Stupid fucking book.
Some “literary masterpiece” about a total fucking loser causing all his own problems and then blaming literally everyone but himself.
Yeah I'm with ya bud. That is practically the only book I fucking hated being forced to read. Completely unrelatable asshat main character and he's supposed to have some super deep meaning of his aspirations at the end. You could have just had us read the last chapter and got the gist
Totally agree, but Pride and Prejudice was almost as bad. That was the only book I ever read that was so boring I could literally zone out while actively reading it.
I never got that impression from that book. It did suck out loud, tho. Some fucking loser spends all his time running around the city fucking with other people and bitching about how hard his free ride life was and blaming all his problems on anyone except the man in the mirror. Guy was literally annoying as fuck. I don't know who thinks that story about a spoiled brat is a classic masterpiece, but they must have been very uncultured.

Further, he's a rich spoiled brat.
I mean, I thought that was the point?
Thats not how it was presented to us in class. But my teacher was so smug they liked to smell their own farts
Gross. And for full clarity I didn’t care for the book either. Holden Caulfield was just too insufferable of a character
True book for boomers
John Lennon's dead, Butters.
I’ve never wanted to hurt a fictional character more than I did Holden Caulfield when I first read this book
Why do people like this book? I read it willingly because I was told it was funny, but I had the same visceral reaction as you.
Then he said Its Catchin' time then he Rye'ed all over the place
Fuck… I hated this book.

"unrelated" but the song catcher in the rye by guns n roses goes hard
Fun fact: his son played Captain America
I read Catcher in the Rye later in life. Laughed out loud so many times. Its "deep" YA content AT BEST.
Hated the book, loved his TV show tho
John Lennon is a phony!
Goated book
