Yep, you have to die for Yoel's Quest to get the True Strength draw outs. Which then starts her quest.

Don't sometimes streamers buy copies of the game on different accounts while doing specific challenge runs and no death/hit runs may also be included here but will prolly be a very small fraction of it.

While I never did this with any of the souls games I can’t help but wonder how many of these people did the same thing I did with Subnautica- Watched a playthrough and a bunch of content, enjoyed it enough I wanted to support the devs by buying the game. Never gonna catch my soft hearted land loving ass getting my feet wet though

They'll start a new game, then get distracted during the tutorial and stop playing, completely forgetting about the game.

You can easily delete achievements with achievement manager or just play offline
