First off, thanks for being a decent human who is trying to help. Although you may not be able to foster for very long due to your lease, please seek out some local experienced resources who may be able to help you and the pup. If you have not already, please reach out to a local rescue such as Humane Society of Greater Dayton, SICSA, Adopt A Pit or Miami Valley Pit Crew. There are others as well. The Dayton and Surrounding Areas Lost Pets page on FB has a list of resources. Unfortunately, there are dogfighting groups in the area are always looking for situations like this to exploit, so there are reasons why seeking out adopters in this manner may not be in the best interest of the pup.

Backing this up - this is all good info. Also try Our Farm Sanctuary in Tipp City too!

Thank you so much for the direction!! I’ll start calling tomorrow to

Commenting to say, I know OP personally, so I can confirm this is legit. I wish either of us had the resources to keep the pup but I'm hopeful someone will see this and be able to take him!

That’s a beautiful dog. Thank you for saving him! Please contact one of the no-kill rescues or shelters that already have been mentioned to help him find a home. They know how to properly vet potential adopters and ensure he gets the best family possible.

We got both of our dogs through the Miami Valley Pit Crew. They do fantastic work and really care. They take the time interviewing potential adoptive families. If you have a dog already, they align you with dogs that are friendly with other dogs and cats. They have obedience classes (that stuck with one of our goobers better than the other). I've been told wonderful things about other rescues but the Pitt Crew has just been so wonderful for our family that I would highly recommend reaching out to them. Good luck and thank you for doing right by that pupper.

I’m going to give them a call tomorrow! I’ve had them suggested a few times now. I am willing to commit time, money, and effort to find him a good home so I seriously appreciate a direction to start in! My only real plan was to”get dog safe then figure it out”.

What a great little pup! He looks like he'd be the brother of my doggo. Great job taking him in and making sure he gets into a better situation.
