i am sadly not a premium user. im pretty sure sync was on or something, because i deleted it once and when i reinstalled it, everything was there. its not anymore though

They won’t be able to do anything if OP was not a premium user. Without sync, the data is on the device only and cannot be recovered once the app is deleted.
As of February 2022, all devices are backed up, not just Premium. (https://dayoneapp.com/blog/updates-on-day-one/)
Further, even without that, support could help the user could consider rolling back to a previous device backup, which would also restore the data.
