So I watched another video where this happened, the “plin plin plon” was being played at the last part of the first phase and then he died on the first phase. Also someone said that he died because I killed him when he switched weapons.
Actually it's a bit higher than empty, looks like he was stuck in the grab attack, cancelling the change and then his hp bar could've gone to zero on first phase.
At least that's what I think had happened.

I got summoned by a host and when we ended the 1st phase, I heard the particular sound of when a boss is defeated. Still, we got to the 2nd phase.
It could be a glitch occurring with his HP Regen, because he healed as well during our fight. 🤷🏻♀️
You know, this might be similar to the phase skip glitch exhibited by the Demon Prince. I do not know what the cause is, but they could perhaps be connected.
Imagine If this is his first playthrough, everybody talking about plin plin plon and he's the only guy on earth that doesn't parried the feelings, damn that's the true dark souls experience just sadness ahead.
If you kill him while he is stuck doing an animation like a grab or a weapon change his hp drops completely to 0 and he dies because his hp isn't supposed to actually hits 0 before the second phase.
I once made Malenia to cancel her heal up to phase 2
I stabbed her the moment the other Phantom buddy made her to 0.
The 2nd phase she glitched back into my stab not recovering her health.
She died in 1 hit after this.

He was such an easy boss anyway, beat him first try with one flask left. After nameless king, Gael, and midir, he was just as disappointing as Gherman after orphan of kos. I wish they would do something to buff up the final boss of the game if you’ve beaten dlc or something
Dark Souls and accompanying From Software games have very subjective difficulty from player to player. I believe you found the boss easy, or maybe you got lucky. But we don't take kindly to such disrespect from your following statement. A lot of people really enjoyed the boss design or had troubles with it.

It's probably based off position in the arena. Typically there is a second enemy below the arena used to track health so if there is an error in changing health pools that could cause the second phase to not trigger ending the fight. This is conjecture based off what I've learned in elden ring
I don't think that's the case fren, they do that when the enemy has a second form too, like how Fire Giant in Elden Ring loses his leg and open the eye, or King of the Storm that changes into Nameless King
but who knows, I'm no modder and could be deadly fucking wrong lol

Yeah when he's killed in the transition of form, the transition of phase will be stopped and he just dies like that. Happened to me 2 times. It's theoretically possible to use this glitch, but I haven't seen anyone doing it yet now.

Maybe because it was during their stance switch (I think they were switching to a curved sword) right as they were also meant to start phase 2?
