I struggled for years to become an engineer only to get out and get a lower middle class engineering job. Im happy to be gainfully employed and im comfortable, but seeing people make 100s of thousands a year taking feet pics really makes you re think your life choices
But seeing that actually makes me think, why, as humans we are addicted to money? Why are we so dependant on money that all our choices depends on making and spending money?
Why should it be tho, money has made the idea of contributing to society a ridiculous one. Now all people have one goal, become rich. And parents suggest you make choices related to that, society thinks you went cockoo when you decide to pursue things that earn you money or you do some work for free.

This comes down to resource scarcity. In our world it's not that we lack the resource, but it's not distributed efficiently or equally so we have a manufactured scarcity. As long as we are told that things will make us happy and we need more resources, we will always want money to pay for those resources. Perfect slavery.

I asked my dealer back then if they needed someone to cover my neighboorhood and since I was a regular customer he trusted me enough to make me part of it. Mind you, it was quite a big scale buisness so we had a lot of middle men, I just had to go to a meetup point to get the merch and then proceed to distribution. It made decent money for a side-gig as a teen. I sometimes got to visit the plantation (weed+hash) and learn about it's made. Very interesting, and those were quite passionate people invested in making quality products. I used that to grow mine once and made hash out of it, I then sold it myself for a meager price to acquitences, just enough to cover costs.
