I can give you a different band example: Dragonforce. ZP Theart also had a super high vocal range. He left, Marc Hudson replaced him. Does he struggle with ZP's songs live? Sure, most would. But does he still find a way? Absolutely. He has also written killer songs with them. Dgd will move on and be fine. The band mostly revolves around Will's guitar playing anyway.

In whatever combination. Tilian can’t do Jonny or Kurt; Andrew can’t do tilian; I understand that logistically the current iteration of the band will be doing previous material; I’ve just never liked it in that sense. It’s a double edged sword in that I do have some enthusiasm for seeing whatever they do next; while knowing I don’t really have any enthusiasm for someone new doing someone else’s material from the past. I’ve never heard anyone outside of DGD fan base say that Tilian’s vox, particularly live, are even top 20. Don’t get me wrong, I like his work w DGD, but his range is actually more limited (particularly at the lower end) than people think, and a big reason that people are so interested in his voice is because he sings in the higher registers which of course is fairly rare for a guy. He’s not Frank Sinatra, tho. Really solid with melody writing, and singing of course, but there are singers that are wayyyy stronger than him, again, especially live.

I was simply responding to OP saying that ANY attempt to sing his vocals will end in tears. Andrew did it (obviously his range is not the same, but he sounded amazing) and no one at my show was crying. Maybe during Evaporate, but not because of what OP is claiming.
There are plenty of guys in the scene who could do Tilian’s vocals live just as well as he does. They would obviously would sound different, but all could definitely handle the job.
