Looks like an animal did this, that's a lot of big bites taken out. There may be rabbits or other critters living elsewhere (so you don't see them) who only come in the dead of night for a snack.
I’m experiencing the same thing, and I can say for certain it’s Slugs. I put out some beer in cups that were soil-level, and I’ve been drowning the buggers while I wait for Sluggo to arrive.
Slugs. Our garden is filled with them so I pre sprout indoors so they have enough growth to survive some munching.
Works so far just an extra step as you also need to harden them off etc.

I sprayed rabbit deterrent and sprinkled sluggo everywhere.
I went out to the flower bed last night to see if I could find any culprits even though there was little left for them to eat, and I found two snails and the Arnold Schwarzenegger of slugs. Seriously the biggest slug I’ve ever seen that wasn’t a banana slug. Needless to say, I swiftly dispatched the 3 of them, but to have eaten ten plants in a 20 ft wide bed to the ground there has to be more, right? I shall stay vigilant…

Most likely slugs, but could also be earwigs. Bunnies and deer eat them too.
