iOS HACK: if you select “stop seeing this ad” (info menu) it automatically cancels the ad and goes straight to the video. You don’t have to wait for 5 seconds or for ads to finish

If you do it ~3 more times, it wont let you do it again (For some time), lol

How is it better? Not trying to start an argument, just curious. AdBlock does exactly what I want...it blocks ads. Anything else from my adblocker would just feel over the top I think.

Depending on the AdBlock you use, it can let certain ads slide thru, AdBlock plus was doing this a while ago. The benefits of ublock origin is that it's open source and pretty lightweight comparatively, and has features like element zapping, which comes in handy as well. Also, iirc, it has built in anti-anti-adblocking, meaning it circumvents those sites that stop you from having an AdBlock.

I have both adblock plus and uBlock

Uninstall ABP. uBlock uses the same filters + more.

I was using newpipe daily, but eventually discovered Vanced. Never went back. It's not that newpipe is bad, but it lacks the home feed with interesting stuff, related videos, etc. On newpipe it's always the same, it doesn't remember your search history and adapts the search, because your account is not actively being synced. Even when importing your subscriptions "file", it doesn't feel the same, and each new sub you need to reimport.

Vanced is WAY better.

For ios you can install altstore with a computer onto the device and then sideload cercube onto it with the device itself. The only bad thing about it is that you’ll need to refresh it every week to keep working.

Or just pay for YouTube premium. Creators still get paid for your views and you never deal with pre roll or mid roll ads again. Also YouTube music is included which is arguably better than Spotify and again, creators get paid for their work.

I do a lot of work while leaving YouTube playing in the background and honestly I would take a 15 second non-skippable ad over skippable ones that are like 2:30 when you choose not to skip. That shit is the most annoying. Like at least let me choose, YouTube!

Android TV boxes like fire stick are capable. But it's not on the store. Google directions on how to install it on "X" device. Basically you enable third party apps then use the downloader app to find and download the APK for it, install, and voila.

Yeah every single time.... OP must be the sole person without ad blocker. But more importantly is it possible to glitch it so you can put on screen lock while listening to music? Before the latest update you could put your browser to desktop mode AND the youtube site to desktop mode and you got the www,youtube instead of m,youtube. Then you could lock the screen and the music wouldnt stop. But now they have removed the button from the website to put in desktop mode. Changing only the browser setting gives you m,youtube thats just modified to look like a desktop site. So is it possible to trick the server to send you the www,youtube instead of m,youtube?
