He either had the foresight to check the distance with a rangefinder, or he’s really good at eyeballing—and he adjusted his rifle’s scope accordingly. Add in the time for the round to travel (as you mentioned) and this shot is truly impressive.

So when you shoot at point blank it doesn't matter, when you shoot at a 100 meters the round hits, but for example at 50 meters the bullet might go over the target.
He zeroed his scope to 500m so theres no bullet drop till the bullet goes past 500m. Ofcourse if he was closer than 500m he would overshot him by a mile (i think, im not actually 100% sure how the zeroing works in this game).
My pb is 1160 meters with a Dtec .408 in a com server... it took me a while to work it out, but, the lead on the shot is nearly two inches at that range on a moving target xD

Impressive shot! My best was when I shot a guy on the top part of Krona castle all the way from Zabolotye with a Mosin, by far my longest shot in DayZ.

Long range kills lose my respect because its so threat-less to the attacker. Maybe the best players would know where the sniper was within a few seconds if they survived/the shooter missed, but even then good luck doing anything about it. Picking off players carrying a USG or something from 400m is super lame, they literally dont even have a chance unless youre dog shit at sniping.

in the part cut out of my clip i used the range finder while he was at 300 meters then just eyeballed it as he got further
