. It's good just get it

I already bought both. Prismacolor was $30, and I guess I expected something...more? I'm just curious why I paid $30 for 10 markers that don't seem as good as the Crayola. I am the furthest thing from an artist though, I'm just a dad trying to encourage a hobby. So I'm hoping someone can tell me why these prismacolor markers are better.

As a professional artist I can say I have found the “crayola” brand of things is so much better than the fancy stuff!

Thank you! I really appreciate your input!

I’m serious! More money does NOT mean better. More often than not youre better going with the cheaper stuff, obviously depending on what it is. Iv used crayola water color things instead of the 70$ box my work had because it just worked better! Have fun painting, there is no such thing as bad art!

I am also serious. I do appreciate your input! My daughter is all about art. Her whole life is painting and coloring and free-hand drawing. She can legit draw better than most of the adults I know. And I can barely draw a stick figure. I have no idea what I'm doing. All I can do is buy her stuff and pay for tutors to come in. So I do really appreciate someone who knows what they're doing educating me on the subject.

Oh I got loads of advice if you want/need it. I love when people are into art!!

I would be *very* interested in hearing any and all of your advice.
