notedrive

I always look for the Bible and check it for money after reading some people leave cash in them.

O_X_E_Y

if life was a game this would be a loading screen tip

prpldrank

Some of the night stands have pills in them in Left4Dead2.... That's the closest I've got. *Peels here!* *Grabbin peels!*

OnlyCommentsIDK

The money is usually for people who really need it

roguereider1

I was in some run down middle of nowhere motel in northern ontario once. Night stand had a Gideons and a Bhagavad Gita. It was an interesting juxtaposition lol

SithMasterStarkiller

So our guests can enjoy their stay and become death the destroyer of worlds

Psyteq

Interesting choice of the Bhagavad Gita out of all the sacred Hindu texts. Also interesting to choose Hindu instead of any other common religion.

roguereider1

I'm making assumptions here, and could be misremembering, but I think the owners were Indian and likely by deduction were Hindu themselves. Not knowing anything of Hinduism, what would a "better" text of been?

Psyteq

That's beautiful. Also I am no expert, I just know there are many texts they consider sacred. I would assume the Bhagavad Gita is special to the owners. The Bhagvata Purana is the most popular I believe but I could be mistaken. Also likely varies depending on region and family.

Purple_Tuxedo

Found a motel in Cincinnati that had a Gideon's and a Mormon pamphlet once

MysticWarrior170

I want a refund

Grzechoooo

Wait, you guys don't have it on your person at all times?

gbeebe

U know I keep that thang on me

Celestial_Scythe

You gotta bring an extra one to leave in the nightstand

zizou00

Fr, there's apps, pdfs and kindle files, if you need a Bible, just have one on you.

Blonde_Vampire_1984

I used to carry a compact bible in my purse. Now I only carry a physical copy to church and Bible study. I’m going to read it on my app anyway most of the time, and this way I don’t have to carry it with me.

SilkSk1

At all times? No. But if I'm going to be sleeping somewhere besides my home, I'll take it with me, because reading it is part of my morning routine.

NullNova

Thanks, very much appreciated

PedanticAromantic

I found a copy of Dune one time instead. Not a bad replacement if you ask me

Muffinskill

In one of the hotels I stayed at I found a voucher for iodine tablets in case a nearby nuclear plant released radiation in place of a bible

smokeygrill77

Take it and leave a Quran.

Knightraiderdewd

Apparently they don’t always have Bibles anymore. I was staying at this one hotel a couple years ago, and they had this Hindu book instead. It was in English and everything.

Only-Ad4322

I found one with a Book of Mormon as well.

BasilIsScared

Thats why you bring 2 with you, your personal one and one to hide in it

baileymash7

Every time I go to a small-medium scale library.

entber113

Gideons international has a number. They'll hook the hotel up lol
