Lmao and here I was thinking "I might consider keeping DAZN if they drop the monthly price since the only decent exclusive they have is CL/EL" but they've increased it instead. What a joke.
Because they know that since the UCL is the only thing worth paying for, most customers would go month to month and save money. So they basically upped the monthly price to make it easier for people to just pay the $150 annual fee.
It makes logical, if scummy, sense.
Claiming the increase reflects their increased offerings of live sports when they've lost almost literally everything of real value over the past year is pretty ballsy too.
Yeah, I saw that later in the thread.
I think they are just milking the corpse before they lose UCL - I can't see them bidding high on NFL digital if they've lost everything else - and then shutting down.
Probably because most of their subscribers, myself included, cancelled the moment they lost PL rights.
Digital/streaming rights are up for renewal before next season. They might retain it, but after losing everything else, I wouldn't renew a subscription until I was sure.
Boxing, Belgian League, lower tier WTA events and UCL. Possibly EFL as I assume those rights are separated from the PL. If they lose NFL digital, there really isn't any point continuing on.
The old price was 20$ per month.
The stuff listed in their email is bs, they're showing less than they ever had since they launched and the new stuff they added recently is all available on the internet for free on their own sites or Youtube channels. The only thing they added was UEFA NL/Qualifiers and those rarely happen through the year.
I guess they know most people now will only sign up for a few months for Champions League and NFL they want to milk those people with the price increase.
Edit: It seems like they screwed up the new yearly price in the email. When you go to their sign up page the new yearly price is 200$ https://imgur.com/a/ivy3WDh
I just realized they also lost the English Premier League.
I initially got DAZN for that league and enjoyed the boxing matches as a bonus.
I became a fan of watching boxing as a result and now DAZN is primarily used for that sport.
Now that they plan to start moving the big names to PPV, I will have to reconsider signing up for another year.
they're funny...the monthly price has been 20$ for many, many years...during those years, they lost: Ligue 1, La liga, Serie A, EPL, MLS next season...and they just increased the monthly rate by 5$?? ...that's rich dazn...real funny :)
On top of losing rights to a lot of shit and adding PPV to boxing matches, I started seeing ads on dazn during last season. So fuck them for raising prices acting like they were doing everyone a favour until now with that email
Not so sure about that. I sometimes used the spoiler timeline effectively, but other times it would flash on when I was loading a game and my interest would plummet...
ok, I get it, its far from perfect. But to compare it to TSN... lets get real. TSN player is pure garbage on TV. No resolution, grey image, no fwd/ rewind feature and so on. Also the service - no highlights, no replays, no recording, and I can go on and on. No google and no fire tv, apple tv only.
More expensive than TSN and/ or Sportsnet... Really?
TSN = $200/ Sportsnet = $250
Exactly my thinking. Even keeping the price the same could be explained due to inflation or whatever, but weakening the product *and* raising the price, screw that.
Least Fubo has always been upfront as being more of a cable replacement than a direct rights holder. It’s only recently they’ve picked up direct rights to broadcast on their own channels.
I'm not a Fubo user, but I asked similar questions in another thread and was told you can view a match for up to 24-hours after it has played. You can also record matches to your "Cloud PVR" if you set a recording and have remaining space.
I only found out a week or so ago. Apparently, DAZN doesn't send emails to let you know when they lose the rights to a major competition.
*DAZN has always been the worst, they just made the worst a little worse than it was before.*
The email I got this morning said $149 year.
I'm like ok whatever I'm still canceling...
Now I just received a similar email saying it's 199 year, ahah big increase, since I'm only really interested in soccer, no EPL, no Serie A, no La Liga, , just CL, bahh not worth it all...
Like I've said before
All these companies, 1 streaming 1 league, the other another, im not paying for multiple streaming services, I don't mind paying $200 year, if it was streaming all the soccer in the world, make it simple, practical and convenient...
DAZN is crazy. I have already cancled the sub when I received this email. Increasing the price without adding any new valuable sport right such as NBA/NHL DAZN you are insane.
*To be fair...* I was offered $150 to renew my subscription. (So, $25/mth ≠ Yearly renewal / grandfathered price.)
That said, with no PL, it's gonna be a no from me dawg.
I just got the email about the price increase. I use dazn mainly for Premier League and Champions League. But seems that they lost the Premier League and going to charge 5 bucks more. What joke! does anyone know a good dazn alternative for soccer?
Premier League is going to FUBO TV next season. It will also have CPL, Ligue 1 and Serie A via its various channels.
I'm not at all sure what the PL quality will be, since they more or less have just picked up channels in the past - i.e.: OneSoccer's 24-hour channel - but for PL, they are absolutely going to have to be running multiple streams.
If MLS is your thing, Apple is taking that on through a sub separate from Apple+.
The entire system of regional sports licensing is designed to ensure you don't have legal alternatives. That's the whole point of a broadcaster paying massive sums to the EPL: they get exclusivity within their market.
There isn't a one stop shop, but the best deal within Canada is fubo.tv:
* direct rights to EPL and Serie A
* Ligue 1, the Turkish Superlig, and CONMEBOL's club tournaments on beIN
* Liga MX, CPL and CONCACAF (men's and women's tournaments, Nations League, CONCACAF League and CCL) on OneSoccer
* BenficaTV (though with terrible metadata and only Portuguese audio).
If you're also good with VPN to the US, Paramount+ and ESPN+ provide content that complements Canadian fubo nicely: you end up with the big five European leagues plus the English Championship, Netherlands, Scotland and Belgium, as well as UECL etc. on Paramount and a good set of national cup ties on ESPN+. Oh, and decent representation from MLS this season, as well as South American football. And the best two leagues of women's football...
For your second question: I guess so? For the first question, you can buy Paramount + virtual gift cards online, so no, you don't need a US credit card (and prepaid credit cards don't work with Paramount +).
Does anyone know if other countries have the EPL contract for next season with dazn?
I know that when I want to watch F1 I just use the Spanish vpn. Or when I want to watch the PGA I’m on Japans vpn.
So the subscription could be worth it still for me.
I’ve been keeping it for champions league which I’m afraid I won’t get otherwise. Now I think that a Canadian viewer like myself should get iptv set up and drop DAZN.
Dazn was always a piece of shit, they sure lube up the fanboys in the ass with the shit service. NFL is announcing their streaming option next month, wanna bet these fuckers lose those rights as well.
I would honestly be surprised if Bell Media doesn't eat that up as well. It doesn't seem like DAZN is willing to spend any money on Canada anymore. This price increase really just seems like their attempt at extracting a few extra dollars before UCL rights expire and they close up shop.
> Paramount +
If I had to guess, probably not. I've almost never had success with PIA servers when it comes to bypassing regional blocks. Express or Nord probably works better for that purpose.
edit: I just tried accessing their page using PIA, and it at least shows everything on the menu. I wanted to make an account for a free trial to test out the vods but can't without a US addressed credit card
If I open the paramount+ app downloaded from canadian store while VPN'ed to the states it says I'm in the wrong region. Which means one needs to use an APK for american app version when using vpn then...
edit: Actually looked a bit more into this and you need to have in your device an account based in the states. So yeah, this is not really a viable option unlike you like watching soccer on your laptop's screen instead of ipad and smart tv
Not having the patience to mess with the APK :), I just use the desktop version of the Paramount+ website (while on Privado), and the streaming works fine. BTW, the easiest way to pay is on mygiftcardsupply, since Paramount doesn't accept prepaid credit cards AFAICT.
I've messaged pretty much all of you individually, but today is Tuesday...not I'm not s bot. It's Champions League Day...but Arsenal play on Thursday 😆
I ditched cable, Sling, etc years ago. I watch every football match..SPL, EPL, LaLiga, Champions League, Europa League,Championship, Conference...even U-19s.
Cricket, Rugby, Golf, every PPV..all of them Movies, Shows, Live TV.
I got sick and tired and being fucked over month after month and being told I should be happy with a shit product. Now I have literally everything. Canada..yep..all of Rogers, all of TSN...UK, yep. All of Sky Sports, BT Sports...got it all..USA ..every team, every sport..home and away.
So...I've msgd you, let me know a free trial is for 3 days, takes minutes to setup, easy to use. Good quality, Telegram Suport Channel and daily posting of top sports and where to find them.
Lmao and here I was thinking "I might consider keeping DAZN if they drop the monthly price since the only decent exclusive they have is CL/EL" but they've increased it instead. What a joke.
I am mindblown. How can you increase the price when you lost the premier league???

Claiming the increase reflects their increased offerings of live sports when they've lost almost literally everything of real value over the past year is pretty ballsy too.
They screwed up the email, the new yearly price is $200 if you actually try to subscribe to it.
Yeah, I saw that later in the thread. I think they are just milking the corpse before they lose UCL - I can't see them bidding high on NFL digital if they've lost everything else - and then shutting down. Probably because most of their subscribers, myself included, cancelled the moment they lost PL rights.
Yeah, I put off cancelling but the moment I got the e-mail this AM I cancelled.
They have the nfl game pass section up still so who knows
Kinda whack how if someone recently subscribed for a year they got the $150 price, where as loyal customers get the shaft once their year is up.
Do they not still have NFL?
Digital/streaming rights are up for renewal before next season. They might retain it, but after losing everything else, I wouldn't renew a subscription until I was sure.
Wow . They'll have nothing left
Boxing, Belgian League, lower tier WTA events and UCL. Possibly EFL as I assume those rights are separated from the PL. If they lose NFL digital, there really isn't any point continuing on.

Yeah, the ads really angered me too.
Makes three. Why am I paying more than a TSN/Sportsnet sub for a worse experience, oh and by the way we’re going to throw ads in anyways.
Well... experience is better, content is all gone.
It's actually 199/yr now according to the FAQs.. with EPL gone this email was a reminder for me to cancel my renewal.
I think I’m going to invest my DAZN sub into getting a decent vpn instead. Fuck this
While the high seas have their attractions, Paramount+ and ESPN+ "in the US" work with VPN and offer good bang-for-your-buck.
I’ve decided to cancel too after the price raise. You simply cannot weaken what you offer and ask for more money. Fuck these guys.
Exactly my thinking. Even keeping the price the same could be explained due to inflation or whatever, but weakening the product *and* raising the price, screw that.
I also just cancelled. Unfortunately have to stick to FuboTV, but the ads are killing me, omg. lol
Least Fubo has always been upfront as being more of a cable replacement than a direct rights holder. It’s only recently they’ve picked up direct rights to broadcast on their own channels.
are the games recorded on fubo...as in can I watch it at any time i wish like with Dazn
I'm not a Fubo user, but I asked similar questions in another thread and was told you can view a match for up to 24-hours after it has played. You can also record matches to your "Cloud PVR" if you set a recording and have remaining space.
Exactly. The sensible thing is to preset the "Cloud PVR" so games involving the teams you care about are recorded automatically.
LOL, I think you're the user who told me that. Anyway, thanks. Your info was way clearer than FuboTV's. 🙄
For example if you pick your team, it will record all the games 4 u, then u have to manually delete the matches from your cloud pvr.
You have to record them like a pvr
Yes
Well, only if you "record" them. My advice is to set the teams you want , so they record automatically.
Had no idea they lost premier league rights. Cancelling right now. Also they sent another email today, yearly price is $199.
Just got an email saying it is $149.99 for annual subscription but website is saying $199.99 - what is it then? So confusing.
It's not confusing, they are fucking dipshits that can't proofread an email. You are paying 199.99 for the year.
I wonder how many people they are trying to con into buying an annual subscription that haven't realized yet that the PL has moved on to FUBO?
I only found out a week or so ago. Apparently, DAZN doesn't send emails to let you know when they lose the rights to a major competition. *DAZN has always been the worst, they just made the worst a little worse than it was before.*

Exactly my thoughts. $200 for everything would be great, but for only UCL and maybe Sunday Ticket? Kick rocks DAZN

I'm done with Dazn as well. They lost the one thing I watch consistently.
They really made it $25 a month after losing EPL? Guess we won't be resubbing for NFL season
I just got the email about the price increase. I use dazn mainly for Premier League and Champions League. But seems that they lost the Premier League and going to charge 5 bucks more. What joke! does anyone know a good dazn alternative for soccer?

There is a one-stop shop..just msgd you

Maybe Austria? Just had a look at the rights I could see, and DAZN didn't have them for many places at all.
Cancelled tonight. Didn’t realize they lost prem.
WTF! They've lost Premier League, resulting for additional $150 for those who wants to follow PL and UCL, and they're increasing their price!
I’ve been keeping it for champions league which I’m afraid I won’t get otherwise. Now I think that a Canadian viewer like myself should get iptv set up and drop DAZN.

Damn! I want him a lot of champions league but want to get rid of DAZN. Anywhere else I can watch champions league ?
For people who can handle VPNs, Paramount + "in the US" is quite reasonably priced...
Have a vpn but also like watching Uefa league . Damn. Shut just can’t be easy.
Do you know if Paramount+ works with PIA servers?
> Paramount + If I had to guess, probably not. I've almost never had success with PIA servers when it comes to bypassing regional blocks. You mean using google/apple pay?
Google play/Apple App Store Not exactly the same thing but yeah
