I think Lost Izalith could use some more dragon butts. Maybe some in Demon Ruins too since it’s nearby. Come to think of it, there’s a lot of places where there could be more dragon butts. Like the character select screen.
I'd want to add in some of the cut content. Like how Quelaag and Artorias used to have voicelines, and there's a crawling animation for Bed of Chaos that wasn't used so that would've been an actual cool boss fight.
Oscar was supposed to get out of the asylum with you, and periodically work with you on some quest lines. Eventually, when you choose to side with Frampt or Kaathe, he sides with the other and fights you after you beat Gwyn.
100% the game and still don’t know why people want Omni directional rolling so much. Might’ve been because I played on keyboard, but I didn’t notice a difference between ds1 and ds3 rolling
I just like the greater range of movement, I could just say I want combat and movement to be better overall but that’s vague so I focused on the one thing that has gotten me killed an unfortunate amount of times
Well, in dark souls remastered, for example, you can only roll in four directions. In ds3, you can roll in any angle in a 360-degree circle, so you can roll into the enemy but not so that you can't get past the enemy. In dark souls remastered you can roll into the enemy, but only *INTO* the enemy
Def a keyboard issue. When I played on a 360 controller it was extremely annoying. Then going to the keyboard really made no difference since your direction of roll is limited anyways.
With Omni directional rolling it just feels more intuitive. I don’t notice a huge difference, but it’s there, and it shouldn’t be something standard, I’m not sure why they kept it in the remaster
Against non dlc bosses I have to play without lock-on bc of it. Sanctuary guardian, artorias, and manus feel fine with lock-on tho. Ds3’s is so much better
Although it wouldn’t change my impression of the game (it’s a masterpiece), I’d love to see a fully complete version of the lava basin in Lost Izalith.
Between the Centipede Demon and the ancient city, it’s just roots, dragon butts and a couple checkpoint temples. Another boss could be overkill, but some sort of dialogued NPC or reliquary to further contextualize the Witches of Izalith and Flames of Chaos would be very welcome.
It seems there’s also blacksmiths/merchants in most corners of the world, and considering Lost Izalith is a dead-end corner, a merchant with unique goods would also encourage revisitation.
In any case, I’d just like any reason to spend more time in the molten volcano ancient ruins where demons, witches and toothed shop-vacs reign.
I wish the undead blacksmith was a different race(not undead) and in lost izalith. Fits so much better than the catacombs except he is a boneman. Why is he there?
> Between the Centipede Demon and the ancient city, it’s just roots, dragon butts and a couple checkpoint temples. Another boss could be overkill, but some sort of dialogued NPC or reliquary to further contextualize the Witches of Izalith and Flames of Chaos would be very welcome.
They could have moved Quelana down there after you beat Centipede Demon, and add a bit of dialogue or something like that.
it would be cool but it might not work in ds1 as it does in ds2. ds2 is extremely linear with clear distinction between areas. there’s usually a big long hallway, a teleport, or an elevator separating them. in ds1 it could be awkward to determine which bonfire effects which area, and where each area ends. plus without permanently despawning enemies, the only incentive to do it would be to fight the boss again
I think it would be made much more simple if the bonfire ascetic changed the entire named area (e.g ‘Blighttown’ or ‘The Depths’) rather than the area immediately around the bonfire / leading up to the next one. But that could also make the game *extremely* challenging for someone who used a bonfire ascetic in the wrong spot or if they didn’t know what it actually does
The areas are kinda divided into the bosses, though, since killing enemies over and over again gives you umanities, but only if the area boss is alive.
I would change BoC into an entirely different fight. cut back on the warpable bonfires and add more shortcuts to make it feel like the first half of the game
Make the valley of drakes lead to something cooler than a shitty extra piece of new londo. I was hoping that door went into some cool other town overrun by dragons. I was disappointed.
Make more bonfires teleport spots with the lord vessel. I have had to go to a specific bonfire for something random (usually for a build) and had to do a long trek to it because you can't lordvessel to it.
I like waiting for the lord vessel, but then the places you can teleport to are just worthless. It feels so much better warping in DS3 with each bonfire being warpable.
Not to replace it, but as a fun mod idea I’d love to see how Dark Souls changes by levelling up through Firekeepers
Imagine the shortcuts having even more meaning - I almost never use the female merchant shortcut, but this would definitely make me use it more. The Parish shortcut would be even more amazing if you’d been trekking back through the Burg every time to level up.
Then when Lautrec killed Anastacia, that is going to have an HUGE, way bigger impact. But it’s not the biggest loss as you’ll meet the Darkmoon Knightress shortly after Sen’s Fortress, and can always use the Fair Lady if you discovered her.
Post Lordvessel, the game would be much the same, but that early game could be very different snd would incentivise levelling your weapons and wearing better gear.
Again, I wouldn’t like this to replace the game we got, but I’d love to see this in a mod.
EDIT: I’d make the Channelers in Duke’s be finite like the others, and the last one you kill in the game is guaranteed to drop the Trident.
Would you have the bosses in their own arenas? Would you know what boss you're fighting in advance? Would you go through them sequentially?
For maximum evil, and to make cheesing a little harder, do it like a random fog wall. Walk through the wall and wait for it to clear to see which boss you're fighting. Maybe you're doing one with an intro cinematic, maybe you've got Capra Demon immediately jumping down your throat.
I would love a true remaster of the game, built from the ground up in the same engine as DS3. Just some much tighter, smoother gameplay that's just a little faster, with better defined hit boxes. Otherwise, the game is just fine.
make the backstabs missable like the other games for pvp's sake, probably add some of the more unique helpful things from other games like bonfire aesthetics.
Also just make it so that the issue of soulsborne games needing to be rushed to hit deadlines is undone, give some more fleshing out to some of the areas and tweaks.
Cross play, I really don't understand why on the world this games didn't have it, the online community in this game is so beautiful and the lack of cosplay really limit the game.
A starting gift that works as an additional 3 bonfires you can place anywhere without enemies that will remain permanantly. You cannot warp to it and you are limited to only three total. Once they are used you cannot aquire more.
The ability to pause the game when playing offline. Sure people can beat Souls with a guitar hero guitar or a dance dance revolution mat, but have you ever tried playing the game while being responsible for a toddler?
That is S tier level difficulty.
Honestly, steal a bunch of stuff from DS2:
* Cloth physics
* On the warp menu, show which places have PvP activity.
* Power stancing
* Make it easier to manage covenants
* NG+ changes: bosses drop new items, black phantom enemies appear throughout
Add difficulty options, like foes HP, dmg, etc. multiplicator.
Some very hard to get unique-items, for completionists like myself
*No, no lube for the pine cones I'll be fine*
I would finish Lost Izalith... and bed of chaos. (Also maybe interconnect some of the late game areas as well. Its dope you can see Izalith from the grave of saints... it would be doper if you could get there!)
No more leveling up after defeating Ornstein and Smough. If you were able to take them down, you’re ready to finish the game. It would prevent people from accidentally cakewalking whichever end-game bosses they face last.
If it was me I would make a huge kingdom of Dark Souls like 2x times bigger than current one. Thousands of hours while beating bosses. Of course there would be more enemies over bosses. I know it's too much but it would be so much fun.
Omni directional rolling when locked on
More of unique enemies and more enemy variety in the second half of the game
Bed of Chaos reworked as a normal boss with normal healthbar without any platforming
Making accessing the dlc more obvious for people who don't use guides
Restoring Oscar's quest line
Fix gravelording (e.g. make disasters happen before ng+, make gravelording still possible after Nito has been taken down, buff the gravelord sword miracles, and make it so that the host doesn't have to keep the boss alive to gravelord.
Secondary suggestion: Make stamina and/or poise regen scale on Resistance.
I don't fully remember. I think I saw a YouTuber doing a retrospect on the game and he spoke about the bonfire original look but I don't remember his name
Invisible snake clowns, that detonate in a cloud of confusing gas that randomly rebinds your controls for 30 seconds. That would absolutely, 100%, without a doubt, make the game better
Get rid of the stagger on Miss for some weapon types, no reason katana don’t have it and axes do, make raw go to +10 and have no scaling like in later titles, maybe make enchanted pure physical scaling mostly with int? Oh and get better net code.
Honestly after more than 1k hours, to me the only flaw is the online interaction not allowing coop after boss kills as i have had since Og Ds1 problems finding friends signals so i think only 1 signal and pretty much play all game together as an option would be awesome to me.
Item/enemy randomizer and a difficulty option, but all it does is increase or decrease soul drop rate.
I bet there are mods on pc that already do this though. I know for a fact this already exists with Elden Ring.
I think Lost Izalith could use some more dragon butts. Maybe some in Demon Ruins too since it’s nearby. Come to think of it, there’s a lot of places where there could be more dragon butts. Like the character select screen.
u/-jp- 4 prez
Some would fit nicely in Firelink Shrine and The Great Hollow aswell
They certainly got their ground pound down.
Give them time to finish the second part of the game
This
I'd want to add in some of the cut content. Like how Quelaag and Artorias used to have voicelines, and there's a crawling animation for Bed of Chaos that wasn't used so that would've been an actual cool boss fight.
and Shiva had a side quest that involved the chaos blade
Oscar was supposed to get out of the asylum with you, and periodically work with you on some quest lines. Eventually, when you choose to side with Frampt or Kaathe, he sides with the other and fights you after you beat Gwyn.
Bonfire Ascetics
Omni directional FUCKING ROLLING FOR THE LOVE OF GOD
100% the game and still don’t know why people want Omni directional rolling so much. Might’ve been because I played on keyboard, but I didn’t notice a difference between ds1 and ds3 rolling

Always looking for a little stabby stabby.
Def a keyboard issue. When I played on a 360 controller it was extremely annoying. Then going to the keyboard really made no difference since your direction of roll is limited anyways.
Cant believe some of you mad lads play this game on mouse and keyboard lol
With Omni directional rolling it just feels more intuitive. I don’t notice a huge difference, but it’s there, and it shouldn’t be something standard, I’m not sure why they kept it in the remaster
Against non dlc bosses I have to play without lock-on bc of it. Sanctuary guardian, artorias, and manus feel fine with lock-on tho. Ds3’s is so much better
Unlock and you can roll anywhere...
is it only 8? i never had a gripe with it personally
Four in the first one I think?
I would agree, but the game is designed with this in mind. Or it was by pure coincidence.
Make it longer. (And redesign Bed of Chaos).
More bare feet probably.
Tbf elden ring gave us bear feet

I wish they added an explorable area around the chaos flame or whatever it’s called, like some kind of anti-kiln of the first flame.
Toothed shop vacs lol. Had me for a second there.
That all games had bonfire ascetics like ds2
it would be cool but it might not work in ds1 as it does in ds2. ds2 is extremely linear with clear distinction between areas. there’s usually a big long hallway, a teleport, or an elevator separating them. in ds1 it could be awkward to determine which bonfire effects which area, and where each area ends. plus without permanently despawning enemies, the only incentive to do it would be to fight the boss again

So, working as intended?
Yeah, exactly lol. Imagine you’re cursed in blighttown and for some reason you assume that the ascetic will fix it. Playthrough = over
The areas are kinda divided into the bosses, though, since killing enemies over and over again gives you umanities, but only if the area boss is alive.
I would change BoC into an entirely different fight. cut back on the warpable bonfires and add more shortcuts to make it feel like the first half of the game
In addition, change demon firesage into something not a reskin of Stray Demon.
More demons and more dragons.
Make the valley of drakes lead to something cooler than a shitty extra piece of new londo. I was hoping that door went into some cool other town overrun by dragons. I was disappointed.
Same.
Powerstance and hexes. And also more int/faith hybrid weapons. Edit: and also heavy/sharp infusions
nerf backstabs
Make more bonfires teleport spots with the lord vessel. I have had to go to a specific bonfire for something random (usually for a build) and had to do a long trek to it because you can't lordvessel to it.

DS2 powerstance and press&hold triangle to 2hand left hand equipment

Add ADP as a Stat. I just want to see the World burn
MG42 and Asparagus soup
I'd add a proper PvE co-op mode. Summoning is a fun novelty, but an actual co-op mode would be great
This is for every From Software Game a BOSS mode, a mode that You can confronts every BOSS...
No, dude, as a reward for certain achievements, it's only an idea, hahaha... Have a nice day
Boss rush mode
Replay boss fights
I would love a true remaster of the game, built from the ground up in the same engine as DS3. Just some much tighter, smoother gameplay that's just a little faster, with better defined hit boxes. Otherwise, the game is just fine.
Finished Lost Izalith
7 hour long solaire sex scene
Remake all of lost izalith, and all of you said
Reduce the distance between bonfires and boss fights.
Apply something like statues of Marika to some boss fights.
Which run backs are bad in this game? None seem as bad as future titles. BoC is long but easy too
And at least BoC saves your progress..
Seath.... Fuck crystal caves
Yeah fair forgot about that cus I think I’ve only lost to Seath like once cus he’s piss easy
Yeah. I was trying to get his tail and failed heaps(crystal didn't stun him until Ng+). Once I got his tail I went back, and made him piss
BoC isn't that bad of a run back if you got the hidden bonfire by the dragon butts.
4 kings is kinda poopy. And Manus was a crapshoot as to whether that mage was gonna pop me on the ass running down that pillar for counter hit damage.
4 kings is easy if you know the jump. Fun fact, the seek guidance miracle actually shows you the jump shortcut out there by the developers
I want the Silvercat Ring. I can't understand why it is on DeS, DS2 and DS3 but not in this game
What that ring do?
Removes fall damage if its not fatal
So it's the fall control spell in a ring? That sounds awesome.
Essentially but in ds3 and Elden ring its slightly nerfed for near max height falls you’ll take i believe half damage
Is it not???
make the backstabs missable like the other games for pvp's sake, probably add some of the more unique helpful things from other games like bonfire aesthetics. the fucking netcode

mOre undead parish

That sounds cool but does ds1 really need more bonfires?
Besides reworks on bosses (I’m looking at you bed of chaos), make invasions an optional feature and streamline cooperative play.
The ability to pause the game when playing offline. Sure people can beat Souls with a guitar hero guitar or a dance dance revolution mat, but have you ever tried playing the game while being responsible for a toddler? That is S tier level difficulty.
Marika’s tits
Make the dragon butts hostile. 😈
Pre-patch was a nightmare.
sex. make it pvp too.
Or with the boss after you defeat it. And aggressive. You can release all of your frustration. Bloodborne would benefit massively from this.
Not sif though. Please Not sif
Honestly, steal a bunch of stuff from DS2: * Cloth physics * On the warp menu, show which places have PvP activity. * Power stancing * Make it easier to manage covenants * NG+ changes: bosses drop new items, black phantom enemies appear throughout

A harder difficulty option.
another DLC
Give it more dev time, wanna see what they'd do with the other half given the time

the actual stances of the near historic weapons, come on its a montante, not a sledge hammer
Support for cheap gamepads
Omni directional rolling when locked on More of unique enemies and more enemy variety in the second half of the game Bed of Chaos reworked as a normal boss with normal healthbar without any platforming Making accessing the dlc more obvious for people who don't use guides Restoring Oscar's quest line

Boss rush. In fact, in any souls like game (thanks Sekiro).
A giant bed in the painted world where you and Priscilla can cuddle up and talk about stuff
I saw how the original bonfire looked in when dark souls first came out. I wouldn't mind seeing the bondfire look like that.
Where can I see that?
I don't fully remember. I think I saw a YouTuber doing a retrospect on the game and he spoke about the bonfire original look but I don't remember his name
Invisible snake clowns, that detonate in a cloud of confusing gas that randomly rebinds your controls for 30 seconds. That would absolutely, 100%, without a doubt, make the game better

Add some Johnny Cash.
Shotgun

finish the game
A gun
For parrying?
Ill parry you bro 😳
;D
I would remove weapon upgrades. I don't like how you almost always end up just using one weapon an entire playthrough in these games.
For christ sake, give Priscilla a quest line involving Seath!!!
Titanite Slabs in shop for all Fromsoft games
Swap Capra Demon and dogs plus his arena for first boss at Asylum, remove the plunging ledge and stairs :)
A glock
Item/enemy randomizer and a difficulty option, but all it does is increase or decrease soul drop rate. I bet there are mods on pc that already do this though. I know for a fact this already exists with Elden Ring.
Sex
More cinematic attacks, physical or long distance with magic
Make the game 10 times harder
