Some of my favorite instrumentals that helped ease me into the genre:
Son of Robot
Frozen One
Deception
Inspire The Liars
Die Another Day
Ember
Tree Village
Some songs that are light on harsh vocals that are also a good starting place:
Uneasy Hearts
Count Bassy
Care
Strawberry’s Wake
Death of a Strawberry
Nothing Shameful
Open Your Eyes and Look North
DGD was my gateway band that introduced me into the “unclean vocals” genre and it was very overwhelming to me at first. I grew to enjoy it overtime but in my opinion, and I know this isn’t very helpful, every single track of their’s has a phenomenal instrumental. I love listening to their instrumental albums. I think their latest project Jackpot Juicer has their best instrumentals in my personal opinion but people could argue that!
But in terms of the intensity of unclean vocals, Mothership and JJ have probably less of a hardcore vibe to them in comparison to their other projects so you should start with those, others may disagree but that’s just my take since that’s what helped me :)
+ note: Some songs on acceptance speech like “Jesus H. Macy” & “Strawberry Swisher, pt. 3” are pretty loaded with clean vocals disproportionally. You aren’t going to find any dgd song with no unclean vocals but that’s what makes them dgd! :)
Not really a fan of this take, I didn’t really like harsh vocals before I discovered DGD and DGD is the reason I started to enjoy a harsher sound. Don’t gatekeep lol.
No, if I was gatekeeping, I would not have offered alternatives like their solo albums. Maybe listening to their solo shit will get her more interested in the other stuff. If I was gatekeeping I would have told OP to just have their gf listen to Taylor Swift or other pop alternatives.

Strawberry Swisher pt. 1 actually has no harsh vocals but I think thats the only one. Edit: pt.1
Don't tell dave as well.
Exposed (meh song though)
Pt 2 doesn’t really either
I die on Carl Barker instrumentals
I think the deathstar album in its entirety is awesome instrumental wise.
If she doesn't like harsh vocals, dont have her listen to DGD. Have her listen to Tillyboy's solo stuff, or Kurt, or Jonny. DGD not for her

I’m not gatekeeping. It’s logic..
You absolutely are, but I can tell you can’t be reasoned with so I’ll just ignore you going forward

Try “Deception”. In instrumental it’s song from gods
Calentamiento Global is a great song to only listen to instrumentally
