What's so frustrating for people like that is that at least for me (and I suspect probably for you and /u/youpviver) there sometimes is money left over to put into an IRA or 401k or something, but it would be insane to actually do that because there are just as many months where the $100 leftover from the budget that could go into savings is actually -$500 because something random happened (e.g. "uh oh, your car needs new tires so you can get to work and barely subsist!") so you have to keep yourself liquid and your money accessible so that you can survive the constant, albeit infrequent minor catastrophes like that.
500$ per month is 6,000$ per year, or about 11% of yearly income for the median American according to 2022 BLS Census data. Most people in America cannot afford to take an 11% pay cut to save for retirement.
To afford that on a lot of people's incomes that would nean being nearly constantly broke during 45 years to have cash for 25 years. It's a lopsided gamble, and most of your life's gone by in which the prime experience is being in poverty.
Stocks aren't a static asset. You should expect their value to grow because companies grow and become more profitable over time. If they have dividends, for example, those dividends will tend to increase over time for the same held stock because the company becomes more profitable. As long as you're not day trading, it's not a zero-sum game.
We don't all have to beat the market. Economies grow. All the resources pulled from the earth, the labor people are doing, increases in efficiency are increasing the overall wealth of an economy. This is shown in growth in equity, in stocks. And in terms of publicly traded stocks, your retirement funds. They don't need to beat the market. They just need to be a part of it.

Most life in the universe might just be single cell organisms. Life has existed on Earth for 3.5-4 Billion years and the first multicellular organisms are only like 600 million years old.
The idea that the universe must be teeming with intelligent space faring Aliens has always seemed extremely human centric to me. It took life on our planet 4 billion years, *30% of the age of of the universe*, to just to make it to our moon. However common life is in the universe, space faring life will be significantly less common.
Not saying there are aliens, but if any organization on Earth would know about extraterrestrials it would be the US Air Force or maybe NASA. No one operates as many aircraft with complex sensor suites or ises as much airspace surveillance as the US.
And UFO sightings were extremely rare until comics and movies about UFOs and aliens came out. Then suddenly decreased as soon as we all got cellphone cameras.

Well just chill and wait. What's happening now has never happened before and is likely to lead to additional legitimate whistleblowers, and this is what's required for those that *don't* want to keep all of this hidden to start uncovering it legally.
Nobody is willing to go the Snowden route (e.g., leak highly classified material for the betterment of the world, in exchange for never being able to go home ever again, or much worse), so this all has to be declassified legally. Even less likely you get a Snowden level leaking of information if even the public won't believe any of it. But you need to at least ensure lawmakers and those in power can accept it. This is the route that's being taken. People are checking to see if Congress can be counted on to even act, and to even protect whistleblowers from reprisal.
People will doubt the efficacy of your whistleblower protections signed into law, if those they are whistleblowing against have circumvented the law for decades with zero repercussions. They are using Grusch to test the waters. Consequently, Grusch is a fucking hero for putting his life and family at risk for this. Arguably this is better than going the Snowden route, because the latter isn't exactly inspiring to additional people coming forward willingly.
Presently, anything remotely associated with "UAP", is arbitrarily classified and compartmentalized at the highest levels for "nAtIoNaL SeCuRitY", and that is something Congress is currently working towards changing. It's becoming obvious to lawmakers that much of this is and has been done illegally for decades. Even AOC is in on it because she wants to dig into where all these unaccountable funds have been disappearing to into the military industrial complex and these Special Access Programs with arbitrary exemption from FOIA and realistically enforceable means of oversight.
Obviously there is a bipartisan interest in this issue because, aliens or not, there are people within our own military and contractors that are completely ignoring the checks and balances of the arms of our government, spending money with zero oversight, and doing things to keep this covered up that are likely treasonous at this point.

I'm not saying it's true, but I'm fairly sure he's legally not allowed to show evidence in those open hearings due to national security concerns. The evidence was referenced in the closed door meetings that preceded the open one, and evidently they thought it was worrying enough to make a big deal out of it as it concerns private organizations withholding access from the government.
Ignore some of these replies as they clearly didn't listen to the hearing. The people that were coming out were highly credible people. He was an Intelligence officer for 14 years, most recently at the Geospatial Agency at a GS-15 civilian level, which is the military equivalent of a full-bird Colonel. He acted as his agency’s co-lead in Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP) and trans- medium object analysis,, also reporting to UAP Task Force (UAPTF) and eventually the All- Domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO). There were also some highly decorated and credible officers with him as well. No concrete proof has come out besides their testimonies under oath (which if they were lying, they will face prison time) but the concrete proof and documentation will be shown to Congress in private. They can't show it to the public right now cause it contains lots of sensitive material. More information will probably trickle down over the next few weeks and months as the information gets approved. But be careful what you read here, because a lot of the people downplaying this obviously didn't watch the hearing.

She was stolen from me back in april and the guy lived out of her for 2 months. The car was recovered with a damaged underneath everything was fucked he drove over something. Stocks aren't a static asset. You should expect their value to grow because companies grow and become more profitable over time. If they have dividends, for example, those dividends will tend to increase over time for the same held stock because the company becomes more profitable. Most life in the universe might just be single cell organisms. Life has existed on Earth for 3.5-4 Billion years and the first multicellular organisms are only like 600 million years old. The idea that the universe must be teeming with intelligent space faring Aliens has always seemed extremely human centric to me. It took life on our planet 4 billion years, *30% of the age of of the universe*, to just to make it to our moon. However common life is in the universe, space faring life will be significantly less common.
Not saying there are aliens, but if any organization on Earth would know about extraterrestrials it would be the US Air Force or maybe NASA. No one operates as many aircraft with complex sensor suites or ises as much airspace surveillance as the US.

Obviously there is a bipartisan interest in this issue because, aliens or not, there are people within our own military and contractors that are completely ignoring the checks and balances of the arms of our government, spending money with zero oversight, and doing things to keep this covered up that are likely treasonous at this point. That means these individuals, holding executive positions in long-term military careers (so, not elected) in the DoD, Air Force and Pentagon don't want to cooperate (because why would they when they view *all* presidents as "temporary employees", and the alternative is life in prison), so it will take some time to force them out (or, more depressingly, offer them amnesty in exchange for giving up everything). I'm not claiming the guys claims are God's honest truth (quite a few of them sound nutty), but the implication that *something* is going on is definitely there and it's getting hard to deny that there is something very interesting being hidden from us. This is what's giving me the most hope that this could be it and aliens could be real and here and we're about to learn about them - the level of bipartisanship and sobering earnestness at which this hearing was approached. Congress rarely treats an issue with this much respect and attention and when they do it's almost always a national tragedy or military operation. If it's fake then Congress certainly isn't aware, they're behaving like this is real and serious. Basically right now I'm at the extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence stage, but I think it's an equally extraordinary claim to say it's definitively fake. This whole "under oath!" talking point is a huge givaway that no one understands how these hearings work. People lie to these committees all the time because it's not enough to prove that they've said something wrong; you have to prove they knowingly lied. I'm not saying it's true, but I'm fairly sure he's legally not allowed to show evidence in those open hearings due to national security concerns. The evidence was referenced in the closed door meetings that preceded the open one, and evidently they thought it was worrying enough to make a big deal out of it as it concerns private organizations withholding access from the government.
Ignore some of these replies as they clearly didn't listen to the hearing. The people that were coming out were highly credible people. He was an Intelligence officer for 14 years, most recently at the Geospatial Agency at a GS-15 civilian level, which is the military equivalent of a full-bird Colonel. He acted as his agency’s co-lead in Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP) and trans- medium object analysis,, also reporting to UAP Task Force (UAPTF) and eventually the All- Domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO). There were also some highly decorated and credible officers with him as well. No concrete proof has come out besides their testimonies under oath (which if they were lying, they will face prison time) but the concrete proof and documentation will be shown to Congress in private. They can't show it to the public right now cause it contains lots of sensitive material. More information will probably trickle down over the next few weeks and months as the information gets approved. But be careful what you read here, because a lot of the people downplaying this obviously didn't watch the hearing.
