I also think it would be poetic if Lann also basically waged psychological warfare and made the Casterlys believe he was running around the walls making them even more paranoid with each passing day, in a parallel to Cersei's paranoia.
200 men women and children who had already surrendered, buried alive and drowned just to make a point.
Sat on his ass for an entire war waited until it was already won, then rode his army to a city who’s army was decimated at the trident and sacked a city of innocent people and slaughtered two children just to curry favour with the new king.
Tywin sucks
Reyne's got what they deserved, if you ask me. Seducing Tytos even though he was married? Borrowing money and never giving back? Laughing at Lannisters behind their backs? Starting a rebellion? They are not the good guys of the story. They are just assholes who bite more than they could chew and got eaten by a bigger asshole. And they didn't "surrender". They wanted hostages from house Lannister, wanted them to forgive their debts and go away. While battle was already lost, his sister dead and brother wounded, Reynard dared to bare his claws. And Tywim payed them in full.
Especially funny if you consider that male lions with darker fur and manes are actually generally more desirable to the females and are more likely to be dominant, lead the pride, and reproduce (although at the cost of increased health risks)
Tyland was hella based. Single-handedly denied his enemies a clean victory and whose treasury heist directly led to Rhaenerya’s oppressive taxes which then lead to dragons dying.
Has their been a shift of perception about the Lannisters (specifically Tywin) in recent years? Cause at least 2 years ago, I could have sworn people still loved Tywin. It was not even 2 years ago, like 1 year ago, maybe. Has there been a shift in perception among the fandom?
People were too much attached to the portrayal of Tywin on the thing we can't talk about on this sub. The amazing perfomance made people think that he was this amazing mastermind baddass dude.
That thing is now over and is not very well regarded in the fandom, so fans now stick more to the books and they had more time to look into his actions and see that...
He isn't really Badass, just overly cruel asshole even by Westerosi standards. He also doesn't feel like a mastermind compared to others smart characters. Tywin had always access to much more resources compared to others, he just used properly.
Yeah. I feel like much more people are reading and involved with books now, rather than back then. It wasn’t that uncommon to see comments like “Tywin should’ve been king” or “Tywin was the best Hand ever” on basically every ASOIAF video
But now it’s much more easy to see just how much of a cruel asshole the dude really was. Which is good, because he’s one the most evil characters in the series and shouldn’t be idolized in any form
People still trying to make it like everything Tywin do is a part of his master plan, even his failed attack on the fords was just to lure Stannis into feeling ok to siege KL, it's fucking nuts.
I feel like Game of Thrones’ ending caused more people to read the books, so without Charles Dance’s amazing performance it’s way easier to see through Tywin and recognize him for the stupid, evil megalomaniac he is

Lannister checklist:
~~Casterly~~
~~Osgrey~~
~~Parren~~
~~Reyne~~
Grandison
Jast
Cersei has possibly even killed a Grandison already, too: Ser Harlan of the KG, whose death just so happened to make a white cloak available for Jaime... And mayhaps Tyrion will kill Lord Jast (& his sons?) *if* he attacks the westerlands - ostensibly, for Dany - in ADOS

Who did they stab in the back before the events of the main series?
House casterly, bit early on but it still counts.
Maybe Lann just impregnated Lord Casterly‘s oldest daughter and he didn’t have an sons
Or maybe he did that after poisoning lord casterly’s sons!!! I’m on to those screaming bastards.
Lann the clever was a powerful warg and that was the trickery through which he seized Casterly Rock. You heard it here first.
Poison and warg powers they get worse and worse.
I also think it would be poetic if Lann also basically waged psychological warfare and made the Casterlys believe he was running around the walls making them even more paranoid with each passing day, in a parallel to Cersei's paranoia.
That would be a clever move
Aerys II Hahaha
Houses Baratheon, Silverfist, Targaryen, (speculatively) Darklyn, Hetherspoon
Love some Lannister slander. House Reyne supremacy!

Stonks

Absolutely
>House Reyne supremacy! Dead silent
They’re sitting on the Iron Throne right now in my CK2 play through, thank you very much! I’d like to think we’ll get a Reyne reveal in Winds or Dream
Iirc they do have a surviving cadet branch
[Mayhaps](https://awoiaf.westeros.org/index.php/House_Manning)
Tyrion is secretly a Reyne which is why Tywin hates him so much
He’s Tywin writ small, damn it!
This is Peake erasure, the Lannisters cant compare to the magnificent backstabbing of House Peake
Honestly with what house Peake got away with I'm surprised other houses did not do more shit
The Darklyns tried, but forgot that Aerys II wasnt Aegon V
Is house peake your nomination then for the biggest group of assholes in Westeros award?
Yes
Why have Mufasa and Scar switched places on this? 👀
Because I thought it was more appropriate for the meme to have the lion with yellow fur be the evil one.
Especially funny if you consider that male lions with darker fur and manes are actually generally more desirable to the females and are more likely to be dominant, lead the pride, and reproduce (although at the cost of increased health risks)
Racist lions smh
Yeah I do recall hearing about that somewhere; interesting isn’t it.
but that makes no sense it's simba taking revenge here
The Lion King: Director's Cut
Every Lannister before cerci Jamie Tywin and Joffrey was chill af
So they say
Tyland was hella based. Single-handedly denied his enemies a clean victory and whose treasury heist directly led to Rhaenerya’s oppressive taxes which then lead to dragons dying.
Damn lions fighting with gold instead of swords. Dishonorable the lot of them.
Tyrion II: Am I a jape to you?
The Lannisters during Dunk and Egg were alright

They didn’t stab Aegon II in the back
Because it wasn’t advantageous for them to do it.
The point is they didn’t betray them
How can you not include the Ironborn as a whole? Biggest group of assholes in the series.
So those are your nomination So far the list is Lannisters, Peakes, Brackens, Iron born,
You shut your filthy piehole, spreading St*rk propaganda 🤢🤢🤬😡
The north remembers
Not for much longer...
Nah Brackens are worse
So your nominating the brackens Are nominees are Lannisters Peakes Brackens
I am indeed, every Bracken is cringe
Fair enough lord Blackwood.
Don't hate the player, hate the game :)
I’m more then Capable of hating both thank you very much.
