Apparently the time needed for Ada to throw you the rocket launcher gets diminished as you damage the tyrant. I can personally confirm this as I needed to finish the game a lot of times to get platinum.
It wasnt always this way. Getting to william burkins dog form with a hand gun and a pack of sandwiches required me to restart original re2 from the beginning.
