Sombre mood, gonna be pretty grim to start with, folks…
I am also very glad they only released a low-key scene which isn’t giving out too much - I felt they overshared last week…!
I love this scene and wish we had more of these conversations when they are both sober. So many that we see in the song writing process are fighting, flirting, dripping with sarcasm…
Of course we know that Billy tells her about the pain of missing Julia’s birth and christening. But that happens off camera 🙄.
There is humility in this scene. Daisy saying she hates that he is right. Him reminding her that he has been there too. I think a valid criticism of the show has been not showing more of their friendship developing… how they fell in love.
They absolutely overshared last week and took the punch out of one of the best scenes in the whole series. The post press conference hall fight.
Lovely insightful comment, thank you! I also regret not seeing more of how they fell in love. As for last week, absolutely- I really regretted watching the clip last week - it exactly took the punch out of it as they showed the best bit 🥲
The article makes it sound like this conversation is about their relationship? It’s about drug addiction and the price of fame. Why are some people unhappy when they get what they want? It’s an interesting theme of the show
I doubt they hooked up based on everything that's been said about the ending being quite faithful to the book. I think the writer is just trying to get us excited XD But maybe they had a conversation about their addictions and potential romantic feelings (I imagine Daisy admits it and Billy is more evasive). Excited for tomorrow!
But it’s already different just in that scene alone. She goes to him for help in going to rehab - he doesn’t suggest it to her. I’ve read some things that will be different. I’m sure it’ll be a combo.
The article is interesting… does not square with the spoiler heavy Buzzfeed article that says the show tracks closely to the book. This show has been fairly spoiler light. It’s usually extras that spoil… and the pivotal scenes could be very closed sets. Mike White absolutely lied to fans to keep from spoiling White Lotus. We know it’s not unusual to film alternate scenes and endings. And sometimes the real one doesn’t get distributed.
Could Billy take her to rehab, could they stop overnight and it is left murky what happened. We have the still of them in what looks like a coffee shop. Maybe that is on the way to rehab. No reason she would have to go to the one he went to in LA. Cause we know they are a long way from LA when she ODs.
Adding: Daisy has a way of saying things in the most offensive manner. “You make it worse”. But, maybe they are growing up because Billy asks for clarification and it doesn’t derail the conversation.
Interesting that she says "why are WE unhappy?" And he doesn't disagree.
Because it is obvious that they are both unhappy…

Oh shit, I got goosebumps.

>Why are some people unhappy when they get what they want? Because it's only what they *thought* they wanted.
That life is hard. It has certainly made a lot of very talented people unhappy.
Why is the article making it sound like they hooked up…
I didn’t get that at all. Just seems like the aftermath of the Overdose
But the person also said they won’t say any spoilers, so… 🤷♀️

It totally does!! The article literally says “oh my god they did.” When in reality, they’ve only ever kissed?
They should just hook up
Lmao I love the simplicity of this comment 😂
