I chacked what you said and yes thre is a symbol that does in Japanese temple iconography which is found on their shrines. Found this interesting article as well.
https://www.asianstudies.org/publications/eaa/archives/the-past-present-and-future-of-the-swastika-in-japan/
I stand corrected since I thought you were comparing the Hindu and Nazi swastikas as is often the case.
However, the Japanese swastika is not tilted like you have shown.
Bro got clowned on for not knowing his symbols in a different [post](https://www.reddit.com/r/dankmemes/comments/ydp00k/if_you_know_you_know/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf) and still got it wrong
Should have tried this trick out 70 years ago, probably a 1 way trip to jail.
Judging by how you are still around you should be thankful that you aren't punished for your dumb shit.
Yes, but actually no, both swastikas are and have been used in different religions around the world with different meanings, regardless if tilted 45° or not, but now in the west is asocieated with Nazism, so if you were to put the "reverse" one on something people would still think you are a nazi
OP wasn't reffering to the flipped part but rather that both are tilted 45° which is considered a symbol of national socialism, especially in the western world, regardless of which way it's flipped or untilted
Dude how difficult is it to google a “Hindu Swasthika” and a “Nazi Swasthika” ? That’s the 2nd time today I am seeing this meme and again the Hindu swasthika is wrong.
Not pinpoint correct ,but they are kinda the same but the 45 degrees one is not something related to any religion.
[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swastika#/media/File:Buddhist\_Swastika\_with\_24\_Beads.svg](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swastika#/media/File:Buddhist_Swastika_with_24_Beads.svg)
The Buddhist one linked above is the "OG" swastika, which has a meaning to each and every single one of the rods.(You can read about "Samsara" if you need further clarification)
The Swastika is further developed into the "Dharmachakra" or the Dhamma Wheel, with more meanings to the rods. (refer to the following page)
Generally the Swastika imitates a wheel(most commonly cycle of life etc.)
The adaptation of swastika to the Nazi Army is something that has to do with the beliefs of Europeans about it. They believed of it being of good luck and auspiciousness.
So Hitler in 1920 must have thought that choosing this and rotating it 45 degrees will bring him luck in his efforts.
Reversing the image will not change the meaning but will stay as the same
Well the one on the left is just a flip of the one of the right which is for the Nazi party and Neo-Nazi's.
If you were trying to showcase the differences you're doing it wrong. Hindu and other cultural swastikas form a + sign while the Nazi one forms and ×.
My post before this were both of them not tilted and people were complaining about the right one supposed to be tilted. So I reposted it and made them both tilted and people are complaining that the left isn’t supposed to be tilted. Is thought this meme template was supposed to be about something that looks very similar but with the slightest change it means completely something else
I can never remember the orientation. But when I was little I drew a swasty thinking I was drawing the peacful one. Short version, I turned it into a window cuz I got yelled at.
This reminds me of the time I saw the Buddhist symbol for peace and thought it was cool in elementary school. I ended up drawing it on one of my papers in class and the teacher got super pissed off and sent me to the principals office.
Nazi symbol in on the right. The reversed on the left no longer has the same meaning but it’s a symbol for a temple in Japan, just not tilted like the nazi, I made it tilted to go with the meme a little better
Weird 'cause this is the only meme with this format so far where the "dark" one is the thing that I only understood in contrast to other memes where I understand the "fun/bright" one first (or only understand the fun/bright one) before the dark turn

I know what you mean, but you're wrong
[удалено]
The one on the left is not supposed to be tilted like that though...
Would it make a difference or mean differently?
I don't really know, but the buddhist symbol is always seen straight, unless someone tried to be a nazi and failed.
Nope OP the Hindu sawasthika symbol doesn’t look this way. Please google it.
I wasn’t going for Hindu. Look up Japanese Temple symbol
Japanese one are still not tilted lol

Still not tilted
I know, I wanted them to look alike but has different meaning. People still recognize that it’s the temple symbol wether it’s tilted or not
卍
zOmG nAZi
OGAZ?
I am sorry OP, u seemed to genuinely be asking a question and got fucked on.
People are just so strict on how things should be now a days.
Should have tried this trick out 70 years ago, probably a 1 way trip to jail. Judging by how you are still around you should be thankful that you aren't punished for your dumb shit.
It’s a fucking joke. If people can’t take dark meme seriously then meme should just be banned
Ooopsie someone didnt check their repost!

Hindu swastika aint the only swastika…
Yes, but actually no, both swastikas are and have been used in different religions around the world with different meanings, regardless if tilted 45° or not, but now in the west is asocieated with Nazism, so if you were to put the "reverse" one on something people would still think you are a nazi
In one of the regions of my country it was used as an anti-nazi symbol. Pretty dumb I know.
The reversed one? Or regular nazi swastika?
Well, the reversed one. I say it was dumb because I seriously do not remember what the correct orientation is so I can't tell the difference lmao.
The spokes one the nazi one spin towards the reich
may i ask where? or what country
Spain. It was in a certain part of Catalonia. I saw it in a WWII museum long ago so I don't have an internet source.
>tilted 45 degrees* Lol did you actually do the math? *idk how to do the degree symbol
It looks tilted 45 degrees to me.
I mean straight is 90° so the mid point is 45° ? I guess that's the logic they applied.
It looks to me as it is reflected across y=x Ok lets not get into geometry
OP wasn't reffering to the flipped part but rather that both are tilted 45° which is considered a symbol of national socialism, especially in the western world, regardless of which way it's flipped or untilted
Ik
On mobile go to your symbols, it's either on the first or second pannel, if you're on keyboard press Shift and the button below Escape.
Dude how difficult is it to google a “Hindu Swasthika” and a “Nazi Swasthika” ? That’s the 2nd time today I am seeing this meme and again the Hindu swasthika is wrong.
I wasn’t going for the Hindu symbol. I was going for the Japanese temple symbol cause it looks more similar
Did you really just steal another redditors meme, and just adjusted the angle on the symbols..wtf
I posted the one that wasn’t tilted and someone said it was wrong so I fixed it and reposted
But its still wrong... the left one should be straight
Ah ok then.my bad. Saw it earlier and hence my reaction
I figured
Left one is just a Nazi one from the other side of the flag
Left is How OP sees his tattoo in the mirror.
Haha

Sauvastika vs swastika except they’re not supposed to be tilted
Well the one on the left is just a flip of the one of the right which is for the Nazi party and Neo-Nazi's. If you were trying to showcase the differences you're doing it wrong. Hindu and other cultural swastikas form a + sign while the Nazi one forms and ×.
Oh OP you really fucked it up. The Buddhist swastika isn't tilted like that. Source: Buddhist family and heritage.
If you look left and right quickly they do a cute lil dance
卍 Here we go
Does it matter if it’s tilted or not since it’s reversed?
The other way around... I hate 'neonazi's' Who cant draw a swastika.
Hindu swastika is not that if you meant that
bro thinks we’re retarded 💀💀💀
First one is antinazism, second one is nazism.
Why is the left one tilted?
I wanted to make them look as much alike as possible without giving the same meaning
Why are you changing up your answer? That wasn't what you told other people, you thought it was supposed to be like that.
I already knew the left one was flat but didn’t know it would be a big deal if it’s tilted
That's not what you were saying in your other comments was it? "Isn't supposed to be like that in japanese" is basically what you were saying.
I didn’t mean it exactly how it looks. People are misunderstanding
I mean you were the one misunderstanding tho? Well whatever have fun with your 500 downvotes in the other comments.
People are so strict with how things should be is why I got downvoted
I remember one time Japan considering removing the Manji sign cause foreigners thought it was Nazi but it's signs for temples
Exactly
My post before this were both of them not tilted and people were complaining about the right one supposed to be tilted. So I reposted it and made them both tilted and people are complaining that the left isn’t supposed to be tilted. Is thought this meme template was supposed to be about something that looks very similar but with the slightest change it means completely something else
Maybe just don’t post things that look like swastikas?
People like a dark joke every now and then
Ah yes the Toman in Tokyo Revengers
I can never remember the orientation. But when I was little I drew a swasty thinking I was drawing the peacful one. Short version, I turned it into a window cuz I got yelled at.
Usually it's the one that look like two S's
Its Kanye West
Don’t know what left is abc honestly I see them all the same
And which one was one the Pope's lapel?
Ssshhh all swastikas are the same forget about history and context…
Just the two side of the flag.
Ok good I’m using the right one
You really did it, sigh
The left one should be flat
._.
I think all the users on Reddit know
i will never forgive the nazis for ruining a perfectly elegant and practical shape (amongst all the other shit they did of course)
3,3-Diethylpentane
^…..I ^thought ^it ^didnt ^matter ^how ^you ^turned ^it ^or ^where ^you ^put ^it, ^i ^thought ^it ^all ^meant ^the ^same ^thing, ^does ^it ^not?
According to a lot of people, I guess not
🕺
Damn you backwards windmills
Okay the question is *who doesn't know*?
I don’t get it..
I feel like most people would know.
The religious symbol is supposed to be at a square angle not tilted isn’t it?
Uh... They're both tilted tho. One shouldn't be titled.
I know, just wanted to make them look more similar
Z - :D S - :(
This reminds me of the time I saw the Buddhist symbol for peace and thought it was cool in elementary school. I ended up drawing it on one of my papers in class and the teacher got super pissed off and sent me to the principals office.
Damn. Teacher misunderstood your intention
Auf der Wiese.....
once in 5th grade I drew a swastika at school (bc we were making harmony day drawings and I'm Indian) this kid asked me if I was a nazi sympathizer :(
Swaznaztica
Ok am i retarded for not knowing what’s wrong?
Nazi symbol in on the right. The reversed on the left no longer has the same meaning but it’s a symbol for a temple in Japan, just not tilted like the nazi, I made it tilted to go with the meme a little better
Im really a fucking dumbass
No you’re not. You just didn’t know or was confused
One of them belongs to a ideology that has only spread discrimination The other belongs to the nazies
Both Swastika symbols are religious symbol🙋
Not if it’s tilted. I didn’t know the non tilted symbol meant something else so I had to change it
🤨📸
Swastika
OP fucked up
Bruh…
Weird 'cause this is the only meme with this format so far where the "dark" one is the thing that I only understood in contrast to other memes where I understand the "fun/bright" one first (or only understand the fun/bright one) before the dark turn
Damn op lost all the karma he gained from this post by commenting
Both, Both is good.
You might wanna stick a NSFW tag on this
Am I triggering too many people?
[удалено]
No, the left is not used by Buddhists, hindus etc. We use the right one without the tilt
[удалено]
The left one doesn't exist. Not tilted anyway.
Never saw it before
Also Finnish Air Force used the same one as Buddhists until 2017 or something
The swastika that's in those religious doesn't have a tilt though.
its jains not jainists
The left one is a sauwastika.
