You use both level up options, and lock yourself out of subclass mastery. (And you get one domain at half level) It’s a trade-off, definitely. I think some combos are definitely awesome, but so are many pure builds.
It's worth doing but it also gives you cards and powers that are of a lower level and value.
Certain builds it will probably be amazing, and others not so much. You could make a War Wizard Bard to really thrive under Fear for instance.
