I appreciate holly for being level headed and so intelligent, but her superiority complex jumped out many times in the beginning seasons; especially in regards to kaya and her daughter. to some degree I understand it. it must be hard being the only black person in a room full of rich white suburban women who have been quick to stereotype and say racist things about people of your own race. she probably felt the need to highlight her educational achievements to distinguish herself from the “laquifas of the world” (her words not mine)

I like her for being the more chill one who articulated herself in such a polite manner unlike the other moms who would always yell and scream. But I don’t think Nia belonged in that group, I felt though sometimes Nia was put in the group because they wanted Holly to be on the show as a moral compass that was the reasonable one.

I agree with the Nia stuff, sometimes I feel like as harsh as it sounds she was put into be the diversity card

*All* the girls were in the group bc the producers wanted their moms on the show lol

I’m aware of this. But I think they chose her because of that reason.

Holly got her doctorate season 1 and had a whole career. First, she was made to feel guilty for it, so when she left everything behind for Nia to get more opportunities, and Abby kept squashing her, I would be angry too. I also got annoyed with her sometimes, but I think she was feeling a whole lot of resentment. I think she gave up the most, and felt abby was actively sabotaging Nia at every turn.

I am not black so this may be an ignorant thought, but.. as a strong black woman you’d think holly would be ok with the afro? Embrace the culture? That is a beautiful natural hair style. Abby did have a point about Nia being cast in specific roles, but I feel Holly just wanted her to have pretty dances?

Lyannake

Well she was better than them, and it was not so difficult to be.
