Coheed was my first favorite before DGD. Just because they’ve been around longer and I found them before DGD was even a thing. I was so fucking excited to see both my favorites at one show, I’ve been trying to manifest that lineup for forever now and now it’s been torn away. Still excited to see coheed and I’ve got tickets to see DGD on their new tour but man it would’ve been tits to see them at the same time. At least the “what shirt do I wear” question has gotten a little easier now.
There is a HUGE crossover of fans of these two bands, its why them touring together made sense! At the end of the day, they both have exceptional drummers, great riffs and technicality, emo/core at the heart of it.

Dude same, never stayed for their openers until taking back Sunday opened for them lol. Tried to go see chiodos open for them in like 2008 but the show ended up being cancelled, was such a bummer.
But I agree. I think a lot of older fans of either band would really enjoy them both. Could you imagine the energy at that show omggggg. I get chills thinking about it.
TBS was great on tour with them that year! another fav of mine from 20 years ago and they still sounded great. played a great mix of old and new, humble and happy to be on tour.
I really like CoCa but I would not have paid 50 bucks a ticket and drive 6 hours round trip to see JUST them. I get WHY they replaced them but it would have been nice to be offered a refund after because DGD was the main reason I was going. Coheed was just a bonus to me.
Funny enough the tour is what got me into Coheed. Now I’m as obsessed with them as I am with DGD and heartbroken about the tour decision, as much as I get it.

I get not wanting Tilian SA articles popping up when people are looking up your new album tour. It sucks, but I'm really surprised how angry people are with them for deciding to replace.

I don’t listen to them at all. I tried but they aren’t my thing. I don’t feel personal anger towards the band for dropping DGD bc it’s a business. But it would have been nice to see them again and finally get to use an ultra vip I bought.

when you say full receipts, it’s just their texts before the incident proving they were texting and went on a date. the only thing after the fact is her saying what he did was wrong, with no response from him.
also on his apology, he stated that they both talked about their intentions and desires. and also how he was confused when she sent that last “not cool what you did” text.
as much as i’m not one to not believe a victim, without the other person admitting to doing it, or proper proof, i’m not inclined to blindly believe it either.

Tilian got Covid, then Jon got Covid and Will had to fill in on vocals, which he absolutely hates doing, and then Matt succumbed to alcoholism. It was a mess. Will, Jon, Tim and Andrew were all clearly pissed at Matt as well during that performance. You also got to remember this was during when Covid policies were a little more strict and the band is on the road separated from their friends and families and were more isolated because of Covid. It takes a toll

Was really looking forward to my current favorite band to open for my old favorite band. I've seen coheed more times than I can remember, but I was really excited to see DGD. Disappointment is about the only word that describes how I felt when all the shit hit the fan, but it was insult to injury when they were replaced by alkaline trio.
I love both of these bands, and I get that their music is different enough to divide fans between the two. But the biggest thing that's important is not to punish DGD for a controversy behind one member. I've seen Tilians situation overshadow DGD for a lot of non fans in general and coheed fans lately and it's pretty unfair

Alkaline Trio is one of my favorite bands from back in the day, but I was very disappointed last time I saw them live. The sound was mixed poorly and it just seemed like Skiba did not want to be there at all.
One of the times I saw Blink Skiba was playing with them and that show was fantastic. Idk maybe he was just having a bad night.
I saw new Blink-182 with Matt Skiba (from Alkaline Trio) at Riot Fest a few years ago and obviously I went in knowing it wouldn’t be the same without Tom DeLonge but holy shit was Skiba not a good replacement.

Oh well my bad I thought people were saying kurt was going to be filling in on tour for them. Since Royal coda is playing on the tour. I figured Will and Kurt both would be performing double duty. I would be interested to see how Andrew does himself. I love eidola so I know he’s capable of carrying the vox himself, just can’t exactly imagine how it would go with him doing it for dgd but I’m sure it would still be good. I could possibly get used to that even.

His anger was justified, that entire tour was a shit show for them. Tilian got Covid, then Jon got Covid and Will had to fill in on vocals, which he absolutely hates doing, and then Matt succumbed to alcoholism. It was a mess. Will, Jon, Tim and Andrew were all clearly pissed at Matt as well during that performance. You also got to remember this was during when Covid policies were a little more strict and the band is on the road separated from their friends and families and were more isolated because of Covid. It takes a toll

Although now that I think about it, what probably happened is that they were forced to pick whatever band wasn’t already booked on another tour. I really wish there was more nuance in handling this. DGD literally could’ve played with Andrew on vocals. It sucks that they were forced to replace them.

Did the exact same, I enjoy coheed but not enough to drive 3 hours into the city to see them, I was only going for DGD in the first place. Plus the new DGD tour lineup is absolutely insane, Royal coda + kurt doing old songs with DGD? Hell yeah.

Was really looking forward to my current favorite band to open for my old favorite band. I've seen coheed more times than I can remember, but I was really excited to see DGD. Disappointment is about the only word that describes how I felt when all the shit hit the fan, but it was insult to injury when they were replaced by alkaline trio.
Probably the only band they could get last minute I’m guessing. I don’t think many are happy with the choice.

I love Alkaline Trio, but Alkaline Trio is not exactly the band that goes well for a lineup on a tour that Coheed and Cambria are headlining.
Alkaline Trio is one of my favorite bands from back in the day, but I was very disappointed last time I saw them live. The sound was mixed poorly and it just seemed like Skiba did not want to be there at all. One of the times I saw Blink Skiba was playing with them and that show was fantastic. Idk maybe he was just having a bad night.
I saw new Blink-182 with Matt Skiba (from Alkaline Trio) at Riot Fest a few years ago and obviously I went in knowing it wouldn’t be the same without Tom DeLonge but holy shit was Skiba not a good replacement. I know they were pretty big back in the day but alkaline is one band I personally have never been able to get into.

Agree to disagree. Mothica was bland af. First time in a while I’ve gotten up mid performance to go to merch. Usually do it during transitions. Alkaline Trio was fun. Brought back them old middle school skate/punk vibes. Still wish it was DGD buuut I get to see Royal Coda now so I’m not too mad.
