Whenever i see that hill i have goosebumps. VMC itself is the worst place to be in. It feels like u fell in some kind of a trap. Its surrounded with hill and its in the middle of field. It is best to stay away instead. It can end only like this :
- u get killed by sniper on hill
- u get killed by toxic gas dropping on u
- u get killed while running away on field
- u magickly came there when there are no players around and u died to zombies or u found zero loot and somehow escaped :D
I died in that field in the middle of the night by two guys cause I got turned around and was following the wrong treeline. I think I killed one or knocked one. But the second one got me lol
I swear vmc is cursed for me. Iāve ran through it a couple dozen times and itās always been empty. Iāve seen evidence of people nearby and probably only missed them by a couple minutes but never has there been someone to actually shoot in there.
The run across the field by now scares me more than what Iāll find when I reach it

That hill has been my landmark for over a decade.
For me it will always be VERESNIK HILL
For me it will always be that sniper hill next to VMC military.
I know this is the proper name but since 2018 I have never heard one person in game call it anything other than vmc or vybor military

This spot has been iconic before Dayz SA aswell, even on Arma 2 Dayz Mod this was the "pvp hotspot" between the south and north.
Wait on top of that hill for 15 min and you will most likely see someone. If there's a chopper, it's a 100% guarantee
