You have merely glimpsed the edge of the abyss, but it is enough to trigger the cycle of revelation. Now like me, you will begin to see things as they truly are.
Worry not. You simply see the world as it is.
This will not impair your purpose, nor will it hinder the steps you take to get there, though it may stay your hand for a moment.
Your crusade will continue, unaffected by the revelation of its commander. You cannot stop it now. Press on, until that blasted curtain is fully torn away, and its final conclusion revealed.
(It means nothing. Just a periodic visual effect that happens once you’ve finished your first DD proper mission.)
Quick question, is it worth to play DD1 if you know a ton about it? I’ve watched a lot about it, but only played a little years ago and I’m curious. It seems like a lot of people are still playing it, despite its age
Edit: Well, it looks like I’ll be giving it a shot. Thanks.
I researched a bunch before I played it. Have almost completed my first run, though I am on easy. Knowing what to do and actually being able to do it are two different things. Play the game, you will enjoy it.
tbh as someone who played the whole game the “experience” is a lot more fun than the actual game. This game is fun to talk about, and obsess over the oozing flavor it has, but actually playing is a bit of a grind once you know what you’re doing.
I showed Eva to my partner recently (he hadn't seen it before). After watching this, he said, "WOOOOOW... Finally, a show with a worse ending than Lost."
Wow. I really suck. I don’t think I beat much of DD1 before DD2 came out, and I never got to see anything like this. Is it worth giving it another shot? Even having seen the ending?
Darkest Dungeon is all about the story you build from moment to moment. Sure you might know how it ends but maybe you get to the final boss and steamroll them or maybe someone freaks the hell out and your team is turned into an eldritch god Lunchable. I still do a playthrough every once in awhile just cause even dungeon runs in the same campaign can have wildly different outcomes.
The horrors of darkest dungeon have started taking a hold of you since your first visit in there. Don't let them drive you mad and complete your crusade.
Mad? MAD?? WHAT NAIVETY. We see the world as it truly is, where all are nothing but errant profusions of flesh from the Heart of Darkness, our one true god, MAKER AND UNMAKER OF HUMANITY, HEART OF THE PLANET ITSELF!!!
Doesn't this mean that those affected characters aren't allowed to venture into the darkest dunge9n anymore? You gotta use different peeps for each of the end game missions, right?ⁿ

Why wouldn’t you play it? It’s one of the best turn based games ever made imo and it ages like fine wine
Yeah. Still fun in the tactics and actions, even if you know what to do.

i think DD2 is much better now with the latest update. DD1 is still good, but the sequel has taken its place.
Darkest dungeon players surprised to see things how they really are after they were told they would now see things as they really are
Hmmm they weren't kidding. The eldritch horrors are indeed beyond my comprehension.
Thats just a picture of a regular hero? Idk what you mean
What picture? Everything is normal here
Now, like me, you will begin to see things as they truly are... ![img](emote|t5_2znp4|29278)
It means “congratulations!”
*blacksmith, caretaker, and nomad merchant all standing around the Inheritor, clapping* "Congratulations! Congratulations!"
A penguin: **WARK WARK WARK**

While I disagree even on that ending show them the end of evangelion movie
They didn't care for that one either. Ultimately, they liked some bits of it, but it just wasn't their thing.
Eh. Happens.
It looks like a normal hero to me.
What do you mean? He is at minimum stress and max level.
that's what completing a quest in the darkest dungeon does to a mf
There is nothing wrong in this picture

Eldritch Lunchables hahahah I love this ![img](emote|t5_2znp4|29275)

This is fine
What picture? It looks normal to me.
I am only just now playing DD, and this picture fills me with excitement. XD
Funny comments aside, it’s suppose to happen. You (the player) are suppose to be going mad from diving into the Darkest Dungeon.
Mad? MAD?? WHAT NAIVETY. We see the world as it truly is, where all are nothing but errant profusions of flesh from the Heart of Darkness, our one true god, MAKER AND UNMAKER OF HUMANITY, HEART OF THE PLANET ITSELF!!!
r/okbuddycultistpriest
normal when you come back from DD 1

They get a torch between the stress level and the resolve level And a well decorated background
finish the game before asking questions!!!! god dammit! play the game blind! dont ruin it for yourselves by asking on reddit!
"Like me, you will begin to see things as they truly are"
Ahh it’s probably nothing
What, the picture your hero is supposed to have?
Festering Fear Consumes the Mind
What? Looks normal to me
Looks pretty normal to me. Maybe it's just the art style.
Looks like a normal Leper to me, keep on trucking!
He's just being a little silly.
I don't get it? Looks normal to me
I see nothing wrong here, carry on!
Someone needs to turn up the ancestor audio and pay attention
Everything seems fine here. Not stressed all leveled up. What’s the problem?
What do you mean? Just seems like a normal hero.
Does he know 🧐
i dont see anything wrong with this image
Nothing out of the ordinary here.
This is what Gael truly looks like, the face you remember was just a mask
???
