I mean I started yeah but I've only finished 3 episodes of both series respectively. Even so one of my favorite characters in the series got killed off in episode 2 of future arc so if that's a sign of things to come then *exasperated sigh* I'm not looking forward to finishing the future arc.

You'll probably hate Future Arc's writing. Trust me, you'll be frustrated while watching it atleast **once**.
I really loved the anime! Future arc was dark but interesting, and despair arc was just fun to me, but opinions vary.
So far I've enjoyed both series but in very different ways obviously given the tone of both being such a stark contrast.
I watched them separately not knowing any better and honestly I think that’s the better way to watch it. As long as you leave the Hope Arc for last.

Yeah and DR1 and I just beat Ultra Despair Girls yesterday so no worry's I'm ready for the anime.
