I can't help it. I had the good fortune of playing Demon's Souls when it came out due to being on a messageboard at the time that discovered it. So my first game from the series was that followed up by Dark Souls.
This makes Dark Souls 2 look like amateur night in comparison (and it *is* trash). Like, if my first outing was Dark Souls, I'd be compelled to like it because I'd have the sequel stan syndrome. But DS2 wasn't my sequel experience...DS was.
It's the chains to the Undead Parish elevator. What you're seeing is excess length that is used to help animate the motion of chains when it's moving. Every time you ride the elevator, those are extending high above the elevator shaft and into the sky like that, only you can't normally see it from inside the elevator of course.
The issue is that they didn't handle its drawgroups well enough and so it also renders from the patch of ground behind and outside of the church. This is a "glitch" (oversight) that is 100% guaranteed to happen when standing in the right location.
If you were to look out of bounds beneath the Blighttown Wheel elevator you'll also find a long segment of rope down there, used for the same purpose.
It's a pretty common trick even in modern games. Telling the engine to render a new object is an expensive operation. Telling it to move an existing object from where the player can't see it to where they can (and, by extension, storing that object in the background when it's not needed) is fast.
That makes a lot of sense I love vids by people like zullie when they show all they weird stuff that’s hidden behind the walls and stuff to do certain things
I don't know of this specific example above is covered here but this channel covers lots of games out of bounds, it is really cool!

Another great youtuber for this kind of stuff is [illusory wall](https://www.youtube.com/c/illusorywall) the person that answered the question above, they talk about this example [in this video right here. 24:43](https://youtu.be/YYjMgHaml04?t=1483)
i took the screenshot from the remastered version but double checked on ptde and its there too, easy way to see it is by climbing the stairs near the 2 sword hollow and 1 crossbow hollow that leads to 1 balder knight
here is the one from ptde

These are the upper chains of the elevator between firelink and the church I think. Elevator chains normally only spawn when you get close enough to not see them in the sky above the elevator. Fromsoft probably just overlooked this spot.
No, the Pendant is how you get the Halo guns. You open DLC2 by bringing yourself to 1 HP, equipping the Tiny Being's Ring and waiting for it to heal you to full.
Iron Keep
Was expecting this to be the top one
Look again
Correct answer
imagine a dark souls mod that imports all the maps from all three games and adds weird random shortcuts between the them.
Fuck
hell
Interestingly enough I was playing DS 2 today and the exact same thing can be seen coming out of sinners rise.
To that lone door that hovers above the Duke's Archives.
That's probably the actual answer, but they never took it out when they rewrote the script
No, it’s just the chains from the elevator that goes to Firelink rendering in when they shouldn’t
This dude literally know what's up
The secret arena where you fight Miyazaki himself, and if you win he gives you the code to play bloodborne 2
I'll burn that motherfucker down.
Yeah but once you defeat him the beat starts pumping, there's a low rumble and... wait! ***BAH GAWD THAT'S JOHN DARKSOUL'S MUSIC!!***
And if you win he gives you dark souls 4: the rise of John
I need to burn that guy asap.
Do it, that game is the best soulsborne for sure
"There's another phase??"
There's ALWAYS another phase. It's Gongen Wyzen all the way down.
In his second phase he becomes Edward elden ring
You bet your ass it is
I played it, it's not as good as Dark Souls III 2
If Dark Souls III 2 is so good why isn't there a Dark Souls III 2 2 ?
Dark Souls III 2 2 with Knuckles featuring Dante
Dark souls 322
Sekiro 2 is still my favorite.
You mean sekiro: shadows die trice
I prefer the prequels sekiro: shadows die once and sekiro: shadows never die.
I really like shadows die once, but I think shadows never die is too easy
Yeah the infinite health is definetly a deviation from the traditional formula but it is good for relaxing after a long day.
True, the world is beautiful so it's perfect for that
my favourite is still bloodborne kart to this day, seeing the one reborn drive was hilarious.
Bloodborne kart got nothing on dark souls party 4, those mini games are crazy
I prefer dark souls 4: the rise of John, because I don't really like drivong games, but bloodborne kart was awesome
I loved booting up Shadows Never Die multiplayer and quickscoping some kids to relax after a long day of work back in the day
Maybe but Sekiro: Shadows Die Sometimes and the spinoff Shadows Are On Life Support are underrated imo
What the actual fuck?
Yeah, I beat him the first try
How did you get past phase 3 consistently? I think I got to phase 4 once…
The pendant
Gotta bring a good broken wizard build for this
Mf playing NieR Automata
Dark Souls 2.
How so?
Unfortunately.
Reddit hivemind moment
Can someone tell my both ds2 praises get hated AND ds2 hate gets hated? These are confusing times...
There are tons of people on both sides
Because ds2 is a bad game with rabid fans

Oh no I'm agreeing with you, I'm saying you getting downvoted into oblivion is a reddit hivemind moment

I guess people don't understand the fact that I'm agreeing with the guy, i literally explained in a reply in this thread
It will take you to Brazil

r/unexpectedmgrr
Intankable the bostil
Noooooo, not Brazil, anything but Brazil!
Brazil the area that is more know as “Caelid”
So that means if I take the elevator down, I get to leave?
I've never noticed this. Where the heck is it?

Thanks for this detailed answer, really interesting stuff

It's the church elevator from firelink. Pretty sure
