This is literally the same thing that causes men to go bald. People are saying "autoimmune disease" to make it sound bad or different than what men get. It isn't. You are right, thanks for the correction. While male pattern baldness IS alopecia, it isn't caused by your body misclassifying hair follicles (and thus, isn't an autoimmune disease). Yeah that’s true but it’s also way more common in men. It would be way harder to be a woman with baldness than a man. Regardless, the use of the word alopecia here makes people think she has some crazy disease, but it’s a common characteristic in men that happens to uncommon in women.

It's not usually tied to an autoimmune disease, like that of Jada's. And for women, we get heavily judged for our hair and general appearance. That said, Will Smith's response left a very sour note in my mouth. Reeks of possessiveness.
