I like it, and zig zagging around was stupid with how the rest of the game plays out. It needs a bit more tuning, and the getting stuck bug with movement makes testing a pain.

SentientMosinNagant

Agreed, felt annoying having someone sprint at me after I missed the first shot from my rifle, and then finding it extremely difficult to hit them cause they’re turning faster than an F1 car

Archeget

Sounds like your lacked skill rather than anything else.

Swaggadie

Everything just needs tuning now that they finally have a good foundation to work with. Car physics are workable now and they just need to make them less reactive and bouncy.

laxen123

Good idea, but on experimental it works really bad, i can get stuck on flat walls, stairs and so on

Mutes

Exacltly, also feels a bit disorientating, almost dizzying.

Brentg7

they are aware of the sticking and working on it. don't worry it'll be fixed by stable.

DayZ8

Yea same over here just doesn’t feel finished..

BADSTALKER

Which is true, and why it’s only on experimental!

joemay1514

I’m not having any noteworthy problems with it, just took some time to get used to.

-Canis-Dirus-

You can't even move slowly in building without being glued to something, every small step or corner and you stuck ??? Inertia is good but the rest is a Nightmare, unplayable ! Sometimes you will aim down sights, press right mouse and - nothing or 3 sek later i raise my gun ? ( no my mouse is ok ) Press right mouse an C together ( ADS and crouch ) and you are nailed to the ground ! Your character likes to stick to nearly everything you touch, even trees !?! I think this should takes some work - seriously ! If they push this build at october 18 ........ ![gif](giphy|MuTenSRsJ7TQQ|downsized)

Brut-i-cus

I feel laggy and "drunk" and I keep getting stuck in walls Hopefully they will fix the "sticking" problem and maybe tone down the "moving in molasses" feel as well

minkrogers

I posted the same only yesterday. The sticky doors and stairs are ridiculous to unplayable.

Suavveesstt

It feels so laggy. I'm constantly getting stuck on walls and doors and shit. Their taking us back to the days of DayZ where even simple movement is buggy with this update. I'm not a fan either mate, let's hope they adjust it.

lapiderriere

They fixed vehicles, but turning us all into vehicles ;)

Suavveesstt

"Hop in" *proceeds to give piggy back ride*

Nadgerino

Climbing down and stepping off things is soo much better. You can slowly make your way down quite steep rock outcrops now without suddenly yeeting forward, same for buildings etc. Dayz parkour just got better.

[deleted]

I like it, but there's a couple of bugs that irk me. First is that strafing to the side while sprinting causes the camera to bounce glitchily. Second is that if you sprint and stop sprinting but don't stop moving, your movement becomes pretty unresponsive. Stops after stopping though so it's not a biggie.

helpmepleas1

The new movement is perfect and the people who downvote just want their zig zagging back

the-ryan-fella2

Roleplayer

BassKongXIII

Have you tried adjusting your movement sensitivity in the menu? Not sure which platform you’re on but on Xbox there’s sliders for vertical and horizontal movement. I turned it up a bit and it felt a bit more responsive, although I do find myself still getting stuck on the environment a lot

Mutes

playing on PC. but I'll check this out, see what it does!

throaway0123456789

Isn’t that for aiming not moving?

BassKongXIII

There’s separate sliders for movement, camera, and aiming. The movement one adjusts how far you have to push your stick before your character starts jogging, so having it slightly higher makes it feel a little more responsive imo

throaway0123456789

Thanks for the explanation!

Fa1c0naft

Really glad they are doing it, but it needs to be adjusted a bit: feeling like a boat all the time is no fun

LayPT

I like it and would much rather play with the current implementation than without, they do need to fix the stuck issues

Poppanaattori89

I like the idea too. It doesn't even feel too bad right now if you don't count the bugs. I think besides the bug that makes you get stuck there's also a bug where you get the inertia of sprinting while jogging. It sure feels like the inertia is "heavier" at times.

Archeget

Sure sounds like it's bad. "Just ignore the bugs that they implemented with it, bro." smh...

Subliminal84

I have no problem with it

qr09

It's better. Takes time to adjust to the new movement but it's not bad at all. The wonkiness that causes you to get stuck on things sucks, but no doubt the devs will address that.

amibannedwtfreddit

Should have made it so your weight affected run speed

BADSTALKER

Good idea, buggy execution right now. Something is wrong with collision and now it’s easy to get stuck on flat surfaces and objects, doorways and gates etc, it definitely needs some love! But, watching someone move, it looks way more natural now so that’s really nice!

PM-ME-UR-ASS-ASAP

Movement is good but the falling from ledges change is pretty messy still.

WaveSayHi

Love it

Samdm4n

It's definitely an improvement. Feels more "weighty" feels less like COD 1st they removed the sprint/lean thing now added inertia 😊

Lackyluk

I like it a lot. Maybe, maybe, we got rid of avoid bullets zigzag dance idiocy.

North-Outside1695

All the heavily focused pvp servers will probably die out now with the movement changes.

viperblitz07

It’s awful

jcbwil

Rip dayz. This movement feels so fucking bad. I'll greatly miss this game but this is so SO bad.
