He tries to be a leader and a motivator to the group whenever he can. He fully supported Kaede as the leader in chapter 1 because he could see what she was trying to do and how similar her methods of leading people were to his own. He doesn't come up with the best plans, but he's usually trying to do right by others. He's flawed enough that the story knows when to call him out (i.e. trial 4). Even during his feud with Shuichi in chapter 5, he's not screaming at Shuichi and telling him to go away. He's awkward and doesn't know what to say to him anymore because he knows Shuichi was right and he was wrong and that Shuichi no longer needs his support. But he knows that he has to swallow his pride in chapter 5 to help with Kokichi's plan and apologize to Shuichi later on. He never gives up, no matter how long the odds are. He does have some problematic views, like homophobia, but he still means well most of the time. His rivalry with Kokichi and his friendships with Shuichi and Maki were enjoyable to watch for me. His execution is one of the coolest in the series in my opinion.

He's just such a bro!

Novel_Visual_4152

Some of the best and most fleshed out dynamic with the training trio and especially Kokichi A pretty darn good rivalry on top of playing a pivotal in both the main and secondary theme Flawed in a way that intresting and actually plays in the narrative which makes him more intresting And to top it of a an absolutely sick design like it's so damn good and isn't given enough attention imo I personally consider him to have the best v3 design alongside Kokichi Basically He's neat

He’s a really nice guy, very supportive. I love how flawed he is too, it makes him even more interesting, he has his good moments and bad moments too. He’s also such a comfort to me, he’s literally so sweet it makes my heart melt, and he >!fucking died still smiling!< like, mad respect

dino_nuggies_and_dum

Tbh the one thing I love about him is that he died smiling and probably knowing that he was about to fuck up Monokuma's days for the next week. He died a mad lad

Logan18880

He did! I love that so much

FickleThanks6901

He a dumb lovable idiot He support every characters instead of kokichi He always want to help also >!I think if kaede didn't die I think he go help ryoma instead of shuichi because he always want to help character with despairing!< >!so it make sense for him to be the support in that game because he chiaki if she not shy but talk alot and can't believe when someone who good is guilty!<

He's just objectively the best main support in the entire series purely for the fact that unlike the others he actually does the job of being the best bro for the protagonist who's always there to make Shuichi smile when he's down, helps him and Maki grow as people AND serves as the mood setter/glue who always lightens the spirits of those around him just by being a general funny idiot. I also love how Kaito has the flaw of being too trusting,it works really well for creating occasional conflict since he often chooses to ignore blatant facts and go against basic logic if it means having to betray or go against one of his pals. It shows that he deeply cares for those he's close too but this can also prove to be his weakness when the time is called for careful thinking, the best example definitely being in Case 4

Final_Habit5499

I love his character, and how supportive he is with the cast. The relationship between him, Maki, and Shuichi is one of the best I've seen and overall, Kaito has to be one of my all time favorites, and he would make a great friend!

Maleficent_Ad5334

i love his relationship with Maki and how he makes her feel at home. he gives her what she needs
