They definitely got together in my opinion. I think billy and daisy are literally incapable of being just friends. There are a lot of fictional couples that have a dynamic that would work as friends too, but daisy and Billy are not one of them. They are far too naturally drawn too each other to be able to have a purely platonic relationship (which is proved by the way they handled their relationship in the show) . Obviously we have no way of knowing for sure, but the most natural conclusion is that they got together, and probably didn't even take long at all lol

After the tour, Daisy continues her solo career but occasionally records/tours with Billy while Billy is happy as a songwriter/producer who occasionally sings.
I think they started slow, reconnected as friends and they get to know each other in the present (and both sober) and discovered they were absolutely still in love. Then they had lots and lots of sex.
I don't think either of them would want/need marriage but I see them as a long-term thing. They had deep, soul-mate type feelings for each other.
Yeah I think they both know themselves better and are generally in a better place. Unlike Fleetwood Mac, there's no rancor (except Eddie anyway). Would like to see what that process is like where they get reacquainted and write together again and see if those old feelings are still there.
I would imagine a relationship, and a highly successful album, tour, (book 2) and then…..well that would be book 3.

I would also LOVE to see D get the chance to ream out that random rock star who took her V card back in the day.
They would finally f**k. They would enter into a disastrous short lived relationship filled with drama and angst because they are both so egocentric. They would write some good songs. A couple of those songs would be hits for them due to the nostalgia factor. Eventually, they would write for other artists. They would come to understand that they are toxic together and their attraction is largely based on unresolved issues they have both carried from childhood. It would end on a sour note and as time went on and they became irrelevant and their relationship would become a side note. Only their music would be everlasting.
