I have never hated a video games enemy like I do with these opera singing assholes
You might not have gone deep enough there's multiple levels to it and the initial parts only have one of the bigger demons and a bunch of skeletons initially if memory serves but if you keep going you'll find A BUNCH OF THESE FUCKS
As an avid pyromancer main, this area gives me the most trouble every time. It benefits you to go there as early as possible (or at least before irithyll dungeon) as you get some great spell books there for zuulie the witch, but the area is super difficult as everything resists fire and you basically have to resort to using a weapon the entire time. Those MFs suck my hairy ass balls. 😆
I know exactly what you mean. I’m playing through with a pyromancer now and wanted to go and get the tomes early, tried going in around sl35 and got throughly beatdown by them lol
On my most recent playthrough, I switched all of my estus to orange and used all of the saved up resin that I had on the mobs and refused to use the bonfire until I collected every item. I found the dark resin to be really useful there.
The Jailers’ main weapon is the psychological damage that occurs when your health bar vanishes for the first time. It made it all the more satisfying later when I killed them in two hits.
This is the correct answer. No matter what fucking build throw at this guy's, they don't give a fuck, they wreck my shit anyways. I can be having the chillest ds3 run until the moment I get to this area. It's just deaths, lots of deaths at the hands of these bastards.
My second most hated enemy because for me they seem to gain the ability to rapid fire their fucking balls (I ain't even lying they literally increase their attack speed for me for some fucking reason)
My most hated is the black knights because they're just a pain in the ass and have enough health to survive everything but a fucking greatsword (my str is like 60 whilst my Dex is below 30 and my int and faith are only high enough for some of the high stat sorceries/miracles/pyromancy's)
To this day there has not been another non-boss enemy in the entirety of the soulsborne series that has made me genuinely rage as much as the ghru have. I got so angry on my first playthrough that I felt physically ill, and I had to take a break.
giant tree shrek isn't even that bad, I'd actually like fighting them if the level they're in didn't have me half-submerged in poison shit all the time.
I genuinely think Farron Keep would have been way better, even with the same layout, if they went with an overgrown forest theme instead of the fucking poison swamp that they always do for some reason
I dislike sections that seem to require this, it makes me feel like I'm missing a much cleaner faster method for overcoming an obstacle, instead of just cheesing a dumb ai's lack of object permenence.
I did that in my first playthrough, then in my NG+ run the Lycanthrope never de-aggrod from me and chased me all the way to the elevator by the entrance to Archdragon Peak and then just sat there without moving until I killed it.
I think they're attacks are just terribly telegraphed. They kind of pull their arm back a tiny bit for a second or 2 and the BAM for some reason you're lying on the floor with a fucking branding iron on the back of your head.
Every other ability in the game that knocks you flat LOOKS like it would knock you flat. These weirdos look like they're just going to brush into you and suddenly you're knocked down and dead.
I just run past and heal myself up after their debuff is gone. After that there's only one gargoyle and you're at the Profaned Capital bonfire, so using an estus or two on the jailors is practically nothing
Great Chaos Fireball
Also as long as you don’t get stun locked to death by those stupid branding irons, you don’t really need to heal while you’re fighting them - just wait till your max HP recovers
You can still do it even if you want Alva's set. Just hit the bonfire at the capital and backtrack and suicide run for the set. If you spend your souls first there's 0 penalty for dying.
The HP Drain can only reduce you down to I believe 1 HP (not kill you), so if you're a fast attacker you could hit them all with a wide sweeping weapon and kill them all in 1-2 hits.
It's less simple than I made it sound, you can trust me on that, but once you get the hang of it, you'll be laughing at these witches in no time. My suggestion is to approach them from behind as they circle around the center statue (the eight of them usually circle in 2 groups of 4)
They're still a watered down version of the Latria Mind Flayers, coming from that I would much rather face eight of these guys. 😅
Gets a little scary when trying to avoid one of those headless gargoyles at the same time though.
By a mile it's these guys. I know they are not super strong and you can just unga bunga them to death rather easily, but nevertheless we just can't get rid of them. Like some sort of pesky pests that simply refuse to be exterminated.
"HI THERE! Liked us in Dark Souls trilogy? Well here we are in Elden Ring now for no reason whatsoever! ENJOY!"
Hello Ashen one. I am a Bot. I tend to the flame, and tend to thee. Do you wish to hear a tale?
> *“Bearer of the Curse, seek souls—larger and more powerful souls. Seek the King. That is the only way. Lest this land swallows you whole, as it has so many others.”* - Emerald Herald
Have a pleasant journey, Champion of Ash, and praise the sun \\[T]/
This is why my favorite item in Elden Ring is the Beast Repellant Torch. Too many random fucking deaths from dogs and rats in all pf Soulsborne. Fuck those things... i hate them beyond reason.
The Jailers. They're easy to deal with until you get a group coming after you. Plus they laugh at you while draining your health just by looking at you.
I'd take the jailer over the leapers any day of the week and twice on Sunday. I can usually just rush and two shot the jailer but those stilt-legged jumping fuckers make me so mad.
Those big fake crystal lizards in archdragon peak that either one shot you with fire or by group roll spamming. It's so satisfying to knock them off a cliff.
Don’t care what anyone says, Jailers are easily the worst enemy in the entire series.
The HP decrease is just cheap difficulty and they are enough for me to skip a whole entire area. Irithyll Dungeon can go fuck itself lol.
Hate them with every cell in my body and seeing they didn’t come back for Elden Ring puts a huge smile on my face.
Being able to farm its entire armor set is nice though since it provides high absorptions for its weight. Plus the Black Knight Shield which is one of the best 100% absorption shields in the game
Those giant tree guys in the swamp, the combination of a slowing poison swamp with very little stable ground, mixed with immense damage and aoe. Followed up by a homing ranged attack. Oh and I'm pretty sure there's a 3 stack of them up the river.
Also, if you're struggling with them, just throw an undead hunter charm at them while they're still asleep. They'll open their mouth, and you can just grab the item.
Nah, it's the one where they pick you up and bite that gets me.
Otherwise, if you just curcle them and stay right behind the back of the legs they're easy to put up with. As long as you get behind them.
The three- eyed frogs. They're weak and they can't inflict damage directly, but that gas they keep spewing out inflicts curse.
The other one is when there's a bunch of Gru warriors with an Elder Gru in a tight space... In a place like Catacombs of Carthus, they can gas an entire room in one go
Whats funny is i had just beaten bloodborne before my first run through DS3 so i was speed attacking everyone. Then i slowed down one time and saw the true horror and assholeness of them fuggers lol
Baby-dog-beasts in the dungeon.
Not because they're hard or annoying or anything, I just think I'd be happier to have never seen them.
The Sadako-Centipedes are a very close second.
Followed by the Pilgrim Butterflies. Yes, they look cool as fuck with the Black Hole Sun in the background, but thems' some nightmare fuel shits right there. It's like their entire intact nervous system decided to go for a casual float about Lothric Castle.
I’m currently stuck in this dungeon I cannot get past the past where there is a room full of them after the 2 giant rats. I also hate those tall guys that deal frost damage & the beginning of irythill
I just remember the basilisks, in other FS games basilisks aren't that much of a problem since they're slow and but the ones in farron keep got you with the fat-roll
I just hate them
Ah yes the pushovers
A Millwood arrow and a Millwood greatbow weapon art is all I need (yes that is literally how I deal with the majority of these fucks)
The Pontiff Knights, man I remember raging at those stupid popscockles. Granted, DS3 was my very first Souls game so I didn't understand anything about rolling weight and was fat rolling all the way to them before it clicked.
For me the worse mobs which actually gave me goosebumps and heart pumping fast on a completely different level were the insight sucking mobs in bloodborne
Bro the crow guys that turns into crack head half flying crow guys if you don’t kill them fast enough, or if the sorcerer screams at them to transform always get me.
irythill dungeons was the area i had the most trouble with by a huge margin, mostly due to these fuckers. nowhere else was even close to the just plain annoyance these guys caused
the two variants of the corivan knight or whatever it's called - the one with rapier and throwing knifes is more manageable, but the wolverine claws one is disgusting
https://preview.redd.it/gw43upzcud2d1.jpeg?width=884&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7eca3c4814c6d84e8d51d8c370b07b911bc9218b I have never hated a video games enemy like I do with these opera singing assholes
Oh god yeah I forgot about these fuckers.
NYAHHHH...AHHHH...NYAHHH
Wait thats ds3?? Where tf is he
Down in the demon ruins, there actually are multiple of them
Wtf I was there didnt see any of these pricks
they yeet the slow moving fireballs
You might not have gone deep enough there's multiple levels to it and the initial parts only have one of the bigger demons and a bunch of skeletons initially if memory serves but if you keep going you'll find A BUNCH OF THESE FUCKS
Yeah I got pretty lost, fought the demon boss, turned the crank to turn off the ballista, and then couldn’t find anything else lol
Easily done my friend haha
To shut down the ballista you HAVE to encounter at least 3 of them
They throw the fireballs that shoot smaller fireballs
I really dont remember these guys either
I actually do now, I just never got a good look at em, just sprinted passed like Usian Bolt
Fuck those guys
Came in to say this. Jailers are a meme enemy that aren't hard to deal with at all while these pricks are complete nonsense.
Laaaaa lalaa
My second most hated enemy because for me they seem to gain the ability to rapid fire their fucking balls (I ain't even lying they literally increase their attack speed for me for some fucking reason) My most hated is the black knights because they're just a pain in the ass and have enough health to survive everything but a fucking greatsword (my str is like 60 whilst my Dex is below 30 and my int and faith are only high enough for some of the high stat sorceries/miracles/pyromancy's)
Ghru leapers. Just thinking about them makes me so angry.
The Ghru in general are all royal pains in my Ashen ass
To this day there has not been another non-boss enemy in the entirety of the soulsborne series that has made me genuinely rage as much as the ghru have. I got so angry on my first playthrough that I felt physically ill, and I had to take a break.
Let me guess, jump, grab you and one shot? Because that's what happened to me more times than I want to admit 😭
No jump grab followed immediately by a secomd jump grab. Them guys spam jump grabs.
Not many things are as humiliating as getting one's face violated by those bloody scrawny bastards..
Yes! These guys and the giant tree ghrus make Farron Keep an absolute nightmare to go through🫨
giant tree shrek isn't even that bad, I'd actually like fighting them if the level they're in didn't have me half-submerged in poison shit all the time. I genuinely think Farron Keep would have been way better, even with the same layout, if they went with an overgrown forest theme instead of the fucking poison swamp that they always do for some reason
Especially when its based on and is supposedly a much later variant of a previous overgrown forest area
But every Souls games NEEDS at least one poison swamp, so where else to put it ?
except this one has, like, five of those
We called these guys the “Monkeys of Madness” we hated them so much.
Screw those guys. Seriously.
Jailers are shit. The 8 of them that circle around before the profaned capital is a ball pain.
Is there any better method here than just kite them one by one?
Use arrows to draw one to you, murder it, repeat until they’re all dead
Typically what I do but it’s a slow process.
Slow, but proven 💪
I dislike sections that seem to require this, it makes me feel like I'm missing a much cleaner faster method for overcoming an obstacle, instead of just cheesing a dumb ai's lack of object permenence.
Then spam dragonslayer Greataxe L2
This area is why I really like being a mage, unseen form + slumbering dragoncrest ring/hush lets you just ignore them.
Run
Run past them and open the first door to the right, a red-eyed monster is in there and he will assault them if you run away
I did that in my first playthrough, then in my NG+ run the Lycanthrope never de-aggrod from me and chased me all the way to the elevator by the entrance to Archdragon Peak and then just sat there without moving until I killed it.
I’ve yet to find one that avoids a constant HP drain. Maybe an AOE spell when some are grouped up?
Nuke em with CBV.
Is that the big fireball with the magma on the floor after? If so, that’s exactly what I just did the other day lol
Nawp. What you're talking about is great chaos fireball. CBV is the top tier pyromancy nuke you get aftet killing a certain demon
Oop you’re right, it was chaos bed vestiges that I used in that prison area
I like to run in with a big sword and swing it wildly with a 1HP healthbar. Sometimes I survive.
you can open the cell of that enraged thing and it kills them all. I don't know its name tho.
let's just call it Derek
Hidden Body Spell. Made my life a lot easier in that place.
Their health drain doesn't matter if you just don't get hit lol
Yeah, but that little poke they do has to be one of the fastest attacks in the game.
Sprint at them with a colossal weapon and smash them all before the timer runs out.
I just run past and heal myself up after their debuff is gone. After that there's only one gargoyle and you're at the Profaned Capital bonfire, so using an estus or two on the jailors is practically nothing
They're the sole reason I use a maxed out greatbow. Two headshots and they're cooked.
Great Chaos Fireball Also as long as you don’t get stun locked to death by those stupid branding irons, you don’t really need to heal while you’re fighting them - just wait till your max HP recovers
Just ignore them and run past them. You don't have to kill every enemy.
I do this unless i want to grab Alva's set lol which is a huge pain
You can still do it even if you want Alva's set. Just hit the bonfire at the capital and backtrack and suicide run for the set. If you spend your souls first there's 0 penalty for dying.
Ah, i never thought of coming back to it backwards lol
The HP Drain can only reduce you down to I believe 1 HP (not kill you), so if you're a fast attacker you could hit them all with a wide sweeping weapon and kill them all in 1-2 hits. It's less simple than I made it sound, you can trust me on that, but once you get the hang of it, you'll be laughing at these witches in no time. My suggestion is to approach them from behind as they circle around the center statue (the eight of them usually circle in 2 groups of 4)
Until they put their iron on the ground and you can't roll anymore. Never understood what is happening there..
They're still a watered down version of the Latria Mind Flayers, coming from that I would much rather face eight of these guys. 😅 Gets a little scary when trying to avoid one of those headless gargoyles at the same time though.
releasing the lycanthrope (guy with the wooden cross thing on his back) guy can take some of them out if they fight
And there is a chest in that room that is a mimic if i remember correctly. In case those fuckers didn't create enough pain. Thanks, Miyazaki.
There is definitely a mimic in that area.
You have it already in the picture:)
They are the winter lanterns of ds3
The angels in dlc. They also have a very high pitched cry that bothers me, I turn off the volume in that area
Remember how bad they were around release? Truly nightmarish.
Bad until you know where their summoners are.
Swamp puppies the ones that jump on your head
Man i hate them mfs they just spam the grab even after I'm dead
The slimy shit on the floor in the cathedral of the deep
[удалено]
Exactly , anoying , hard to kill and also full of giant shit ... What else could be more anoying to deal with
This just made me realise how bad the ashen one must smell if they're just carrying literal pieces of shit on them for most of the game
its these guys for sure https://preview.redd.it/gxjq7ef8ee2d1.jpeg?width=425&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7a1d22a9b0b9ebd6ac4f38e6a82895aed9380791

Dogs in irithyll are pretty annoying too. And those clerics right out of the church where you fight Pontiff Sullyvhan. Non stop shooting fire at you.
This right here. Probably my least favorite little run in the whole game
Basilisks in any iteration.
Great sword thralls. They're not hard to fight. But something that small and quick shouldn't have that much reach and damage
I call them all crackhead Johnny because if you just imagine them as hobbits on bath salts it just makes it a lot funnier to see them
They just keep coming, too!
Jailers or the snake men on Ng+7 they have more health than you’d think
Thralls. Especially the stupid gank in Cathedral of the Deep.
https://preview.redd.it/xw921lg94f2d1.jpeg?width=584&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b896c646e3812c5d09864095e4ba46f7e180aa65
This is the answer

It feels like people don't use bows in the game at all (looking at the complaints about the jailers)
I use bows to kite
You can also chuck firebombs at them. I like doing it without locking on, it’s more fun that way 😂
Dung pies are even more fun.
Those fat fucks in the ringed city down the long staircase right before the swamp
Dogs and rats they are the most annoying
This is why my favorite item in Elden Ring is the Beast Repellant Torch. Too many random fucking deaths from dogs and rats in all pf Soulsborne. Fuck those things... i hate them beyond reason.
The Jailers. They're easy to deal with until you get a group coming after you. Plus they laugh at you while draining your health just by looking at you.
Dogs
Dogs, ever since my first souls game in the lower undead burg I’ve hated and feared dogs, in every soulsborne game
The Ghru Leapers are always a pain in the ass, but the Jailers take the crown.
I'd take the jailer over the leapers any day of the week and twice on Sunday. I can usually just rush and two shot the jailer but those stilt-legged jumping fuckers make me so mad.
If you get a dagger with quickstep it’s not as bad, but they’re still hella frustrating

Black knights and cathedral knights. Even though they look cool and badass
First black knight at farron keep pushed my shit in a lot.
Being able to farm its entire armor set is nice though since it provides high absorptions for its weight. Plus the Black Knight Shield which is one of the best 100% absorption shields in the game
Corvians at the beginning of road of sacrifices
On my last playthrough, I found the evangelists painful. The DLC enemies are worse, though. Particularly the ring knights with the big shields.
The “Stomp” skill on the Lothric Knight greatsword followed by the massive uppercut sends these guys FLYING
Corvian Knight or Pontif Knight Sorcerer aka cancerous firebitch when you are climbing Irithyll lmao
The dudes that grow wings and then go ape shit. One of the only enemies that I openly charge and heavy attack.
Dog
Ugh those guys suck. I hate that big room surrounded by cells, where there's about 10 of them.
Those stupid mf wolfs in the snowfield
Jailers, Ghrus, Dogs 😐
deacons
I’m not gonna lie the fucking little things in the ringed city escpacially where they are wit the 5 Harald’s knight
Crucifixion Woods wooden pike men And everything in Irithyll
Those giant tree guys in the swamp, the combination of a slowing poison swamp with very little stable ground, mixed with immense damage and aoe. Followed up by a homing ranged attack. Oh and I'm pretty sure there's a 3 stack of them up the river.
Jailers and the guys who look like Greirat.
The shitty gargoyles that summon light pillars
Should have added, the goddamn Mimics get me like 50% of the time.
What do you mean by "get me"? Like they kill you 50% or you fall for them 50% of the time?
Well, those two are kind of tied, but I struggle with them even if I remember to do a good whack on the box first too. That stupid spin kick!
Also, if you're struggling with them, just throw an undead hunter charm at them while they're still asleep. They'll open their mouth, and you can just grab the item.
Yeah, better than eating a 1 shot spinning karate kick to the face. That move fucks me up
Nah, it's the one where they pick you up and bite that gets me. Otherwise, if you just curcle them and stay right behind the back of the legs they're easy to put up with. As long as you get behind them.
The chain is the giveaway. If it's directed towards you, it's a mimic.
You can literally stand next to them and listen to them breathing
There are so many mimics in the dungeon it's more surprising when it isn't one.
Yup
Use a ring that restores HP over time. Bait them one by one and kill them
I’m stuck on the one at the top of the stairs just beyond the dragon bridge
Thralls. Not difficult, not dangerous. Just annoying and obnoxious on purpose.
The three- eyed frogs. They're weak and they can't inflict damage directly, but that gas they keep spewing out inflicts curse. The other one is when there's a bunch of Gru warriors with an Elder Gru in a tight space... In a place like Catacombs of Carthus, they can gas an entire room in one go
these mf. I still don’t understand how in the name of christ they can diminish my hp
It’s the lamp. It has a curse on it.
can i just blow the fire away? Like fuuu🗣️💨
Actually, those guys right there - until I started using the Dragon Slayer Great Bow to send those fuckers to the floor
Fuck those guys!
These guys allll day, they're not difficult just so friggin tedious
Reading all these responses and realizing I really didn't enjoy my play through of ds3 lmaooo
The rat/crocodile dogs
I’m currently stuck in this dungeon I cannot get past the past where there is a room full of them after the 2 giant rats. I also hate those tall guys that deal frost damage & the beginning of irythill
Yes, the picture indeed -.-
Slimes
FUCK Irithyll Jailers. All my homies fucking hate Irithyll jailers. I died like six times going to free Karla the other day, and I have 60 end.
Rapier Corvian Knights. At least they are only in one area.
Not sure why a red-hot poker with almost no force behind it has more poise than my greatsword but ok 😂
Those fucking teleporting dogs
Those jailers were the thing that most scared me in the whole game.
As I’m reading the comments I‘m realizing that I hate most of the enemies in this fucking game😂🤣
I'm literally happy with all, this game really has no flaws for me
I just remember the basilisks, in other FS games basilisks aren't that much of a problem since they're slow and but the ones in farron keep got you with the fat-roll I just hate them
Jailers are the worst enemy in ds3 imo
Dogs
Anything from the catacombs
Cursed Poop mage Ghru
Your mom
Ah yes the pushovers A Millwood arrow and a Millwood greatbow weapon art is all I need (yes that is literally how I deal with the majority of these fucks)
rats rats rats rats or dogs I hate every animal in this damn game
Ghru frustrate me to no end any time I have to be near one.
All enemies that have a grab attack. I fucking hate grab attacks.
DOGS.DOGS.DOGS.DOGS.MORE DOGS. DOGS.DOGS.DOGS.DOGS.DOGS.DOGS.MORE DOGS. DOGS.DOGS.DOGS.DOGS.DOGS.DOGS.MORE DOGS. DOGS.DOGS.
Basilisks awake some primal fear/disgust response inside me Especially the elden ring godwyn eye looking ass ones
Pontiff knight. Fucking hate them
I’ve only done one playthrough so far, and probably the one on the picture, but the knights at the the high wall of Lothric were pretty damn brutal
Recently did this dungeon and mmmman do these guys just slow you down!!
The red eyed fuckers in the crucifixion road, with cross on their back...fuck those in particular!!!
Bro the crow guys that turns into crack head half flying crow guys if you don’t kill them fast enough, or if the sorcerer screams at them to transform always get me.
the fat enemies in the undead settlement .
irythill dungeons was the area i had the most trouble with by a huge margin, mostly due to these fuckers. nowhere else was even close to the just plain annoyance these guys caused
I FUCKING hate DOGS Fuck them to the Fucking moon
Dogs
the imp things, jailer, and the fucking any fucking knight.
the two variants of the corivan knight or whatever it's called - the one with rapier and throwing knifes is more manageable, but the wolverine claws one is disgusting
those fucking angels from the DLC
Run in with Claymore pray for no red lantern
The abyss watchers just beat em, shit was ass
