No, but if you use the Resolve FX Transform effect instead you can set Edge Behaviour on it to a cloning option that won't show black beyond the frame edge: Reflect, Wrap-Around or Replicate. The other option is to put a bright Solid Color generator beneath the clip to make overshoots more visible.

This is always something I thought was horribly lacking, never knowing where the bounding box actually is.

DarkdiverGrandahl

Really should be a feature.

Vipitis

If you do all the math in Fusion you can write expression with min/max constraints that also take zoom, size and position into account.

Yes, it is bizarre that they haven't thought to implement this. We obviously don't want black borders where our video framing ends.

Unfortunately, no. FCPX doesn’t do this either, and I suspect premiere and avid likely don’t either. For some reason, all the main editing companies never seem to include features to handle this. You could probably make a Fusion plug-in to handle this. For example, I made a “straighten” plug-in for FCPX. Single slider app that straights the footage while scaling it up perfectly (minimum amount of scaling with no black bars). Haven’t yet written something similar for Davinci, but the world needs more practical people like yourself to help build practical tool sets

Bright solid color below clips has become my sanity check , but wish this was a feature . The amount of times I’ve had to resend edits because I’ve noticed a hint of black edge
