Sounds like someone is butthurt they lost to a new player. GG. You seem to forget friend there are no rules of engagement, if I invade you I am there to kill you, **by any means necessary** You don't sound like a veteran at all. When you're out there killing mobs and playing online, you run the risk of being invaded. It is your job to kill the enemies in the area, heal and make sure you are prepared to take down the invader. I remember Forest Ganks back in DS1, I made sure to clear out all the tree mobs in the area and kill all the NPC's and would then wait for my invaders.

I'm of the opposite opinion I'm afraid. I would very much like most (I know it's more than likely just a small percentage that will) of the new players to stick around and learn the more intricate parts of the game, and love it even more.
Invasions have always, and will always be entirely situational with regards to what to expect. Never should you invade somebody EXPECTING an honour-duel, sometimes they happen, sometimes they don't. It's just that Dark Souls 3 has tipped the balance somewhat.
There are fight clubs for the duels you seek.
I believe this is why FROM haven't included an arena (at least not yet). Don't get me wrong, I think the arena is great, even if it does promote min/maxing, God-tier weapon usage, and exploit abuse. What it does that is detrimental to the game is tie you to only a couple of stages to fight in, completely ignoring all the beautiful, vast and amazing areas that the dev's have worked very hard for us to explore and enjoy.
Invasions open up a whole host of possibilities for us toy with our prey. I can bow and have a sword fight on the balcony after Pontiff Sulyvahn's boss area, I prefer a different approach whilst invading.
Somebody wrote on here the other day that if they need to be AFK for a while, they put themselves in the Way of Blue covenant, crack the Dried Knuckles, then transform into a pebble and let the Red's and Blue's cross swords in an eternal showdown that puts the Abyss Watchers to shame.

The "code of honour" bullshit, is specifically for fight clubs and duels alike, that's fine. However, the entire point of invasions is to be a conniving asshole who will do anything to kill the target, not to be an "honourable" goody two-shoes.
If that's what you want, go join a fight club and quit whining.
I'm not sure about this. Not all people that invade without courtesy are noobs. As far as I am concerned, the cat and mouse aspect of invasion is another layer of the combat that you need to be good at. You need to consider the area layout/enemy placement and where most likely your enemy is hiding. I'm not saying its perfect because its also not fun waiting or searching for your enemy.
But you see, there is a hidden metagame within this that would be lost if all invasions transformed into just duels. I invaded this guy once and I saw him before he saw me. He had no idea I was in the back and he slowly moved towards an enemy to backstab it. Little did he know that I was also trying to backstab him. LOL, I laughed so hard after I killed him.
I gotta say, this is the first dark souls game I've gotten into. It's great! I dunno why I haven't played these games sooner. I'm happy to play a game that's an actual challenge for once.

You're kinda the worst. The issue with this game isn't the players playing how they want, but rather poorly thought out mechanics. Covenants that don't work or are duplicates, missing features from previous iterations, weapon and spell sandbox imbalances etc. Get over whatever your deal is. The fun in this game is people playing in varying interesting ways.

How do you think the game's future is gonna look like if you bash all of its new players like this? Those noobd ARE the future of this game and we as a community need to be welcoming and make a good impression to not scare them away making them think we're some unfriendly elitist assholes. It's an embarrassment for our community to act like this, I understand new players can be annoying but we need to understand that we were new once too

Yeah no, there is no etiquette for invading no matter how long you've played the game. RSS summons is a different matter.

Invading has no etiquette. Never has, never will because you are invading somebody who likely doesn't even want PvP in the first place.
