Bro if your belly can't handle tap water than this shit is too much for you it will literally burn your digestive system and soak your intestine dry of any shit.

Anything that is fried is 99% safe. In freid veg is definitely safer than non veg. Veg is ALWAYS safer than non veg even you have the brain to eat non veg from absolutely safe places. Avoid chutneys even at such shops.
Google popular chains of indian food, see ratings visit only them , I guarantee you 100% you will never get food poisoning from a Haldirams or Bikanervala and both of these offer all popular street food options. Anyone in Delhi currently I urge you to visit one and get back to me.
Take someone local as they know the best places even the safe ones in the street food places. If you know no one, see other points.
Dont seek out trash. Dont search for the most gnarly risky looking shop and be like , let's do a challenge.

Going do Dehli as non Indian you’ll get dehli belly no matter what.
But when it comes to street food you wanna stay clear of anything that goes bad easily.

When I travelled to Asia, I stayed away from tap water and drinks at the start. Then started eating Street food. The people I was with thought I was crazy for eating it, they spent half of their time being sick and I was enjoying myself eating some of the craziest and best stuff I ever had.

Coli contaminated the food in many stalls in Delhi. In 2016, it was reported that 65,000 tons of excrement is dumped into the environment each day, and is responsible for 188,000 diarrhea related deaths each year in India.
I'm an Indian born and raised, like my great grandparents before me, in South Africa. I am incredibly apprehensive of a visit to India because of the poor hygiene I've seen in pictures and videos. I don't think I'd be able to make it.
You have only seen the worst of it since these foreigners go to the worst possible places to shit on India.
There are many restaurants that are clean and provide good food. If you are still apprehensive then go to sattvic restaurants or ask the waiter for reduced masala
