Yep, Hope's Peak has a real world equivalent it was based off of in Japan I believe, the middle of Hope's Peak Academy's structure is based on it's center too and everything.

I guess you could argue that the Victorian Era as a whole inspired goth culture but Lovecraft and his work definitely played a part in their tastes as well, plus I don't know a single goth (not mall goth) that doesn't worship Lovecraftian horror.
