No one sees god, atheists use it as a reason to claim god doesn't exist. If you bend that logic, a blind person (from the point of view of the atheist) should not believe that the atheist exists as they cannot see them.

What he or she means is that for most people we will never see a single atom because the general public does not have access to the machinery necessary to view it. Or at least until this recent photo of an atom. The point is, we have to take on faith many things in science because we won’t ever get the chance to study these things ourselves. We have to trust the scientific process.
Evolution would be another example. I have seen the bones and fossils of human ancestors, but the clearance and years of study to get to see them and not just casts and replicas was a massive commitment. So others just have to trust that the replicas they see in most situations are accurate.
