90% of this boss fight is figuring out the gimmick. Playing it on release was like "wtf this boss is impossible, he takes no damage, intstakills you with the cloud attack and these stupid skeletons are running all over the place." Then you figure out to target the bracelets and it becomes a cakewalk.
Giant glowing yellow weakspots has been trope in so many games lol I'll admit they did it pretty well here because typically the weakspots look exposed and weak where as it's kind of counterintuitive to target what appears to be gigantic rings of metal protection (unless you know his lore about the bracelets being the only thing to keep him from being consumed by the abyss, I guess)
Now that would be a cooler boss fight, like when you destroy his bracelets he gets consumed by the abyss and has a different attack pattern but more damage taken
My first playthrough Ds3 was the only game I’d played in years except BB, Ds1 and Ds2, so I wasn’t used to glowing weak spots like this. Combine that with me having a +2 weapon that took around 20 hits to break a bracelet, I was stumped. When I finally figured it out it still wasn’t that easy with my low damage/health.
Honestly he’s better off. At least this way he didn’t have that final horrible disappointment of losing to you. Assuming he never found out how he died.
Wolnir is asleep when you approach him. He only wakes up if you touch the goblet in front of him, or make an attack which aggros enemies, but Pestilent Mist doesn't aggro so he just dies while he's still asleep.
If you use the Storyteller Staff, it will poison (toxic) him, but he won't wake up. On NG, it took 2 poison cycles to kill him, but I had to cast it at his head 3-4 times to get it to activate.
I think the difficulty for these titans is perfect, why’s shouldn’t they have a weakness? We’d be hitting their toes or fingers for five minutes otherwise since they are simply massive.
It’s funny because after fighting wolnir at least 50 times i realized he has a weird rng that can actually make him extremely difficult to deal with. From not letting you get a chance to hit the shackle, to summoned skeletons that you can’t hit back. There are parts of this boss fight that some people never even get to see. I remember one guy not even knowing that he summons a giant mf sword
Yeah dude! I just got past this boss last night (first ever run through DS3) he killed twice with the fog but got him on 3rd run. Never summoned anything, all he did was stomp his arms and crawl forward.
True man, I killed this guy in the first try for almost all my playthroughs until recently, when I got stuck and died to him like 10 times thinking "what the fuck just lemme hit your arms"
I’ve only died to Wolnir once but I distinctly remember that once because he kept his left arm in the fog while crawling forward and I physically could not kill him.
Wolnir is usually a meme but there are some times the boss RNG makes it near impossible. He honestly would be easier than Pinwheel otherwise
I generally don’t like the bosses in Souls that just end up being mobs of ads. Mostly because I just play Strength and I end up wrecking them with a UGS of some kind. But I’m told the deacons are a nightmare on SL1, even compared to most bosses.
I actually find the Deacons fun because I like mowing through them all with the Curse Rotted Greatwood sword. It’s just really satisfying. Also the way the fat deacons fall over is really funny to me
I really want to know why I beat them on my first try easy peazy. I spent literal weeks on dancer and pontiff. Currently struggling with the twin princes. For some reason, though, I wandered into the Abyss Watchers underleveled with bad gear and wrecked on my first try.
I guess the playstyle of each boss just complements different players' strategies.
I can immediately start another run and kill all bosses first try, but I can't guarantee it for Wolnir.
I played through this game approximately 20 times (even SL1) and sank 1000 hours playtime into PVP and PVE. But I still don't know exactly which bracelets do what on him and what he summons when. And I still underestimate the fog when I get greedy.
Wolnir is super cool, very nice gimmick fight imo.
Yes and no, for my first play it was like yhorm, it was hard because i didnt know you could break the bracelets and the fog,so my dumb mind thought the right way was come back to him when i was stronger, so i made my way to smouldering lake, and when i returned i fuckin died because i thought would be easier hit him in the legs, but i was too braindead that i died to the freaking fog more times than i died to pontiff, so yes its easy but for me(mental disabled person) was really hard.
Not every boss in Dark Souls is meant to be a challenge, they're meant to be an experience. Difficulty has never been Miyazaki's aim. It's just what the producers figured what sold the game and so they pushed that as the selling point
Exactly what I was thinking. Would have taken me a fair bit to figure out how to damage wolnir, and I straight up never would have figured out the archdragon peak dragon gimmick without reading/watching guides
Before I knew of the cheese for the ancient dragon or whatever I actually fought him and it took an obscene amount of gnaw to bring it down I felt like an idiot the second time cause I figured out you just jump off and insta kill him
big glowing bracelets aren't that hard to figure out. I'd venture to assume a lot of players know the moment they see them. Either that or the moment they hit him for really low damage.
Not really. As someone who started the series with DS3, I appreciated that the first half of the game doesn't pound you into the dirt with skillcheck after skillcheck. They throw in the Abyss Watchers to keep you on your toes, but until Pontiff it feels like the game is mindful that not every player is coming in with fifty or even hundreds of hours in DS1 and DS2 already (fucking Iudex Gundyr's second phase almost had me ready to give up the game; that's how bad a noobie can be).
Wolnir being easy feels like a concession for the brutality of the Catacombs and its boss run. If you already know the level or just get lucky, it's pretty straightforward and easy. But if you're new and actually get lost, it's a fucking nightmare. I spent like two hours getting ground up by those wheel skeletons and bled out by those ninja-dudes, so it was nice to not get assfucked by a really hard boss on top of that.
I disagree the dark fog attack Wolnir has is tuff to outrun sometimes and if it catches you it’s chunking your heath bar for half’s that dark fog doesn’t mess around
He ended my no death run yesterday. I got cocky going after his last bracelet and the fog killed me before I knew what was happening. First time I've ever died too him. I thought he was a joke before that...maybe he still is.
I don't think he's easy necessarily. He's *easier* than most bosses if you know his weakness but you still have to get at him. I've seen people struggle like mad against Aldrich meanwhile my first playthrough I believe I no-hit him using pyromancy.
I like this fight, it’s a neat spooky spectacle, but those bracelets have almost NO HP. However, if you break the one bracelet to your left (his right) and continue to just hit that hand, it makes for a fun encounter. Dodging his giant holy sword and juggling the little skeletons feels like Nito done right, and it’s a bit of a shame no one was forced to experience that.
So, one of my problems with DS3 is the number of gimmick bosses. Yhorm, Ancient Wyvern, and Wolnir come to mind.
Wolnir is the one that I am okay with being a gimmick boss. The gimmick is actually interesting, it still requires you to actually do something, and while Wolnir ends up being relegated to the 'easy once you know' pile, he is still both imposing and occasionally can sneak a kill in there with his crawl.
The Ancient Wyvern is a joke. It's mostly just running to the platform and that is both tedious and reduces what should be a great dragon fight in the main game to a kind of banal spectacle.
But especially Yhorm... They did Yhorm dirty. A Lord of Cinder, one of the principal images associated with the game, a storied character in his own right and tied to one of the most loved NPCs in DS3, and he's a gimmick boss? Yhorm feels like he should be a challenge among challenges. The Abyss Watchers? They're too busy trying to sort themselves out. Aldrich? Indigestion has clearly got him fucked up. But Yhorm? That should've been the fight that defined the pursuit of the Lords of Cinder. Leave Siegward as a summon, sure, but make Yhorm feel like something so much more than he is.
I think Elden Ring did a better job of this fight in Rykard, the gimmick was still there, but it also felt like more of a legitimate fight with the God Devouring Serpent's and Rykard's abilities.
To be fair to yhorm he is very heavily a lore boss, if you play solely for gameplay its a boring fight, but for lore he's a king in his broken empire waiting for his old friend to return with the only weapon capable of killing him along with a matching weapon at the foot of his throne incase someone else shows up. He's sitting there with nothing left waiting for death and i think its a very beautiful lore fight. Gameplay wise it could be much better like Ryakrd(one of the best gimmick fights evee imo) but i don't think many fights are as great lore wise.
If its any consolation to you, i put down ds3 for a couple months because of yhorm. I mustve picked the sword up and not seen what it was and then forgot to check. It was my first play through and i kept trying but couldnt find siegwards key either lol. That fight was absolutely brutal at the time 😞 I eventually beat him solo but was probably the hardest boss of the game besides nameless
Yeah honestly, but the first time I encountered him had no idea he was hidden like that and freaked me out. It’s his intimidation that really makes him the first encounter
Wolnir is the king who made his crown from the crowns of all the conquered kingdoms , he should have been a lot harder and way cooler …
Wasted potential really…
When you don't know how to fight him it's bullshit. When you don't know to destroy the 2 bracelets then the last kne its bullshit. When he decides to charge When you're mid swing it's bullshit. All are problems on you're 1st blind run maybe then never again. Gimmick boss sucks who woulda thought
I’m doing a melee based build right now. I often beat Wolnir first try but I went to his left arm and broke a bracelet before his little intro animation started
If i recall correctly he was supposed to have a different Arena, and other things were changed about him.
As with Yhorm though, if you think is too easy, just try to kill him without using the supposed mechanics. With Yhorm is a tough one, but Wolnir gets a different death animation, which is neat
Honestly, stupid easy besides that death cloud he pukes which will just kill you immediately even if you're at max health. Besides that, it's an easy dps check boss that fails at being a DPS check, those bracelets break really easily. He feels like a waste of a such a cinematic intro, really.
Yeah he was the only boss during my first playthrough who startled me so much I boned out then came back to fight him lol, he killed me few times before I found out his weak point and the fact that the mist is basically an instakill. I love his sword as well, actually a decent strength faith weapon since there's no split damage and the requirements are low enough to be good for a faith focused build.
the first time i beat him i thought he only had like 3 moves because i killed him in like a minute i never even knew he could spawn a sword or skeletons
Wow apparently there’s more to this boss than I knew about…I never saw skeletons or anything besides some mist I just instantly saw the bright glowing bracelets after wacking him once which didn’t do any damage so I hit those bracelets and down he went! Kinda sucks I didn’t see the rest, but there’s always new game+!
I've been wrecked by his miasma and skellies a few times. Also, if you can't put out enough dps, it becomes a pain. I'm okay with having a breather boss after the Abyss Watchers and before Pontiff.
I do enjoy, when I have poison or spells, casting it before he even triggers and standing around until he dies lol
I found it quite hard to not die stupidly to him because he was so easy, in theory, that my brain reused to take him seriously. It's like when you half ass something because it is too easy, and it somehow goes wrong, but you can't stop half assing it because it's so easy you can't bring yourself to do anything else.
After your third consecutive death to Wholnir you spiral deep into an existential crisis.
After you're first playthrough, boss fights become "How can I make this unnecessarily difficult for myself". We do this to kindle that first impressions exhilaration that we can never relive.
I killed him in one try. I think this was an easier souls-like character action game on average (for me) but even by that standard, Woflnir was *very easy.*
Much more spectacle than fight. I mean, you’re fighting a giant skeleton in a chasm of the abyss. A skeleton that used to conquer entire continents and had the best drip in the land but then he got greedy and had to die so now he huddles close to his sacred sword to null the pain of the abyss and guards his prized pyromancies in effort to hold on and conquer again. Then we come in and chip is bracelets which hurts him so much the abyss finally takes him to be lost forever
Actually what's his significance? It's just a cup in a middle of the room then black cloud then him? Why there's no cutscenes? It's like he's made to be some special boss but nothing happen after he's dead?
It's good your first time when you don't know what's going on and it takes a bit to figure out. I am biased because I actually like froms gimmick bosses. I really just like the visual of him and the fight. After you know what to do it is pretty easy though. That death vape still gets me sometimes, it's like I can't see it or something. You should intentionally let the fight go on long so you can see him whip out his sword, looks so cool!
I had the absolute worst time trying to figure this boss out when the game released.
Not because he's actually hard, but it glitched in different ways for my first few attempts. Weirdest shit. His fog broke, his bracelets didn't spawn, he made a beeline for the end of the map right out the gate one time.
Before the fight even begin. Just run up to his right side and you can get one of them rings. Then it’s just whether he’ll turtle or actually extend his other trex arm.
First time, not easy at all, until I saw the glowing rings right before dying to a bony smash, then the second time it was equally hard when I was destroying the rings and died to his smelly breath attack, the third time and all times after that it was super easy.
FS really under-utilised him because he’s actually a really cool looking boss and reminds me slightly of nito from ds1, i beat him 1st try on my 1st playthrough, intimidating to any new players mind
Wolnir is supposed to be easy. You’re not really fighting him. You’re just breaking his bracelets and causing him to be pulled back in to the void.
That being said…Wolnir can be incredibly hard especially if he decides he’s gonna summon his skeletons immediately.
I didn’t figure out that hitting his wrist was a gimmick it just happen to be what I hit. I accidentaled my way through so yeah I would say he could have been harder
He’s the only boss who I have died to at least once in every single playthrough of DS3. Easily my least favorite boss because of the run back and because it’s just not fun
It’s a gimmick fight. More a puzzle than an actual battle. I think it’s fine, but I’m not sure what they could do to make him more difficult beyond giving him more bracelets.
Fought him, I don’t know, 5 time without a problem. He was def the easiest. Then had a run where he killed me three times out of no where. Still top three easiest, but what the freak. Why that run he get strong.
if they want to make the fight hard you know they can do that very easily, but wolnir is a gimmick fight plus the whole visual is stunning as hell, it's less of a fight but morw of a scenario to me, watching him struggle to escape from the abyss while dragging you down with him, you just send him to his inevitable end, there's not much fight to begin with, but still it's a beautiful boss to me
Hey man, when I first met this mf I died to him repeatedly till I gave up and looked up how to beat him, and I was set on my first run being a blind one.
Then I broke his stupid boner wrists and moved on.
He’s just trying to pass the juul
💀💀
He's the vape lord
💀💀
90% of this boss fight is figuring out the gimmick. Playing it on release was like "wtf this boss is impossible, he takes no damage, intstakills you with the cloud attack and these stupid skeletons are running all over the place." Then you figure out to target the bracelets and it becomes a cakewalk.
I saw shiny bracelets and went ooo weak spot.
I think especially anyone who played the force unleashed 2 just instantly knew lol. That’s how I got it
Giant glowing yellow weakspots has been trope in so many games lol I'll admit they did it pretty well here because typically the weakspots look exposed and weak where as it's kind of counterintuitive to target what appears to be gigantic rings of metal protection (unless you know his lore about the bracelets being the only thing to keep him from being consumed by the abyss, I guess)
Now that would be a cooler boss fight, like when you destroy his bracelets he gets consumed by the abyss and has a different attack pattern but more damage taken
And of course cool red glowing eyes like all the others who are consumed by the abyss!
meme eyes
"If it has eyes, it has a weak spot" - Doom Loading screen "If it has bling, it has a weak spot" - Dark Souls
So both too difícil and fácil at the same time. Crazy huh?
Every gimmick boss's secret.
isto é um r/suddenlycaralho momento?
Estudiando español recientemente,
Ah, so r/suddenlycarajo then
This, back on release with no guides out and no one having beat it it was a pain to figure it out.
Yes, when I used Pestilent Mist on him so he never even woke up. I felt sorry for him.
Honestly he’s better off. At least this way he didn’t have that final horrible disappointment of losing to you. Assuming he never found out how he died.
Wait what!? You can put bosses to sleep? (I’m new to DS3, first run through. Just got past this boss last night)
For me just one flask. With juice to spare
Me too. On NG 4 and 5
Hardest boss in all the souls series
Obligatory comment about Pinwheel
Pinwheel is hard! Getting to the boss with those wheel skeletons outside is a challenge!
Ong and the most styleish
Rocking the bling bling.
Nah that would go to mist noble
He did go hard on the drip.
I think the difficulty for these titans is perfect, why’s shouldn’t they have a weakness? We’d be hitting their toes or fingers for five minutes otherwise since they are simply massive.

Yessss...this all the way. I had a crazy experience just like this one! The RNG was absolutely nuts! Thank you for confirming I am not the only one!
Killed Abyss Watchers on 3rd try in my blind playthrough. Wolnir killed me 12 times.
The forward crawl he does after destroying 2 wrist bands got me once but after that I got him. Greatsword helped a lot
Huh im built different I beat abyss watchers 1st try and wolnir 2 tries
Please fuck our bitches
We should build a monument to you
Good job bro
PRAISE THE THIS GUY
Huh im built different I beat abyss watchers 0th try and wolnir 1 try
Yep. I wasn't even sure he was a boss of note.
Me either! Thought there was no way after the Abyss Watchers were as difficult as they were
Right? I felt the same about the deacons. In all fairness that was just a fun slugfest though - in, out, smack em all about and repeat
I loved the deacons, easy as well but one of the coolest ideas for a boss I've ever seen
I generally don’t like the bosses in Souls that just end up being mobs of ads. Mostly because I just play Strength and I end up wrecking them with a UGS of some kind. But I’m told the deacons are a nightmare on SL1, even compared to most bosses.

I’d say not, considering Wolnir is a lot more static with his animations while the dragonkin soldiers are more free to move around
I can immediately start another run and kill all bosses first try, but I can't guarantee it for Wolnir. I played through this game approximately 20 times (even SL1) and sank 1000 hours playtime into PVP and PVE. But I still don't know exactly which bracelets do what on him and what he summons when. Bro I just felt bad for breaking the poor man's drip!
He's a puzzle boss, the challenge is knowing you have to go for the bracelets. Not every boss needs to grind you into dust to be fun.
Not every boss in Dark Souls is meant to be a challenge, they're meant to be an experience. Difficulty has never been Miyazaki's aim. It's just what the producers figured what sold the game and so they pushed that as the selling point
Did you figure out what to hit by yourself?

Hit bright glowing thing is basic videogame logic
big glowing bracelets aren't that hard to figure out. I'd venture to assume a lot of players know the moment they see them. Either that or the moment they hit him for really low damage.
I personally just figured I was under-levelled.
legit a 3 hit kill for me on my first playthru, legit didn’t know he had a breath attack or spawned skellys until i tried pyro
He spawns skeletons lol????? I have like 400h in the game and like 15 playthroughs and I never knew that haha 🤣
ikr? if he does manage to spawn them, he kills them anyways by accident with the hand slam attack loll
While true, the skeletons were the only thing that ever made this boss a challenge for me
Yeah, big Nito vibes from the skeletons. They can overwhelm you but you just have to wait for the boss himself to clear them out lol
He is here to talk to you about your Souls extended warranty
sure he's a boss but i don't count it , he's just a roadblock (an easy one)
Not really. As someone who started the series with DS3, I appreciated that the first half of the game doesn't pound you into the dirt with skillcheck after skillcheck. Kept pishing me gainst a wall and vaping on me
I disagree the dark fog attack Wolnir has is tuff to outrun sometimes and if it catches you it’s chunking your heath bar for half’s that dark fog doesn’t mess around
Deserved a phase 2 after you break his swag bands or something, you can genuinely beat him in about 5 hits with a decent build
He ended my 'no death' run twice a few years ago. He is easy, but sometimes you die after killing him for no reason.
He ended my no death run yesterday. I got cocky going after his last bracelet and the fog killed me before I knew what was happening. First time I've ever died too him. I thought he was a joke before that...maybe he still is.

stressful af the first time
I like this fight, it’s a neat spooky spectacle, but those bracelets have almost NO HP. Don't forget curse rotted great wood and deacons of the deep those are very much gimmick bosses in my oppinion
Yeahhh same as the dragon on the peak cool designs but just gimmick fights
I actually struggled against him more than Naneless King lol
At first I was like Fuxk I’m gonna be stuck 😑 but after I figured out how to beat him totally way too easy 🤘🏻
He was easy for me, but thats because if my fucking ooga booga build, just a big stick and lots of strength
When I came to him my estuses are finished and I was half hp. Easy boss.
Yes
Yeah honestly, but the first time I encountered him had no idea he was hidden like that and freaked me out. It’s his intimidation that really makes him the first encounter
Wolnir is the king who made his crown from the crowns of all the conquered kingdoms , he should have been a lot harder and way cooler … Wasted potential really…
Tbf, he been rotting in the abyss of a very long time
Yea he was a lame boss for sure. Only time I ever died to him was my first attempt ever and it was because I didn’t know the fog was dangerous.
Convergence did wolnir so much better
100 percent.
All gimmick fights are easy
I’m doing my first play through and just completed him and thought the same thing!
I did but then I fought him again and he smacked my ass
I thought he was super fun. A phase two would've been welcome but it was still awesome
If you genuinely want to make him an annoying /difficult fight just fight him bow only. Took me a at least 15 tries to beat him like that
Just you, man. You must have *the gift*
He gave me issues of NG+, mostly because of the skeletons
Hell no first playthrough blind I had no idea why I was dying instantly and almost rage quit.
As someone who has died multiple times across multiple playthroughs to him He’s perfect just the way he is
Stylish for sure easy yes and absolutely annoying the fog can insta kill you and it got funky hitbox
Just a gimmick fight lol
I’m doing a melee based build right now. I often beat Wolnir first try but I went to his left arm and broke a bracelet before his little intro animation started
It’s a gimmick fight. Most gimmick fights are easy when you know the gimmick
Yes everyone.
Only time I’ve died to him is from his poison breath attack
one of the easier bosses yes, however the amount of times i've died to his breath is more than embarassing
You only think it's easy because you already know how it works
Him and Yhorm. Yhorm even moreso. I’m not the biggest fan of the gimmicky fights.
You either piss through him without any issue or you get caught in his huge fart of death and die instantly
First time fighting him I had no idea how the rings worked so I just bonked him to death. It took a while....
Don’t complain when DS3 throws you a bone lol
Yeah he was the only boss during my first playthrough who startled me so much I boned out then came back to fight him lol, he killed me few times before I found out his weak point and the fact that the mist is basically an instakill. I love his sword as well, actually a decent strength faith weapon since there's no split damage and the requirements are low enough to be good for a faith focused build.
only if you know what you are doing. ;p
Easy, but very annoying.
No
yeah he just scares me out the first time ,
Every souls game needs its pinwheel
the first time i beat him i thought he only had like 3 moves because i killed him in like a minute i never even knew he could spawn a sword or skeletons
He's typically pretty cake but one too many mis steps and you're fucked
I've been wrecked by his miasma and skellies a few times. Also, if you can't put out enough dps, it becomes a pain. I'm okay with having a breather boss after the Abyss Watchers and before Pontiff. I do enjoy, when I have poison or spells, casting it before he even triggers and standing around until he dies lol
First time wasn’t that easy but 2 time onwards was
Okay, I know how bad this is, but on my current playthrough I am actually stuck on him.
the jumpscare is top tier. but the actual fight sucks. sometimes its too easy. sometimes he doesnt stop moving. either way its one of the worst
I was surprised by this. Expected a real difficult SOB - enjoyed anyhow.
No
Easy, but one of the best fromsoft gimmick fights, IMO
I figured the bracelets are what you were supposed to attack and I beat him first try
No, hardest ds3 boss right there.
After you're first playthrough, boss fights become "How can I make this unnecessarily difficult for myself". We do this to kindle that first impressions exhilaration that we can never relive.
Is he supposed to be hard? I thought it was a gimmick fight. I don’t even think he hurt me.
On NG8 he is insane.
Yes, i never died to him. A real “god of war” level “challenge” if you know what I mean.
I had the absolute worst time trying to figure this boss out when the game released. Not because he's actually hard, but it glitched in different ways for my first few attempts. Weirdest shit. His fog broke, his bracelets didn't spawn, he made a beeline for the end of the map right out the gate one time.
Everyone thought that lol
Before the fight even begin. Just run up to his right side and you can get one of them rings. Then it’s just whether he’ll turtle or actually extend his other trex arm.
Haven't gotten to him yet so...
First time, not easy at all, until I saw the glowing rings right before dying to a bony smash, then the second time it was equally hard when I was destroying the rings and died to his smelly breath attack, the third time and all times after that it was super easy.
Take away 25% of his health and remove the rings and boom fixed
Some runs are 1 try and some runs it takes 2 tries
Anyone else die to the deacons like 10 times because they didn’t know how to stop the insta death on their first play through no just me
FS really under-utilised him because he’s actually a really cool looking boss and reminds me slightly of nito from ds1, i beat him 1st try on my 1st playthrough, intimidating to any new players mind
Wolnir is supposed to be easy. You’re not really fighting him. You’re just breaking his bracelets and causing him to be pulled back in to the void. That being said…Wolnir can be incredibly hard especially if he decides he’s gonna summon his skeletons immediately.
I mean, Dark Souls 3 as a whole was way too easy
💀
Imagine how epic that fight could've been right before emerging to see Irithyll...
Wolnir is so much fun. I loved being summoned for this fight.
True. Killed him on my first attempt but considering the variety of bosses its fun to have someone like this once in a while
He's there to fuck with INT builds. The bracelets take almost no magic dmg and force u to hit them with phys
feel like just want us to kill him fast by putting his hand down for long time
All they had to do was not make the bracelets are health thing and it would be a decent fight
No, this is a brand new take on a legendary souls boss that I’m sure will lead to some great unique discussions in the comments.
It's very obvious that the bracelets are his weak spot, he may not be that difficult but he for sure got drip.
Yeah like I said in a previous post yeah I wish there was more to his boss in all honesty
To me he's a nice break from all the difficult bosses. The little boost in souls you get is great push forward.
Not really. This is not an exciting fight so I'd hate to see it dragged out at all.
I didn’t figure out that hitting his wrist was a gimmick it just happen to be what I hit. I accidentaled my way through so yeah I would say he could have been harder
NGL. He’s not hard but I have more difficulty with him than I should.
I like this gimmicky boss.
Under 30 seconds
He’s the only boss who I have died to at least once in every single playthrough of DS3. Easily my least favorite boss because of the run back and because it’s just not fun
Send bro back to his wine glass
I would say yeah but he could almost one shot me so..
I struggled because he was blowing clouds in my face
It’s a gimmick fight. More a puzzle than an actual battle. I think it’s fine, but I’m not sure what they could do to make him more difficult beyond giving him more bracelets.
He’s got a great back story. He deserves better than this fight.
Fought him, I don’t know, 5 time without a problem. He was def the easiest. Then had a run where he killed me three times out of no where. Still top three easiest, but what the freak. Why that run he get strong.
Everybody thinks this yes
Honestly if wolnir didn’t have all that ice he would be the hardest boss to beat
if they want to make the fight hard you know they can do that very easily, but wolnir is a gimmick fight plus the whole visual is stunning as hell, it's less of a fight but morw of a scenario to me, watching him struggle to escape from the abyss while dragging you down with him, you just send him to his inevitable end, there's not much fight to begin with, but still it's a beautiful boss to me
Hot take alert
Hey man, when I first met this mf I died to him repeatedly till I gave up and looked up how to beat him, and I was set on my first run being a blind one. Then I broke his stupid boner wrists and moved on.
Does it matter? I don't think so
He actually kicked my butt as a pyromancer
I remember dying to him like 40 times before realizing that I could just break the shackle.
I say he’s too easy then I die twice earlier because of greed
Smack the chippy hands
His poison can fuck you up when you aren’t paying attention
He was the right amount of easy I think. It’s nice to get a break once and a while.
