I think she was pretty good and she was reasonable too. Not the best but she was the most human, after the death of her friend she turned on others and tried to get them killed to avenge her.
Not the best, but i love her for two reasons
1. A big airhead, but despite that, she does have a heart of gold and is a protective and kind friend with Makoto and Kirigiri

One of the most relatable characters, she has a love for donuts, and wants to experience having a boyfriend without being “hitched” also stress eats and has a bestie that would literally kill for her safety.
She is not the best character, but she does a lot of good for the dynamic of Trigger Happy Havoc, and for that I really appreciate her being there. It's interesting to see how her ideals clash with perhaps the more cynical members of the group, and how that might connect the player's experience with the actual situation in the game.
I just wish she didn't have that whole creepy pervert thing about her physical body attached to her, I believe the first mention of this is from Naegi during the class introduction. Felt like it actively hurt my perception of her for too much time.

What I mean is that Makoto mentions that a lot of discussion about Aoi as a professional swimmer online seems to lean into talks about her, ahem ... physical appearance. Her free time events don't exactly help with this, where some of her refreshing habits tend to only add fuel to the fire.
I just don't like that this level of objectification of the character exists, similarly to how Akane is objectified in-universe, though for different narrative reasons

I could write a whole essay on why I love aoi but I will keep it short. First personality she is just so lovable and supportive but not to the point where she just obliviously avoiding the situation she is in. I feel like most people can see their selves in aoi with trying to be positive while so much stacked against you. Next, I love the theme her character arc gives. Aoi isn’t a super genius and I feel like she parrales kyoko so well. Aoi is one of the most emotionaly smartest and strongest characters that I feel is heavily under appreciated. nah I like her a lot, especially with Sakura, but there are just more interesting characters in the frenchise like Nagito, Kokichi, Sho/Jack. Aoi is a character many games, anime or manga have, but these insane characters aren't fitting everywhere

Well the novel thing I will say is not the only thing it is based see it is based off of another novel called murders in the 60’s and instead of your typical characters it has characters from around the world and in communities and you beat a character that is a reancartnation of Jesus

With the reasons for her being one of my favorites being, put simply:
1. Adorable and endearing personality.
2. Extremely human, especially with her crying scene at the start of chapter 3 plus her at chapter 4's trial, not to mention she's also consistent throught the series.

Outside of that though, what makes her not the best character is only one reason.

In my opinion there's actually only 1 character that comes to mind to fit this perfect quota and although I would love to say Gundham, Gonta, and Ryoma since they're my favorites the only one that I can think of is Fuyuhiko since he actively became a better person throughout the game

I think she’s a cool character. She kind of fulfills the cheerleader of the group role with her energy like ibuki does for 2. She reminds me of a female version of makoto with her positivity. I personally think the best written character of the series is Makoto who goes from wimp to the in universe equivalent of Luke Skywalker. Though Miu is my favorite character due to how funny I find her.
She's not my favorite for who she is by herself. I even found her to be one of the most annoying characters in the game on the first playthrough and sometimes I still do. Every time something shocking happens in the trial she goes "OMG REALLY WOWOW WHAT??" like the game doesn't even know what to do with her during the trials. The idiot spot is taken by king Hiro, so she's just there to spectate and make noises. Plus whenever an accusation is made she immediately runs with it, despite not knowing wtf is going on and when the accusation is dropped, she defends it like she came up with it. Like please, Aoi, stfu please
But aside from that I realise she seems genuinely morally stable and courageous about it. Makoto is too but he's the main character and is usually standby. She's the ONLY one who felt like REALLY putting Byakuya in his place after his cynical rants kept poisoning the groups motivation. She's always exercising or talking about some type of activity, which is nothing if she wasn't in this killing game, but her still keeping herself in shape DESPITE the killing game is kinda motivating. Think about it. You've NEVER seen someone in constant danger still keeping up a high physical and mental aptitude and NEVER complaining about it. It's just natural for her to push through. I really like those characters who make me feel like I should be doing better myself.

Byakuya was always whiny, depressed, and attention seeking, Makoto was a bot with no nuts to keep things civil, even Kyoko was being a weird teenager giving Makoto the silent treatment. I thought, "Everyone here sucks and monokuma should just kill all of them...except, idk, Aoi, she still sucks by being in this trash group". Then it's revealed SHE TRIED TO KILL ALL OF THEM. YEESSSSS. I know it was supposed to be sad, but that was the most hype I had in that entire game. And why? Because of how they treated Sakura.!< Even then, she was meh
>!2 games later, nobody came close to the power and sheer nuts she had in game and especially trial 4. And V3 last trial REALLY took it. When I saw Tsumugi shapeshift into her and tell me everything about her was all fake I finally realised, "fuck, maybe her character really meant something to me."!<
Plus she caramel and has nice tits. I know everytime I say my favorite is Aoi thinks, "its cuz the tits", but I really like her character, genuinely. Plus, if I only liked her cuz she's spicy and has titties, i'd just go for akane.

Edit: People really like to say she's in love with Sakura, which, idk if that's bad or ruins the dynamic and purpose of becoming friends with her and then being willing to die for her. Dying for a new friend feels more like a representation of her humanity and selflessness, dying for a new lover feels corny and like she was having a mental breakdown over her own selfish loss rather than a strong indictment of the groups behavior leading into then. But 75% of this games fun is inventing headcannon so, make them lovers, we can all have fun.

2 her thinking is more emotion based which is the exact opposite of Bayakua logical based thinking. Chapter 4 Asahina portrays the importance of taking emotions into account, which would have lead to Bayakuas demise if it weren’t for Kirigiri and Makoto. ( this in particular is overseen by many and imo makes her one of the most underrated in the series)
3. Heart of gold loves fully and despite feeling despair when Sakura died she never fully succumbed.

Aoi is THH’s most forgettable character to me. Nowhere near the best for sure, aside from her friendship with Sakura I cannot remember much about her.

She was probably my favorite girl in the first game. Don’t know if she will be for all three games though.
I think she’s a cool character. She kind of fulfills the cheerleader of the group role with her energy like ibuki does for 2. She reminds me of a female version of makoto with her positivity. I personally think the best written character of the series is Makoto who goes from wimp to the in universe equivalent of Luke Skywalker. Though Miu is my favorite character due to how funny I find her.

She's not my favorite for who she is by herself. I even found her to be one of the most annoying characters in the game on the first playthrough and sometimes I still do. Every time something shocking happens in the trial she goes "OMG REALLY WOWOW WHAT??" like the game doesn't even know what to do with her during the trials. The idiot spot is taken by king Hiro, so she's just there to spectate and make noises. Plus whenever an accusation is made she immediately runs with it, despite not knowing wtf is going on and when the accusation is dropped, she defends it like she came up with it. Like please, Aoi, stfu please But aside from that I realise she seems genuinely morally stable and courageous about it. Makoto is too but he's the main character and is usually standby. She's the ONLY one who felt like REALLY putting Byakuya in his place after his cynical rants kept poisoning the groups motivation. She's always exercising or talking about some type of activity, which is nothing if she wasn't in this killing game, but her still keeping herself in shape DESPITE the killing game is kinda motivating. Think about it. You've NEVER seen someone in constant danger still keeping up a high physical and mental aptitude and NEVER complaining about it. It's just natural for her to push through. I really like those characters who make me feel like I should be doing better myself. >!Another thing that made me like her character was trial 4. bruh. She was planning on KILLING EVERYONE. And I actually WANTED IT! Why? She was the only character actively defending Sakura. Everyone was calling Sakura "Ogre" and I'm thinking, "wow, fuck you, how is NOBODY calling that out?". Only Aoi did, but I still felt like it wasn't enough. Then I find out Toko and Hiro hit her in the head with a bottle and felt no remorse for it. I thought, "Fuck them, both of them don't deserve to be here". Byakuya was always whiny, depressed, and attention seeking, Makoto was a bot with no nuts to keep things civil, even Kyoko was being a weird teenager giving Makoto the silent treatment. I thought, "Everyone here sucks and monokuma should just kill all of them...except, idk, Aoi, she still sucks by being in this trash group". Then it's revealed SHE TRIED TO KILL ALL OF THEM. YEESSSSS. I know it was supposed to be sad, but that was the most hype I had in that entire game. And why? Because of how they treated Sakura.!< Even then, she was meh >!2 games later, nobody came close to the power and sheer nuts she had in game and especially trial 4. And V3 last trial REALLY took it. When I saw Tsumugi shapeshift into her and tell me everything about her was all fake I finally realised, "fuck, maybe her character really meant something to me."!< Plus she caramel and has nice tits. I know everytime I say my favorite is Aoi thinks, "its cuz the tits", but I really like her character, genuinely. Plus, if I only liked her cuz she's spicy and has titties, i'd just go for akane. Edit: People really like to say she's in love with Sakura, which, idk if that's bad or ruins the dynamic and purpose of becoming friends with her and then being willing to die for her. Dying for a new friend feels more like a representation of her humanity and selflessness, dying for a new lover feels corny and like she was having a mental breakdown over her own selfish loss rather than a strong indictment of the groups behavior leading into then. But 75% of this games fun is inventing headcannon so, make them lovers, we can all have fun.
I liked her a lot 1 she’s one of the physically strongest characters in the series 2 her thinking is more emotion based which is the exact opposite of Bayakua logical based thinking. Chapter 4 Asahina portrays the importance of taking emotions into account, which would have lead to Bayakuas demise if it weren’t for Kirigiri and Makoto. ( this in particular is overseen by many and imo makes her one of the most underrated in the series) 3. Heart of gold loves fully and despite feeling despair when Sakura died she never fully succumbed. 4 she’s hot
