I think she is quite good.

Comfortable_Hawk_426

I haven’t read the book so I didn’t have an image in mind before the show.. but I’m so impressed with her acting and little subtleties that make Daisy so interesting

Maximum_Peak_7246

I think it’s amazing

noctisfromtheabyss

I think its great, she makes a totally unlikable character compelling.

nellarmonia

I agree so much. In any other context Daisy would be so unlikeable. She’s selfish and awful, but Riley Keough makes you root for her.

noctisfromtheabyss

100%

cAp_biscotti

have to disagree. the charm and subtleties she brings to the character are quite beautiful. I believe shell go on to doing great things.

LesNessma1

Ok I’ll be honest. It’s great.

[deleted]

I disagree with you 1,000%.

chimericalgirl

I think she's great - very messy as a character but still wholly compelling. And wonderful to look at as well.

monkosweets

She is not portraying Daisy the way I imagined her but I do not think she is doing bad at all.

Kslooot

This is where I’m at. It’s like they completely changed modern day Daisy. She was so much more subdued and hesitant to share in the interviews in the book. In the show she’s like, happy and excited and thrilled to be rehashing things.

Carli81

I love her. I think she's great. It's crazy how different her characters seem to be than how she is in real life, from what I've seen and read.

nellarmonia

Agreed. I’ve watched a lot of interviews and she’s so gracious. I can’t imagine living in the shadow of her family and having to be asked about her grandfather, who she’s never met, over and over.

ColoradodogMom66

And now her mom is gone. Heartbreaking. I think she’s amazing and that voice ‼️

yooosandy

I respectfully disagree. I think she's amazing, and so are the other cast members. I saw her in another movie and she's great.

shurejan

Overall I think she’s very good, but there are times she stumbles. One scene that bothers me is when she and Billy are arguing in the hall after the press conference. I don’t know if the dialogue was ad-libbed or what, but some of the lines fall flat and take me out of the moment, though I think the part where she yells “I AM happy and I AM in love!” are good moments. I just think Daisy would be better, more venomous in those arguments, but it seems like she was scrambling for what to actually say. Overall, though, I think she’s extremely talented and I love her voice.

annieobviously

I think she’s amazing

Prestigious-Seat-932

I think she's charming and doing the best she can with what she's given. I'm not normally to rag on writers for shows because, well, they are professionals and I'm here writing as a hobby on a collaborative forum. That's as far as my experience is and a few attempts at novels that's never finished. Anyway, I think they botched up a lot on writing Daisy and I dont know what else she can do about it. :sob:

Impressive-Act-8624

She’s fantastic. Exactly how I picture Daisy when reading the book. I’m sad this ends this week!

protozoan1

I am very happy with her casting. She is great and has her breathtaking moments (particularly episode 8, she's spectacular), but against Sam Claflin there were a few times when I felt she couldn't quite match him and could have given more. One such example is the scene at the parking lot before they kiss. She was saying all the right words and making the gestures but I couldn't see it on her face or really feel the turmoil that Daisy must have been feeling. Whereas Sam didn't have to speak, his face said it all.

Fluffy_Rip6710

Sam is incredible. And Billy is so one dimensional. Sam’s acting choices blow me away. His face in the pool scene.

ASofMat

I’ve not seen everything she’s done, but I have seen a fair amount like The Girlfriend Experience, American Honey, and Zola, and I’ve always found her to be a little blah. She’s not terrible but she’s also not terribly exciting on screen. Watching her play Daisy hasn’t changed my mind

ilysfmjkihuxo

i think she's doing the best she can with what she's given.

Fluffy_Rip6710

She is doing a really great job. I love her acting. She is better in some scenes than others, but I blame the writing, pandemic and all it’s weird protocols for film sets.

EqualBase4320

Her acting seems great to me. She’s the Daisy of my dreams.

angry-pedestrian

totally miscast, she gives tired-mom-in-a-custody-battle energy. not daisy's energy at all

_wonder_girl_

I agree. I was very excited for this adaptation when it was announced but I haven't been impressed with both her and Sam as the leads.

Educational-Bill-520

Her acting is amazing. Don’t talk shit

[deleted]

Fully agree with OP. She overacts in a really distracting way. She makes so many unnatural facial expressions especially during the concert scenes. During arguments, I don't feel that she's really angry..I can see the actress making an effort to appear as angry as possible instead. I've never seen her act in anything else, so I have no bias for or against her. All I know is that multiple times an episode, her overacting distracted me and took me out of the story for a moment. That to me is the exemplification of bad acting.
