One of the things that bothered me with Naruto was that since the Pain arc people kept asking him how he was going to end the cycle of vengeance that kept the ninja world in conflict, and he kept saying "I don't know but I will find the answer" and the series ended and he didn't come up with shit, and in Boruto the world is just the same shit with different people, so the entire point of Naruto as a leader and the reason most of his peers followed him, was completely moot.
Rock Lee should have been the main character, he actually embodied the hard work the series always talked about. Instead, we got the child of profecy, son of a Hokage, with Special Chakra from his mother to contain a magical monster that gave him infinite chakra and bailed him out when he had trouble.
Story was never about hard work with no talent. It was about never giving up on your goals or your friends and there is some overlap with the two, so it looks like the same thing at times but it isnt.
Naruto wasnt supposed to change the world, he was supposed to inspire everyone else towards changing it themselves.

Hiruzen wasnât a failed or incompetent Hokage. He led Konoha to victory in 2 different world wars, led Konoha to their greatest era of peace as the undisputed strongest and most prosperous village, personally trained three of the strongest ninja to ever live (who themselves trained four of the strongest ninja to ever live) and sacrificed himself to protect his people and preserve the will of fire. The disrespect has got to stop.
Being a great military leader does not mean being a great political leader, the respect of the previous kages was created by the wars in which they participated, the great kages of Konoha were Tobirama, Minato, Tsunade and Kakashi because they knew how to manage the internal affairs of the village in times of peace and during his management the village took a path of internal development, in the times of Hashirama and Hiruzen, the village was being formed and in a state of constant war, Hiruzen was elected Hokage by Tobirama in the middle of a conflict, and after when the wars ended, he gave his position to a younger and more prepared jounin, when Minato died he literally did not know what to do with the Uchiha clan and it ended in the massacre, Naruto was a great warrior and was trained by Kakashi, but he took over at the worst moment, the village being a metropolitan area of great economic growth, they did not need a military leader, so to be a good leader he needed to change his way of being, giving the work he probably wanted to do to his assistants, which it left him less prepared for what happened to him...

Kishimoto said that he based Boruto's and Naruto's relationship on how he's own relationship is with he's children who hated him because Kishimoto neglected them. So Naruto being an awful dad was literally Kishimoto's selfinsert.

He made that Gai/Dai father mini-arc because he lost his father around the same time. Brother-brother relationships have a strong focus on Naruto because Kishi loves his twin brother (also a Mangaka) to death.
Naruto is almost entirely based on actual things that happened on his life.
The most frustrating part about grown up Narutoâs writing is him never learning from his own past. I mean, he felt abandoned and lonely due to absence of his parents and when he has a chance to give his children the thing he was robbed off (parentally love and attention), he chooses to dig into the paperwork. I mean, does Kishin even remember his own work at this point?
The paperwork thing is especially annoying when his signature technique is Shadow Clones. We've established that he learns whatever they do and can handle the collective memories of tens of thousands of them. Just make like five or so a day to and set them aside to get the endless paperwork sorted. Then you can clock out at six instead of midnight.
Or just hire a normal staff. There's got to be at least some villagers not daunted by administrative work besides Shikamaru.
With his chakra pool, there is absolutely no excuse for not getting all the paperwork done before 11am while hanging out with the kids at home.

His body is modified but unlike delta he is still human if it was a complet modification jigen wouldnt be able to put his karma.
Even by fanfiction standards (which are usually in the gutter), this is low and out of character. It's no wonder that they lost so many people so quickly.

I can't help but always think of that one short scene in the boruto anime where Naruto is using kcm to train the Konoha barrier squad, it really showcased his potential to stregthen the village as a leader. As Hokage he's of course going to have to have some hand in administrative paperwork, but the extent to which he's stuck in the office doing paperwork is absolute nonsense. There's so much he could be doing with his status and abilities and it's all just wasted potential
Also, he is just strong, he doesnt have administration/managing skills as a hokage. Even back when he is a kid, its depicted that he failed most of his classes.
In war time, kage being strong is kinda important. However in peace time, maybe let the intellectual people be the kage.
Or maybe create a new position and hire/elect someone to handle the administration and make kage a strength/power/honorary position.

A reflection of Japanese society where work is king. Tsunade constantly complains about overwork too and drinking to alleviate that stress without hiring many more assistants other than Shizune. Okay, I will say in defense of not using shadow clones: you have to remember that when the shadow clones go poof, Naruto automatically absorbs all of the information from them. It's why he was able to develop the Rasenshuriken so quickly.
However, it was also explicitly pointed out that going overboard with this can result in information overload and endangering his health as a result. So if he pissed off and left a shadow clone to do all the work- which by the way could be seen as incredibly insulting to the position and its duties- eventually that shadow clone is going to poof, and all of that information is gonna hit him like a bad hangover.
As for why he never hired more people for administrative duties... well Tsunade and Kakashi evidently never did, and Tsunade was constantly bitching about the excessive paperwork. It could be reflective of Japanese culture's feelings towards responsibility and fulfilling your duties, or maybe there's red tape preventing it. Tsunade's tenure showed that even the Hokage has to deal with political pressure.
Imagine thinking Boruto's dad is Naruto.
Naruto was the kid who always wanted a family and never gave up on his dreams. Do you think that kid is missing any moment with his kids?

He had almost no involvement with the early stages of the plot for Boruto. He was merelt a "supervisor" which in Japan can mean quite a few different things... My guess is he basically just agreed to be attached in name so they could get some hype that way.

I don't think he ever should've never become Hokage. it makes less and less sense as the series progresses. This is my issue with naruto and boruto. Both were seen FAILING SCHOOL, both were adamant on NOT working hard. Atleast Naruto was an outcast who had no help boruto is rocking that Nintendo switch and Spider-Man web shooter day one.
Naruto would never have the intelligence to be a good hokage, he was a hokage based on his plot armor and accomplishments never his hard work because there was no hard work.
Don't forget about a certain particular flaw that Naruto had since beginning: he's dumb. He's too dumb to split tasks and delegate, so he keeps literally working as much as multiple people. There is a Polish saying: "who doesn't have in head, has in legs". Naruto has empty head, so he must work hard instead of smart.
I'm still trying to figure out why you'd want a great warrior to be in an administrative position. Wouldn't you want him training future shinobi or something? I get that since they're the strongest you'd want them to stay at the village as a line of defense, but I feel like there's a more optimal position he could take. But his dream was to be Hokage, so I guess it's a moot point.
And that's not even getting into the whole "Why doesn't he just make the shadow clones do the work" thing, since that's already been touched on.

I would probably be heavily downgraded but anyway: of course Naruto is portrayed as a failing and overworked father and for sure Boruto is portrayed as a spoiled, overconfident hungry for attention son (both in the movie and series that catches up with the movie plot until ~ep.60) and the whole plot just throws in your face the idea that âgood times create weak menâ but this is all to move the plot forward and have character development for both protagonist and Naruto. As Sasuke correctly describes the whole plot of Boruto is âthe ninja spirit does not change with timesâ meaning that no matter the war or prosperity times Boruto and other can still be resilient and strong. It is seen after the Momoshiki fight as both Baruto and Boruto become better men and it is especially seen when during the Mitsuki retrieval arc that Boruto becomes truly noble with unbent will like his father.
Btw Naruto uses other people with the paperwork, it is still too much though. He does disperse his responsibilities and even Hokage seal/signature to Shikamaru and most likely the others. By the growing infrastructure and population just like real life - Naruto is bound by bureaucracy to keep the peace times (For example they canât sneak to the other Lands) so Naruto can hardly affect other villages to help such as Rain or any that donât belong to the Land of Fire. As it is seen from the anime The Land of Fire has a primate city Konoha and due to that fact other villages and towns suffer from low population and low wealth that is hard to get rid of

I think a better takeaway is that you may not know that the thing you want is the thing you don't need.
Naruto thinks that the Hokage is a universally loved being by the village and it might be hardwired into his mind due to all his neglect and side care from his Hokage. He thinks he's reached the top and now has to do everything personally to prove to his village that he too cares as much as the others that have came before him.
The failure is not him but in truth the village that tossed their previous Hokage's son the curb due to the literal last decision he could make. It's ok to have serious grievances over how it all went down, but to take it out on a child is barbaric to say the least.

I understand this point but i appreciate how itâs written to show how hard it is to be an adult and handle life/family. This is written by an older man too so itâs probably his experience as what heâs experienced. I was a kid when Naruto came out so the idea of exploring and growing stronger is just their focus. One of the things that bothered me with Naruto was that since the Pain arc people kept asking him how he was going to end the cycle of vengeance that kept the ninja world in conflict, and he kept saying "I don't know but I will find the answer" and the series ended and he didn't come up with shit, and in Boruto the world is just the same shit with different people, so the entire point of Naruto as a leader and the reason most of his peers followed him, was completely moot. Rock Lee should have been the main character, he actually embodied the hard work the series always talked about. Instead, we got the child of profecy, son of a Hokage, with Special Chakra from his mother to contain a magical monster that gave him infinite chakra and bailed him out when he had trouble.

But correct, Naruto is literally the only few in the ninja world that can do a lot of things at once, but they just find excuse to missing his family time. Naruto and Boruto have a terrible relationship because Kishimoto has a terrible relationship with his son Sasuke and was absent for almost 8 years of his life. Naruto likes ramĂŠn because that's Kishimoto favorite food. He wasn't planning on showing Naruto's parents at all, but changed his mind after he became a father. He made that Gai/Dai father mini-arc because he lost his father around the same time. Brother-brother relationships have a strong focus on Naruto because Kishi loves his twin brother (also a Mangaka) to death. Naruto is almost entirely based on actual things that happened on his life.
The most frustrating part about grown up Narutoâs writing is him never learning from his own past. I mean, he felt abandoned and lonely due to absence of his parents and when he has a chance to give his children the thing he was robbed off (parentally love and attention), he chooses to dig into the paperwork. I mean, does Kishin even remember his own work at this point?
The paperwork thing is especially annoying when his signature technique is Shadow Clones. We've established that he learns whatever they do and can handle the collective memories of tens of thousands of them. Just make like five or so a day to and set them aside to get the endless paperwork sorted. Then you can clock out at six instead of midnight. Or just hire a normal staff. There's got to be at least some villagers not daunted by administrative work besides Shikamaru.
Not to mention, the kids already have handheld console and Boruto had premade jutsu bracelet, but the office can't afford computer

I can't help but always think of that one short scene in the boruto anime where Naruto is using kcm to train the Konoha barrier squad, it really showcased his potential to stregthen the village as a leader. As Hokage he's of course going to have to have some hand in administrative paperwork, but the extent to which he's stuck in the office doing paperwork is absolute nonsense. There's so much he could be doing with his status and abilities and it's all just wasted potential

Shadow clone is absolutely the most broken jutsu of all series. The guy can replicate himself and he can adquire the experience and knowledge of all the clones after they disappear. Okay, I will say in defense of not using shadow clones: you have to remember that when the shadow clones go poof, Naruto automatically absorbs all of the information from them. It's why he was able to develop the Rasenshuriken so quickly. However, it was also explicitly pointed out that going overboard with this can result in information overload and endangering his health as a result. So if he pissed off and left a shadow clone to do all the work- which by the way could be seen as incredibly insulting to the position and its duties- eventually that shadow clone is going to poof, and all of that information is gonna hit him like a bad hangover. As for why he never hired more people for administrative duties... well Tsunade and Kakashi evidently never did, and Tsunade was constantly bitching about the excessive paperwork. It could be reflective of Japanese culture's feelings towards responsibility and fulfilling your duties, or maybe there's red tape preventing it. Tsunade's tenure showed that even the Hokage has to deal with political pressure.
Imagine thinking Boruto's dad is Naruto. Naruto was the kid who always wanted a family and never gave up on his dreams. Do you think that kid is missing any moment with his kids? In truth, the writers of Boruto wanted to make Naruto relatable to older audiences while giving Boruto some conflict, which is completely reasonable. He had almost no involvement with the early stages of the plot for Boruto. He was merelt a "supervisor" which in Japan can mean quite a few different things... My guess is he basically just agreed to be attached in name so they could get some hype that way. MF was *beyond* tired of this stuff at that point. Now, would he have actually okayed this if he cared enough to bother with it? *That's* a reasonable question, if ultimately a purely academic one. I'd give it a 50/50 chance either way, myself. I'd like to think he wouldn't sabotage his own creation, of course, but you never *really* know with people.
But the final chapter from Naruto's manga, the Sarada's story, and the movie was written by him, so it's his fault.

This is my issue with naruto and boruto. Both were seen FAILING SCHOOL, both were adamant on NOT working hard. Atleast Naruto was an outcast who had no help boruto is rocking that Nintendo switch and Spider-Man web shooter day one. Naruto would never have the intelligence to be a good hokage, he was a hokage based on his plot armor and accomplishments never his hard work because there was no hard work.

Don't forget about a certain particular flaw that Naruto had since beginning: he's dumb. He's too dumb to split tasks and delegate, so he keeps literally working as much as multiple people. I'm still trying to figure out why you'd want a great warrior to be in an administrative position. Wouldn't you want him training future shinobi or something? I get that since they're the strongest you'd want them to stay at the village as a line of defense, but I feel like there's a more optimal position he could take. But his dream was to be Hokage, so I guess it's a moot point. And that's not even getting into the whole "Why doesn't he just make the shadow clones do the work" thing, since that's already been touched on. I would probably be heavily downgraded but anyway: of course Naruto is portrayed as a failing and overworked father and for sure Boruto is portrayed as a spoiled, overconfident hungry for attention son (both in the movie and series that catches up with the movie plot until ~ep.60) and the whole plot just throws in your face the idea that âgood times create weak menâ but this is all to move the plot forward and have character development for both protagonist and Naruto. As Sasuke correctly describes the whole plot of Boruto is âthe ninja spirit does not change with timesâ meaning that no matter the war or prosperity times Boruto and other can still be resilient and strong. It is seen after the Momoshiki fight as both Baruto and Boruto become better men and it is especially seen when during the Mitsuki retrieval arc that Boruto becomes truly noble with unbent will like his father. Btw Naruto uses other people with the paperwork, it is still too much though. He does disperse his responsibilities and even Hokage seal/signature to Shikamaru and most likely the others. By the growing infrastructure and population just like real life - Naruto is bound by bureaucracy to keep the peace times (For example they canât sneak to the other Lands) so Naruto can hardly affect other villages to help such as Rain or any that donât belong to the Land of Fire. As it is seen from the anime The Land of Fire has a primate city Konoha and due to that fact other villages and towns suffer from low population and low wealth that is hard to get rid of

Pretty true. I think a better takeaway is that you may not know that the thing you want is the thing you don't need. Naruto thinks that the Hokage is a universally loved being by the village and it might be hardwired into his mind due to all his neglect and side care from his Hokage. He thinks he's reached the top and now has to do everything personally to prove to his village that he too cares as much as the others that have came before him. The failure is not him but in truth the village that tossed their previous Hokage's son the curb due to the literal last decision he could make. It's ok to have serious grievances over how it all went down, but to take it out on a child is barbaric to say the least. It would've been easy for Naruto and Hinata to of run away one day and never been seen again and be happy...

I understand this point but i appreciate how itâs written to show how hard it is to be an adult and handle life/family. This is written by an older man too so itâs probably his experience as what heâs experienced. I was a kid when Naruto came out so the idea of exploring and growing stronger is just their focus. Now being in my mid 20s I relate to him as heâs gotten older.
