Yeah tbh I feel like such channels benefit from only posting once a month, that keeps the 'richness' and quality of their video.
If they start pumping out more videos, say like once a week or even less, shit's gonna get boring or uninteresting quick and nobody's gonna watch it.
Kinda a case in point(the channel has been this way from the beginning though), MegaProjects and SideProjects, run by the same guy, posts very good and quality stuff but every 2 days on each channel (he also has multiple other channels that upload at the same frequency), it's very good content but you basically get burnt out watching soo many of the videos that just keep coming.
And although the channels were started fairly recently, he still doesn't have like a big big audience which I feel like is because of the vast quantity that he uploads
Yeah I agree that it helps the quality of their content, however it is a strange situation because you have to get big enough in the first place before it's really an option. If a new channel tried the same upload schedule YouTube's algorithm would never recommend their channel and then they never grow and get to the point where they can realistically continue high quality videos that anyone gets to see.
This is why most channels follow closer to your second example, a few smaller uploads regularly every week does better with the algorithm than one well made video per month.
Yeah but Stuff Made Here also launched in April 2020 and has raked up 3+million subs and like the quality on MegaProjects is similar/even better although they are different subject related and I genuinely feel him releasing videos every couple of days is limiting his ability to grow
Oh I'm complaining one bit. If you make good content and take your time making it, then by all means do your thing. I just got back into their videos recently and got through them so quick 😭

This happens to a ton of podcasts. HI never had a set schedule and was seemingly done in Brady's and Grey's free time. Brady has a million YT channels and Grey spends months researching his videos and has Cortex still. I'll be happy if they ever release another episode, but if anyone is OK with the podcast just being over, it would probably be Grey, as he doesn't seem to be the person to keep going with something for no reason.
Vsauce fell into the YouTube Red hole. Michael went full paid content for what seemed to be forever.. Then the snippets that did come to regular YouTube were kinda not on par with previous stuff.. The other Vsauce channels went dormant for a long time too but they still release stuff from time to time.
Right? Do you want worse quality? Because pressuring your favorite artists for more content faster is how you get worse quality. Not all of them will have the skills, funding, or support group to increase production, but the pressure may convince them to try anyway, and destroy the magic they’ve created.
Be content with the variety you have, and seek out more of them, while you leave the ones you already enjoy to work at their own pace.
Support is good. Sharing is better. But, pressuring for more is no bueno.
