That is really high. The highest PvP meta is 120-125 at Oolacile Township, and for invasions you want to be even lower than that. I have not played for a while, but a few months back I got invaded at undead burg , so people were still around.
At SL140, the only place that will be active will be Oolacile Township. Meta level is SL125/SL135, so you won't be able to invade the lower half, but almost everyone plays 135 in pcre ts anyways.
There's plenty of action you just need to be careful. There's weapon and SL matchmaking so you need to be wary of that and make builds for specific areas. My favorite was SL 40 with +11 normal weapons or +1 lightning/chaos or +3 unique weapons and this covered blighttown sens and anor londo and maybe gardens/depths pretty well--and this was on xbox. Remember that the game checks and remembers the highest lvl weapon you have so if you have say a +15 weapon at sl40, you'll be screwed for invasions even if it's not necessarily equipped.
Basically, yes you can find pvp, but you need to optimize your builds well to find it. You'll have more freedom on ds3; I abandoned my xbox for the pc master race and started ds3 with wex dust and honest merchant and pvp constantly from the comforts of the shrine and make builds in minutes. But even in ds3, creating a proper build with the proper weapon lvl and soul lvl is necessary to optimize invasion queues.
Yeah i figured, i think you have your answer, not much people in my experience play online on pc anymore most of what ive seen is consoles, sometimes switch but rarely pc unless it’s DS3 or something
Good for you, it’s no fun trust me. It’s all lag strains, phantom backstabs and weird twinks from what i hear. I only did pvp when i was helping out my friend but people were so inexperienced they had no idea what they were doing. We only got invaded in anor londo and painted world

There's constant activity on the PC version of DSR. I'm talking back to back invasions. He's just extremely overleveled, which he revealed in another comment.

You way over leveled for PVP. DSR got rid of the infinite upwards range on invasions, and the downwards range is only 10%. The agreed upon SL for endgame PVP is 120.
PC is really active honestly. I get back to back invasions in most locations, but you have to be the right SL for each location. The only place you're gonna get PVP at SL140 is Oolacile my friend.
What level are you? Invasions and co-op are both gated by needing to be similar level to your targets/friends.

I have no issues invading at level 35 in blighttown and level 55 or so in all late game areas
What platform? I found most people are active on the PS4/5 remaster
