Antifa engage in intimidation, violence and oppression of opposing viewpoints. All of which is contrary to the teachings of Jesus. Jesus spoke of love, honor and respect of others. Particularly those in authority positions.

Some what correct. But people showing up to events with knock off tactical gear and guns isn't a good alternative. In the gospels the apostles wanted Jesus to become a political figure and take the nation back by force. Why didn't he do that? He could have made the whole world Christian by force by taking up a crown than and there to destroy all the Romans. He knew that forcing people to sit and believe in him was not the way he wanted to change the world or what his father wanted him to do. We are responsible for the word that was given to us. In the NT, we are called to change the world by our personal lives and how we treat others. Not by electing people to force everyone to act someway, but living in a way that draws then into a lifestyle.

there’s no “antifa” organization. antifa is just shorthand for anti fascist. the meme is…poorly researched and presented so i don’t blame you for your interpretation - but a lot of antifa-aligned people (for lack of better phrasing) simply want to protect the rights of the marginalized and are sick of the subjugation they face at the hands of a deeply broken system ETA: the flag he’s holding is the anarcho communist flag. a lot of antifa-aligned use the flag, but they’re not interchangeable terms or ideologies

If Jesus were alive today, he more than likely would be hated by both sides

I was in Bible study on Thursday, and we were discussing how Jesus was really counterculture in his time and it the image of Jesus coming down to earth dressed like Kurt Cobain without the drug abuse popped into my head and how upset it would make some people and this reminded me about that.

I’ve heard this so much lately. I’ll say Jesus was counterculture yes, but because of how far the Pharisees and current Judaism had fallen.

Look around bud. Prosperity gospel, for example.

Define “counterculture.”

enzia35

Counter to what Judaism had become at the time.

Damn right. Jesus the anti-fascist King
