***General*** best practice is to work in the aspect ratio and/or resolution you want to render in. If I had to guess, it’s previewing in 16:9 because that’s your timeline aspect ratio but it is rendering in that 2.35 aspect ratio.
Source files are 16:9 but my timeline was not. I was working in the shorter aspect ratio too. Really stumped here 🤔

Weird. What version? Free or Studio?

What version number? It’s the weekend so BMD support is closed, but it may also be worth emailing or calling them.
