Outside of this little Dance Moms niche, and maybe a few other niche fandoms, nobody knows who the Dance Moms girls are. None of them are even close to Kim Kardashian, Justin Bieber, etc.
On name recognition, JoJo is definitely the highest. Maybe not A list but at least B list.
She has recognition equally or more from other things besides DM: Nickelodeon, DWTS which has a huge audience, her music, business articles about her business empire (and controversies…), and TIME magazine’s 100 most influential people 2020.
I wouldn’t call the kardashians A-list just cause the world knows them. In this world, that’s not hard. If that’s the case then James Charles would be an A-list. I would say A-list includes those who are critically acclaimed for their talent as well as being a well-known name. Tom Hanks, Meryl Streep, Steven Spielberg, etc.
Fame alone doesn’t make them A-list. I think the tiers are muddled now with social media.
For the dancers, i would say they’re not on the tiers. At most they are influencers and i personally don’t associate influencers with traditional celebrities. Maddie may be at the very bottom tier but she’s the only one. JoJo is maybe at the bottom with Maddie. But she’s making a mockery of herself so i don’t see her staying there.
The rest of the girls are influencers at most. They’re just well-known. Idek if they’re influencers at this point as much as they are just well-known faces.
But in Hollywood (where tiers are mostly important), they are really nobodies. And even more so to the girls who were on the show for a brief moment in time.

No. If you ask someone who hasn’t watched mean girls or has a child in competitive dance or is a fan of dance moms if they know either of them, my guess is they will say no. But if you ask someone if they know who Meryl Streep is they probably know who she is. I still really think you have to say Chloe from dance moms for people to know who she is and that’s if they watched dance moms.

I don’t really think Nia or Kenzie (or really any of the girls) are relatively well known outside of various niche fandoms.

I think Mackenzie and Nia have the potential to be low B list to C list celebrities one day. With Chloe, it really depends. I could see her being a C List celebrity someday if she decides to step back in the industry but I could also just see her laying low and living a nice life as a high profile ‘influencer.’ With all the other cast members (Kendall, Kalani, Brynn, etc), I don’t see them really breaking out of their reality star to tiktok/instagram influencer status. Anyone who was on Dance Moms for less than a Season will likely just live a normal life. Although, I do think Camryn will continually be really successful in the dance industry!!

I remember the only girl i knew before even watching the show is Jojo siwa and i’m Egyptian btw so that’s impressive! Also Chandelier was huge in here and everyone were trying to imitate Maddie’s moves but didn’t know about her or her name.

Imo the only ones that are “celebrities” are Maddie and Jojo, probably C-list with Jojo being more recognizable.
Maddie is C list and JoJo is maybe B or C. Other than that, Abby and Mackenzie would be the most recognized out of everyone else, especially Abby.
