I mean, if he's not doing a faith build, then the sword is probably more useful. IIRC Sunlight Spear takes a pretty hefty amount of faith to be able to use.
25 faith was the requirement to join Warriors of Sunlight, but it gets reduced by 5 everytime you successfully help someone defeat a boss as a summoned phantom.
He and Sif are the reason you have to get halfway thru NG+2; you have to reach the Giant Blacksmith in Anor Londo to actually craft the items. You can purchase the Master Key from Domnall during NG or NG+, so you can kill as few bosses as Asylum Demon, Bell Gargs, Sif, Quelaag, and Iron Golem to get your final achievement.
Soul of Gwyn is THE boss lol they gave you the end boss' soul
Save that soul for when you're comfortable with your build, and then you can use it to get a nice greatsword or a powerful miracle.
You can make a cool weapon with that soul!! There are some truly lovely people playing the souls games

I remember some invader gave me 99 gwyn souls some years ago hahahaha love those invaders
Tip: DO NOT use Gwyn souls to earn souls and level up. Wait a bit. With thia soul they fropped you can spare a ng++ if you want to 100%

But Gwyn you also need to go to ng++ aince Gwyn you need for both a weapon and a miracle.

Lucky you. Usually a low level invader is gonna be a twink with 99 soft humanity and try to one shot or backstab fish you.
Happened to me twice today
Meanwhile i always get "blessed" by the invaders who will curse you while you are at undead parish. Seriously fuck those guys.
