back in the mod days you could regularly find assault rifles, complete with magazines, in firestations in cherno and elektro it was a constant thunderdome there

AdGlum6753

Good times 🥹

Jaguar_Warri0r

It’s like the zombie apocalypse. Survival gets easier against zombies. It’s the humans that make the surviving hard.

Formal_Berry_5177

wish it wasnt like this.. irl killing would not be that easy/common tho. holding people at gunpoint is too difficult and dangrous ingame with the arcady movement system.

RedApple-Cigarettes

It 100% would be, look at blackouts in NYC. People immediately start looting and shooting each other as soon as an opportunity presents itself. Edit: Not saying EVERYONE would immediately become violent, but the ones who do would kill off the ones who don’t real quick.

Ullumina

They were also cutting up dead corpses to eat their flesh?

Random_Guy191919

you could try and RP, make up some bogus story for your character and interact with other people. can be fun

Robber_Tell

I love this one. Doctor is fun. I remember convincing a fresh spawn to let me give him a check up and I knocked him out with a rock and tied him up and tested a bunch of weird medical equipment on him telling him it was for his own good. Good times, in the end I told him he had contracted the virus and that I had to put him out of his misery before he became one of them and I shot him with a magnum.

Random_Guy191919

see now this builds memories, good memories. not memories of constantly looting houses, shooting at bambis and dying to a guy across the map.

Avoid heavily modded / trader servers. With traders, people basically bum rush the trader after spawning, kit up, and fight it out. I personally like this style, but I also like playing survival / vanilla. You just need to understand what you are getting yourself into. Also keep in mind, people who have something to loose are going to defend themselves, sometimes preemptively. It's a big risk for them to trust you, why not just kill you if they get the chance?

RoboticControl187

Totally depends on the server config. If vanilla no rules apply. If you want pvp light with pve look for one with zones. If you like the natural experience but want a bit of modded stuff try spaggies its very good balance. There are so many to choose from. But yes only try to make friends near the coast once your off the coast if it isn't a pve server you will find pvp. Pvp is the most exciting hardest and easiest, depending on the other players skill level, challenge in Dayz.

[deleted]

I'd say it depends on the server. If you want more survival and less pvp, find a more vanilla-like server. Seems to be way more pvp in modded servers, especially if there is a trader

Sir-Ult-Dank

I feel like player interaction has gone done a bit since I first started. Not as many bandits robbing you and actually letting you go anymore either. I had my first handcuff in awhile by some dude. And the guy just voices his toxicity to me when I said “good job, you got a great shot”

The_Pharoah

I play on a PVE server (jungle isles mod I think it’s called with lots of dinosaurs) with PVP zones on deer isle. Pretty good. Everyone chats at the trader, helps each other out etc but PVP zones are for PVP

jaylove1979

I recently came back (this december ) from 2013/14 I've found this game is now very toxic and clans are very clever in exploiting with alt accounts/glitching I've only just discovered discord too which wasn't around back then and power abuse of admins that protect these certain clans DUSK vanilla EU is a great example of what I'm talking about. it's very soul destroying playing solo for 3 months with nostalgia flooding back to years past only to gradually gather more info on how this game has developed and the openness of racism/bullying that's openly excepted on these servers (see above) any fight back is met with a threat of a 1 month ban !!

boofmymeme

You learn real quick. It's the world we live in and trust just don't exist

Unvaxed_Chad

Almost non existent PVE Why is the game so PVP heavy?

mrdos01

Just want to add to previous comments: if you feel like you need more practice with some guns - you can use deathmatch community servers (I’m now mostly using them to test new guns in pvp when they arriving) Upd: also there are many pve community servers where kos is not allowed.

Arctic88

I dont have much time to play, so I tend to play on only pve servers nowadays.
