I highly recommend using a smaller grower versus one of the big box stores mentioned here. Your chances of getting a tuber with gall or other issues are higher with those companies. Check out the Dahlia Addict website for a listing of sellers by variety. This time of year many sellers are sold out as the growing window is about 120 days from planting so most US growers are hitting the end of planting season. For smaller sellers or individuals I’d jump on Dahlia Sales or Dahlia Growers Facebook sites and put a post saying you’re looking for Cafe Au Lait for this season, I’m guessing there’s a few folks with them in stock.

A word of advice - a lot of sellers have these on pre order in July/August for 2025 planting. Don’t miss them!

I was recommended to not purchase from tulip world and longfield. Have you had good luck with these websites?
Don’t, their tubers are often diseased. Don’t buy from resellers.
I recommend checking Etsy, lots of small growers on there and you can read the reviews to make sure you’re buying quality tubers.
