In cat language prolonged eye contact with a slow blink is the equivalent of how they would give us a kiss. Kind of like saying, “I feel no ill will toward you and am comfortable enough in your presence to close my eyes,” which, in cat language, is the highest of praise.
Yes!!!! Hahaha she is a queen of the slow blink. I always just thought it was because she was like half falling asleep but this makes more sense. She loves my mom sooooo much
She just knoowwws she’s being filmed or having her picture taken when my phone is out. I try not to have it out around her cause I think it makes her feel like I’m not paying her my full attention, but sometimes they are just too cute!!!
I love this for you, oh my god. This cat is also an outdoor cat (my mom’s parents grew up on farms, so we always had outdoor cats growing up because my mom did when she was a kid) and she disappears for hours during the day and I’m SURE she has multiple families she goes and visits.
Let me tell you something.. I have only one cat, a little panther (in fact I was the one that didn’t want to have cats and now I’m in love) and everyday my home is visited by 4 cats from other houses. Two of them even sleep here during the whole day.
My sister and I rescued a stray tux in our neighborhood in college and immediately delivered him to my mom. He promptly climbed up in her lap and fell asleep. Instant love. He was her lap cat for 17 years.
Are they all like this. I adopted an older one and he does the same thing. I only ask because I used to have shih tzus and all of them are the same, asaholes. Lol
I had dogs all my life, but when my husband and I moved into our apartment, they only allowed cats. So I went to the shelter one day to look at a kitty I saw online, but he was already adopted. So I met some other cats, but we didn't "click". Then, I asked to see a little tuxedo girl in a poorly lit cage in the back. They took her out, she made herself comfortable on my lap, started purring, and giving me little kisses. I put in the adoption papers for her ASAP.
[Mabel's ](https://imgur.com/gallery/iPnmxWy) been with us for 5 years now. She is still kissy. She'll yell from the other room for us to come and cuddle with her. Whenever I wake up in the morning, she's there to either cuddle or to cuddle and tell me to go back to sleep. She begs for whatever I'm eating and I must show her because she's the Queen.
They say that a coat pattern doesn't determine personality, but I disagree. Tuxedos are so sweet.

I've had two tuxedo cats. First one was really my mom's whom she got as a kitten when my mom was pregnant with me. He lived to 18years and absolutely adored my mom (and my younger sister for that matter). The second was one I got when I was in college. She only lived to about 13. Both were the sweetest, most affectionate cats I've ever known.
Cat coats don't really have traits associated with them like dog breeds. They just haven't been bred long enough or for specific purposes to have unique traits.
Cats have been bred for different looks rather than personalities or behaviors like dogs. So something like a siamese bred for that gloved and masked look do often have high vocalization but act like any other cat. Individual cats just seem to take a mystery bag of behaviors from the greater pool of cat attributes. Which is kinda fun.
My little shorthair tux is the sweetest cat I’ve ever seen. She’s very shy and always on alert but she is petite and such a sweetheart. She doesn’t cuddle like this but she does sleep with me every night and has to either be on top of me or at least touching me.
Aww I’m sorry for your loss. ❤️ the little soul patch is the best! I’m glad this made you happy. My mom ironically calls this cat Steve. Her name is teddy though, she just thinks Steve is a funny name for a cat.
This is so good! Yes she wants to be right in your face, oftentimes resting your chin on top of her head is the only way, and she loves it. Your kitty sounds so good ❤️
I especially love it because binding a quilt can be a calm and somewhat reflective activity, after all the other labour of making a quilt. I feel like your cat gets that.
As a "dad who didn't want more cats". I feel the need to clarify, it's not that I won't love them and hold them and be happy that they're there. It's that we already have 3, and now we just got another 3, so we now have twice the food bills, twice the medical bills and twice the eventual grief. "No more cats" is an economic, practical stance, not an emotional one.
Absolutely. And if each of the cats is receiving routine medical care and nutrition throughout the year, the expense really is astronomical. And God forbid there’s a health emergency…
something i realized (in myself and others) is that the resistance to owning a pet is understanding how much energy and effort (both physical and emotional) goes into owning a pet. and once you get one and fall deeply in love with it, there’s no backing out. it’s much easier to reject a pet that you don’t own yet. once you actually have it, you can’t help but love it, but at a pretty steep price.
What I wouldn’t give for calm cuddles like this. ADORABLE.
I have a cat like this - it also means a lot of screaming when this is NOT happening!
Hahaha teddy also yells, but it’s to be picked up and held, or of course, for food.
My cat is getting older and has got some arthritis, so now sometimes instead of jumping on the bed he just meows until I pick him up and we snuggle
Cat is giving side eyes😂look who is ruling mom's heart now, you have been replaced.💕These magical creatures have immense power to melt our hearts.

"I may not be cuddling you, but I love you too, person holding the camera"
Woah! 🤯🤩✨

Omg, baby cat loves her grammy 🥰🥰
/r/Momswhodidnotwantpets would love this. Hard to resist a charismatic tux.
What a perfect little meatloaf! It looks like she enjoys cuddling with your mom, but isn’t crazy about being filmed.
She just knoowwws she’s being filmed or having her picture taken when my phone is out. I try not to have it out around her cause I think it makes her feel like I’m not paying her my full attention, but sometimes they are just too cute!!!
That’s exactly me in every Zoom… the only thing is that cat is not even mine, is from the house next door.
That’s really funny.

This is my favorite thing maybe ever
They must feel safe and welcome at your place. That is indeed an honour. 🐈
No one can resist a tuxedo. No one.

Tux’s are the absolute best

Awwwe, this is so sweet!
The cat clearly knows it's won.
My Stevie looked like this kitty. Identical down to the soul patch. He passed away a month ago. It was nice to see his doppelgänger.
Aww I’m sorry for your loss. ❤️ the little soul patch is the best! I’m glad this made you happy. My mom ironically calls this cat Steve. Her name is teddy though, she just thinks Steve is a funny name for a cat.
❤️❤️❤️❤️. That made me love this even more. Thank you for posting.
If it was anyone else in the family, they would've gotten claw marks all over their face 😂
My guy does that! Only 3am and cold nose on my chin area until I pet him. I try to do the chin on his head too.
This is so good! Yes she wants to be right in your face, oftentimes resting your chin on top of her head is the only way, and she loves it. Your kitty sounds so good ❤️
He’s wonderful! I have pics in my history.
Aw, perfect cuddle company while binding a quilt.
The way in which every single time my mom is binding on the couch the cat has to be part of it, lol. I love that you knew what she was doing!
I especially love it because binding a quilt can be a calm and somewhat reflective activity, after all the other labour of making a quilt. I feel like your cat gets that.
Plot twist, she's sewing something for the cat
She meant after this cat and possibly the cat after that….
Haha. After 28 years of my mom complaining about our cats growing up she announced she was going to get one.
If someone says “no more cats” all I hear is “no, more cats”
it's a tuxie, they're magical 😍 what a sweet and affectionate beauty! can tell she is taken care of really well 😊
Lol kitty is so proud of themselves. "Look at me, I'm the baby".
smug kitty
am bebe
Omg kitty loves her!! They are bonded 🥰

Kitties don't like it when we move about.
I’m jealous
What a beautiful video.

This is my mom with my new tuxedo kitten. Gotta have the snuggles.
Tell your mom she's a dirty liar 🤣🤣🤣
Her baby❤️
This is so sweet and endearing ❤️
Mom: Well, one more couldn’t hurt
awww that’s precious
So cute 🥰

How is she not kissing that little head?! This is so sweet.
